Yuzuru Hanyu: 2016-17 Season

We're just having a bit of a laugh, I'm willing to bet that Olympics year will bring a program similar to this years FS or Seimei. It is what he is very good at and I wouldn't be surprised if it is of Asian/Japanese origin again.

But if he wants to go rock or pop, of course there's a tonne of Japanese music. As long as he doesn't do Gackt's Vanilla, I'm all good

*gasp* I am offended that you would spurn Vanilla - it's a classic!
But actually, yeah maybe any other GACKT song would be good - perhaps one of his newer songs where he fuses classical Japanese instruments with Orchestral and Rock ones... if he skated to RETURNER or Setsugekka or Sakura, Chiru... (*sigh*I can dream)

I'll take anything. Whatever he chooses, Yuzu will bring it to life. ^^

This makes me laugh because I was just listening to Hyde with Yoshiki a few days ago, from the Visual Japan they just did recently, and Say Anything is something that can be actually skated to even if stripped of vocals but if we're talking about X-Japan, then this comes first - Endless Rain. I would cry my eyes out at Endless Rain true, but worth it. Second comes this - Tears. I miss Hide so darn much but seriously, yes.

I love Yuzuru with classical too the most but at the same time I also wish he could do one of these great Japanese artists one day. I know he's young so I don't know how much XJ or Laruku are close to him but still.

The vocal-less versions are on youtube also the orchestra versions too! Yoshiki would probably be able to make a suitable arrangement of either songs for Yuzu. And there are so many great Japanese artists that he could skate to (If only there was a way to skate to Sekai no Owari's Snow Magic Fantasy... He already is a fairy, just tweak the lyrics so it says Ice and there you have it). And i'm three years older than him+not japanese, yet X Japan had a big impact on my life (FOOOOREVER LOOOOOVE) In fact the only solo i can properly play on guitar is Say Anything
Or let's bribe Yoshiki so he writes a song for Yuzu

Hey it's not deviation because honestly, if he can do Prince he should totally do one of these greats that are Japanese but transcendent Japan. Yoshiki totally would make an arrangement for him, you know Yoshiki, he'd be tickled pink by that and an instrumental version of one of these would be divine, I don't even care which. If I remember well Yoshiki likes wine, maybe we can ply him with it

With the new skating anime this discussion is going to re-emerge. I am not too sure if i want anime+Yuzu on the same package (ok, that sailor moon pose was cute). Anime fans can be a bit too crazy.

ive thought Toshi’s voice will fit for yuzu’s voice. His pureness, sincerity… I really moved by his song. Further, classical aspect of Yoshiki.. yuzu will catch the feeling poured into every piece.
My favorite for his skate is still this, “Forever Love”(with English translation) , which they did at Kohaku 2015.
but now, i see Tears and Endless Rain are so impressive.

My favorite for his skate is still this, “Forever Love”(with English translation) , which they did at Kohaku 2015.
but now, i see Tears and Endless Rain are so impressive.

Forever Love has so much potential considering how expressive Yuzu can be. It would make me cry, i'm sure of it.
I still get shivers when i watch that video of Endless Rain live where everyone kept chanting the chorus over and over.
Yuzu please, if it's not Eurovision then do something with X Japan, even if it's just at an ice show :sad4:

Oooh I've completely forgotten about Forever Love bad Yata, bad. Yes, yes, that would be brilliant too! I agree about Toshi's voice. And I am not sure I can explain this well, but there is something about the sensibility of these songs that I can associate with Yuzuru. I can see him skate to this, and just perfection. I think that maybe is just a matter of asking Yoshiki (as if i could do that lol), i don't see why he would refuse to write a song for Yuzu to skate to
Maybe his farewell to competitions would be a good ocassion? (i don't want to think about that day, but a song made specifically for him... I think it would be perfect for his retirement)
X Japan's songs are very emotional to me, especially the ones where they combine Yoshiki's piano and the heavy side of the music. It's a completely different thing from power ballads And you could use the argument that the softer classical side and the heavy side is a metaphor for Yuzu's androginy

Oooh yes! Monkey Majik, i love those guys. If i'm not mistaken they are from Sendai, right? (well, they live in Sendai. Half the group is canadian lol)

Now that can totally pass for a FS for the Olympics. It's classical enough and yet beautiful with the slow bits and fast, say around 8 minute mark, so it can be packaged well.

Alas, if we only knew someone, that's the only way so I think it remains at dream-level. I'm sure Yuzuru will picks something wonderful anyway and hey, since he is sticking around after PC who knows? Many program opportunities left, stranger things have happened!

We could spam Japanese twitter If the japanese fans like the idea maybe it would explode Because somehow i don't think it could have enough weight, coming from foreign fans...
Aah... Yuzu after PC... i won't believe that until i see it :sad21: although i desire with all my heart for that to happen, i want to have the chance to watch him skate live!
