We also know that Brian was surprised when he heard that Yuzuru wanted to ask for his coaching, and asked Javi about what he thought about that. Javi replied he would very welcome Yuzuru, so Brian decided to accept Yuzuru. I'm happy to know the people surrounding Yuzuru are very caring to others

Yuzu would have never treated Nanami that badly, that is not to advise her of his moving, his ethic is beyond amazing and has never changed since he was a kid. This is one of the reason I massively respect him.

Back to Brian bashing? Four years of total obsession with something Yuzuru chose to do for his own career? Gosh, some people have to get a life.

Mine is telling me to go camping, lol. I like the vodka purchase ad better... or maybe both at the same time.

Just want to point out that Yuzu staying in Toronto or going back to Japan to train are not his only options if, for whatever reason, he feels the need to change his coaching situation.

Raf Arutunian sounds very open to coaching any skater from any country who asks for his help. In fact, he went out of his way to emphasize that point at the beginning of that recent interview he did. ;)

I hope it doesn't come to that for Yuzu because changing coaches always carries a certain amount of risk, especially so close to the Olympics.

Still, as my father liked to say, it's always good to have options. Especially when millions of dollars are at stake.

I'd hate to bash Nanami - I have huge respect for her, I love her interaction with Yuzuru, so tangibly sweet and trustful, and I do think she did her absolute best for her best student ever. But it was a small-scale business, and while Yuzuru's success with her was incredible, there were aspects of his training which were sadly overlooked while he was there - most probably, because the rink was crowded and the ice time was limited etc. But Yuzuru had to make an enormous effort of catching up on work on his stamina, his conditioning, his skating skills - things people were always criticising him for. He did and still does work on those - and he needs constant supervision and help and advice from people who are on the top of this game. CC has been providing just that.
If Nanami was wise enough to let him go, why should anyone cling to the illusion they know what would have been the best for Yuzuru?

I am kindly offered cheapest flights to Helsinki, still early ... I'd prefer vodka and pillow for now

Mine is telling me to buy a Tokyo Nishikawa pillow :bed:

And I've no advertisement! :(
Wait, that is good - they're catering for me!

Nah, back to skiing suits advertisement. I hate skiing, thank you!

.

After Raf's comments about one and two-foot skating and transition, I hope not. Choosing a place to train is not only about training environment, but skating ideals. Yuzuru's idea of skating is a balanced technical and artistic performance, with transition in-and out as well as in between elements. It is not only about his technical element but also good execution. That is why coach who majorly focused on tech (or the other way around, majorly on artistry) will likely won't suit him.

Tsuzuki-sensei likes this.
I admire him for teaching Yuzuru the pure technique from when he was such a small kid. He had no pre rotation at all in the toe jump when he was 10. Certainly it was Tsuzuki-sensei's influence. I remember he also taught a lot of Japanese current top coaches.

I trust you to drink some vodka for my behalf. I'm forever banned from the stuff, sadly...
We can all have a camp fire party and add some vodka-free cocktails
(although I'm not really the camping type  bad memories from music festival camping grounds)

I don't get those anymore since I've booked my flight months ago

I think TCC is a great environment for Yuzuru. He has a wonderful group of people supporting him because it's not only Brian that's coaching him, Tracy is there as well. But regardless of how great something is, sometimes you just reminisces about the past, your roots.

I have no horse in the race, Yuzuru is wise enough to decide what he wants and needs and right now that's Brian and TCC. I just thought it would be nice if and when he accomplish his goals after PC that he relaxes a little closer to home and I was being sentimental lol.

I forget how dramatic everything is in here sometimes. Always gotta be one way or the other. :eeking:

Though it makes for fun popcorn.

It's getting rather old to watch the same drama over and over. Especially when you know there's no real drama behind it. :)
Let's see some new stuff, for a change!
So what are your bets, does Yuzu change his SP costume?

my bets are change for GPF not now, he hasn't been in JPN to change them

Just when I am getting used to all this blinding white??? I think maybe some detail on his leg will change, so we can see him better. Personally, I'd take a totally different style to the whole thing, but he is who he is and I doubt he will do that. I just hope he keeps his hair like that :)
