Whenever we have a new GP coming up, I keep thinking oh when will NHK? But at the same time I want it to be as far as way as possible, so that he'll have enough time to do everything he likes, while he stays at a decent, healthy pace. Torn I tell you

I'd say sorry to you and serafine but I'm not really, I watch a lot of their shows, they have a certain charm! I am not surprised Yuzu likes it

Oh no need to track anything down, it's updated there as the episodes are aired on their tv, so just keep an eye out on the front page for the show- this one.

I bet that dorama is going to be the most popular this season :P if not this year. I know they make a lot of fuss about the asadora at kouhaku uta but the asadora doesn't have Yuzu dancing not once but TWICE to the theme song

I was thinking just an hour ago, I don't know what to expect from him at NHK .. I have no idea

Same  I was so sure he wouldn't have many problems with the SP at SC and oopsie. But do I think we may have a slightly changed FS, compared to SC.

Orser's new interview: http://www.icenetwork.com/news/2016/11/10/208573330
---------
Icenetwork: Yuzuru has a different strategy, then?

Orser: Yuzu is very focused on his quads at the moment. There are six quads in his two programs this season, two of which are quad loops (one in the short and one in the free). He has really stepped it up technically this season. It's a tall order for him, and I needed some time to understand what his strategy was. He wants to use this season to get mileage on these new elements. That means that he had to sacrifice some of his skating at the start of the season. His speed, his spins, his elements were not so good at first, because he was focusing so much on the quads. His step sequence was maybe 70 percent of the level it should be. Once he explained his strategy to me, I totally understood. I understand Javier's strategy as well.

Icenetwork: Do you think that explains why Yuzuru lost at Skate Canada?

Orser: Skate Canada would have been an easy win for him, but he wanted to get some mileage with the quads. He is considering the bigger picture. Now he wants to train the program so the quads will be clean. He wants to feel good prior to the last quad (two of the quads are in the second part of his free skate). Later in the season, he will shift gears to go to a different mindset. The one who has to be patient is me! And the federation, of course, and the fans, who expect something perfect each time. But he is making me a believer.

PICTURES & VIDEOS

This is PV of NHK cup starting being aired these days. The video itself was filmed on that practice days in middle of September. I don’t know if this is the first time this interview is disclosed.

As always, they introduces 4 loop after his injury.
He says what he is trying to do this season is a big challenge, but he is sure he can get so many achievements by going it through.
Then, they show his rivals, rising youngstars. But he says his biggest motivation is what he’s achieved until now. This is Olympics title or the highest scores of the world. They have a firm presence in him and such remarkable accomplishments make him move forward.
Further he says he’s never felt regret including the period he couldn’t do practice and he has no limitation. He strongly believes that he can.

Nishikawa duvet campaign

Yuzu's Nishikawa super wide poster at Shinjuku & Nagoya metro stations #1, #2. Hundreds of Yuzu postcards pasted on the posters for everyone to take (looks like 3 designs #1, #2). When all postcards are taken, the original billboard design will be shown.

This is such a sweet photo

Magazine ads

News reported the postcards were taken in just few hours. During the campaign period, customer will get limited edition poster calendar. (google translated this "また、専用はがきで応募すると羽生選手のオリジナル膝掛けなどが抽選で当たる" as "Also, if you apply with a dedicated postcard, you will win the original knees of Hanyu players by lottery" )

Bathclin campaign

Bathclin Kikiyu bath salts campaign, customer will receive a postcard of Mr. Kikiyu (Yuzuru) in the package. The three postcards design .

Bathclin will launch a new "Kikiyu special edition" planned jointly with ANA on November 28. The slogan "Body health is going to evolve".

ANA's Wingspan

Photos of Yuzu's article in ANA's Wingspan magazine #1, #2, #3, #4, shared by Amor Detaza @YHIFG FB. The article is available in both Japanese and English. I believe the content is the same as the online article which has been shared before.

(google translated this "また、専用はがきで応募すると羽生選手のオリジナル膝掛けなどが抽選で当たる" as "Also, if you apply with a dedicated postcard, you will win the original knees of Hanyu players by lottery" )
love the translation. what's translated into knees (膝掛け) is like this.http://enesuke.jp/re9/images/71ty8d-T-L._SL1000_.jpg a lap robe?
in Japanese, the word means something to cover knees. so the google translation is such.

It's the continuation of the Ice Jewells interview.

Okay, Dutch Eurosport commentators weren't very talkative (there was no SP airing and the FS only in recap), and a bit repetitive. *shrug*

FS commentary:
They feel Yuzu’s fourth place after the SP is not Yuzuru worthy.

“Orser has made a very difficult free skate for him. Just like in the SP, he’s planned a quad loop, and it doesn’t work out. Quad salchow. Double salchow, triple toeloop, should’ve been the second quad (I guess she meant second quad salchow?), and the toeloop, quad, he hadn’t done that one yet, triple axel, double toe, and from nowhere, triple axel, triple salchow, and the triple lutz.
“Yuzuru Hanyu, well, it’s pretty much the story of every season: he sets his sights very high. They work very very hard in the summer, he’s added a new jump, the quad loop, unbelievably difficult, both in the SP and FS not yet successful. He’s got four quads in his program, and they didn’t all work out yet, and he was rather focused on the technique, but I suspect that when it all comes together, the pieces of the puzzle fit, the presentation also gets better and he will once again be of unheard-of excellence. But for now, there’s work to be done, but he has time, because he will be skating at the final GP at the end of November.”

Gala:
"Yuzuru Hanyu was second here in Skate Canada, and that’s not that strange, because he usually isn’t at his very best at the start of the season. That’s because they have a plan, a plan to again skate world records at the end of the season, and this season Brian Orser has made his programs very difficult (her words, not mine), again more difficult than at last season’s Worlds, and at the start of the season, logically that won’t always work out yet.
"Such a brilliant show program once again by Yuzuru Hanyu, who won the free skate here, but the gap with Patrick Chan was too large. He was fourth in the SP, but he has set his sights high, two quad jumps in the SP including the quad loop, which he has newly added, and also the quad loop in the FS, as well as two quad salchows and a toeloop planned, so really very difficult. This weekend the loop didn’t work out yet, but I predict that will change very soon,. I suspect that later at the GPF, maybe he will already skate a new world record. I respect (not suspect but respect, bit odd choice of words, even in Dutch) that very much, he is so good, and yet every year, they want to become even better. Every time searching for new difficulties."

[Eng Sub][日本語字幕] Tatiana Tarasova commented about Yuzuru Hanyu (at CoR)

the video of the scene and the translation by our member were already posted in this thread a few days ago.

This reminds me of what Kurt Browning said about his jumps back in 2011. https://youtu.be/NbqDES41LCQ?t=1m12s

His innate musicality helps out with that, but that can also be detrimental when he doesn't get that rhythm to align with the music like with the 3Lz-3T for the Chopin SP. I think the only time he landed it that season was when he stopped trying to fit it to the music.

Hmm, I may have to revise my upper statement then because if I am reading this correctly, he'll be concentrating on the jumps now which would exclude any choreo focus. They probably shifted that for later on as it's easier.

The rest is making me giggle.

I like Yuzuru's strategy specially now that the Olympic season is just around the bend (but I still do like is that even though he is focusing more for now on the tech, his programs don't feel like some jumpalooza). Go Yuzuru!!! :hap10:

Also to think that Brian is the one to have to be patient is just :laugh2:

So judging from this it seems like he is going to be focusing on jumps now, and after he gets them together, probably they will go more into the skating?

This part sums up everything basically : " The one who has to be patient is me! And the federation, of course, and the fans, who expect something perfect each time. " :laugh2:

Don't worry Yuzuru, I didn't and won't expect you to be perfect each time  Not bombing too hard would be more than enough to make me happy :hap10:

I don't expect him to be perfect either, but it breaks my heart to see him so disappointed with himself :( i don't want to see that same face after the past SP...

I don't like seeing it either but at the same time, I'm glad that he shows he is frustrated and not satisfied-- reflects that competitive fire I love about him. But it'll be most satisfying when we see that joy he showed last year at NHK when he's sooooo happy about his performance. Let's look forward to that. ;)
