Oh lord, I just came home to 18 new pages at this thread, I still didn't read anything here. Y'all have no chill. :eekn: At least I managed to follow the men's forum live during class because I couldn't handle myself (lmao), so I don't have to read more 40 something pages. :dbana:

Now about what matters: I can't believe I'm putting on repeat the very same program that I told that could be decent but not one of my favourites of him. He just oozes confidence and the costume change does help I must say, although the mismatch of lavender tones is a bit distracting but I don't mind that much honestly (I love lavender to bits). The pattern of the vest also changed, did anyone notice it? It's blueish.

I swear that anyone else with that program would make me just stare blankly at the screen or roll my eyes (nothing about the choreography it fits the theme, it's just that my natural tolerance of cheese isn't high and 90% of the skaters who could try this program would probably look silly for me), but I was all smiles while he was skating, I cannot. And it's not just because I'm a helpless fan and a lost cause, I know it's hard but try to believe me. :rofl2: Even after the program was done and at the K&C his attitude and body language gave no doubts of his confidence level yet he seemed quite relaxed and still well mannered as usual. Also, his facial expressions were on point I found myself grinning.

Loled hard at the flower that landed perfectly at Brian O' shoulder, what a flawless aim that fan had. He should've kneeled down and offered it to Yuzuru as he was getting out of the ice. lmfao.

Looking forward to the LP and the wonderfulness of the Yuzuru and Joe Hisaishi combination again. :luv17: What a wonderful set of program he has this year yet again, we're so spoiled.

now onto reading these pages, heLp

I like this program and music more and more, and it fits this forum when you think about it.
Let's go crazy .... what is the costume going to be, how is his health, his hair, etc.....
Let's go crazy ... how insane can he make his program?
Yes it fits him and his fans so everyone "Let's go crazy" :)

that's a perfect motto for Yuzuru fans, anyway! :) The only problem is that once you've gone crazy, you can't go off it and get sane again - for the sake of going crazy... :)

Sanity is overrated. The world is much better with Yuzuru's Let's go crazy ... it has music, colour, glitter and a smile :)

I'm going to spend the night watching his skate over and over with a happy smile...
Morozov should be made to watch this performance and asked whether Yuzuru can perform even when he fluffs his jumps now and again!

It's nice that in competition he can sing the words and smile a lot during his program. I know he smiled at the end during Chopin last year, especially at World's, but not nearly as much as with this one, and Seimei didn't lend itself to much smiling... so it's nice he can just enjoy skating and performing once the loop and combo are done. The feeling was almost like an exhibition out there. I love it when he can do that...he just sells it more and seeing someone enjoy skating is the cherry on top. So many skaters look like deer in headlights out there, so this is especially nice.

About that NM interview posted some (lots) pages back with the Mercedes and Toyota etc., I hate to sound stupid, but was that an actual interview? Like, not a parody of some sort?

I like the Italians. Yes, Hanyu's greatest rival is himself.

We've got the Germans too, if someone would be so kind

They said how "let's go crazy" perfectly describes his program and they are amazed at his 3A
They say he is "unbelievable"

Oh, and they are talking about his 4LO and that he is the only one who is able to jump it

OMG! Daisuke is funny.
He says his skating was nice and feels the confidence.
About 4loop, he says the jump itself isn’t so bad, has enough height. He guess that yuzu had the feeling of getting it too much, so he got tension and the axis went bad.
About his costume, he says this costume denies someone who doesn’t have a physique like yuzu. Daisuke laughed that it’s impossible for himself. Purple for whole body from bottom to upper is just difficult.:drama:

Dai has worn his share of horrendous Purple costumes. http://blogs.c.yimg.jp/res/blog-56-88/masqueradewaltz/folder/423906/53/5991653/img_0

I'm not sure who the commentators are :slink: we'll call them Dude One and Dude Two.
(I think dude one is Sigi Heinrich and dude two is Hendrik Schamberger. No guarantee, though)

1: Now comes the star of this event, and that's none other than the Olympic champion of Sochi and World champion of Saitama, who then twice lost against his buddy Javier Fernandez at the World Championships, but still... Yuzuru Hanyu from Sendai. One of the most popular and most influential figure skaters of the past four or five years. ("influential" isn't quite the right word. It's more like "defining" as in he defines figure skating and the direction it takes... something like that)

2: We just saw him imitate an element that only he can do: the quad loop. (before he takes his starting position)

1: Let's go crazy by Prince. Maybe not a bad motto considering this program.

(after the 4Lo)

1/2: Not bad

1: Amazing that he managed to land this

2: Well, that he didn't fall, because you can't really call this a good landing (I'm paraphrasing because I don't know how to properly translate this :roll9: in German they literally say "to stand a jump" when they mean that it was properly landed). But whatever, it was landed backwards, and that was the quad loop that nobody else will risk.

1: With such a tilted position in the air – amazing.

(after the 3A)

1: This is simply amazing

2: Yes. He's aiming at a score in the 90s with this. Awesome 3A with preparation (I suppose he means steps into it and all)

1: He's more aiming at a score in the 100s. I think.

(after he finished)

1: (no idea how to directly translate the first part) Amazing skate/program (something like that). Unbelievable. Yuzuru Hanyu. Yes, yes, that loop still bugs him a little, but otherwise... just now I see that Axel again in my mind's eye, like he didn't jump up from the ice but like he came from the air, from the sky, just, a huge jump. Unbelievably good.

2: Just the way he goes into that jump...

1: And the flow out of it.

2: ... and then the flow out of it, yes, that's really amazing how easily he can do this, that he chooses to do such a difficult entry and then can land it with such incredible security.

1: 4S-3T, that combination looked like it was the easiest thing to do. (technical elements) presented like they were child's play, within an incredible program – he is so good.

2: And he still gave some points away with the mistakes on the loop, but all in all that was an incredibly strong performance.

1: He and Fernandez, you really get the impression that they push men's figure skating forward.

2: Boyang Jin has surely contributed to this as well

1: And Patrick Chan.

2: Yeah he maybe not so much with the jumps (1: well yeah sure), but the Chinese has set new standards last year, and I think these two have followed suit. Ultimately, also Patrick Chan is more following suit rather than he has pushed anything forward; now the Canadian also has put a second quad in his program.

1: And then there's Shoma Uno, (paraphrasing) who also shows what he can do. The four we have named are the ones who currently give figure skating this incredible esprit.

2. I think you're right, he's probably going into the 100s with this, because the mistake with the loop didn't cost him that much.

1: Tremendous program from Yuzuru Hanyu.

2: This is going to be extremely exciting at the finale when Frenandez, Chan and Hanyu will meet – unbelievable.

1: Shoma Uno also qualified. ... Getting over 100 points in a short program, for Yuzuru Hanyu that's not exactly cause to buy everyone drinks afterwards. That's more like a daily routine. (show the replay of after the program and how he makes that sign with his fingers)... yes and he says "there was just a tiny bit missing", with the loop of course. By now all of the quads – except for the Axel, of course – all the quads have been done now. There's always somebody who can do one of them. (scores are about to come up). Score will be about 104, maybe 103, I don't know.

2: Well, not bad. I'll enroll you as a judge for next year.

1: Thanks a lot. Well, 103.89, just in the middle. So he goes in the lead. By a small margin, right?

2: ehm... 13 points, no, more like 16 points.

1: 16 points! Incredible. Well, comparing this to Patrick Chan last week, he's the clear leader with this SP.

I finally got the chance to watch Yuzu....and all I could do was stare in amazement.
First things first: the costume! I absolutely LOVE the purple costume. No one else can pull off costumes like this but him, and it's so nice to be able to clearly see his legs and arms. And all the sparkle on the shirt are wonderful! It's Prince, so why not?
Now, the performance. WOW. Yeah there was that small mistake with the 4Lo but that 4S+3T was a thing of beauty, he made it look so easy and effortless, one almost forgets he's doing a quad. And of course his trademark 3A, perfect as always, but that's no surprise ;)
We know you wanted more points Yuzu, but don't worry, you'll get your WR soon enough :cheer:
All in all, I'm glad he could skate like this at home and I hope this carries on to the FS! I'll definitely be up and watching it live (God bless the weekends)
