Who estimates this body fat percentage and how precise it is? Hanyu should have some fat in his body for it to be natural, no way he doesn't have it and I think it's visible he does. Otherwise it is not healthy. Also, he's built some muscle mass, he looks quite differennt to his 19-yo self. He needs all of this to execute such a difficult layout.

Idk how but yesterday I went to a gym and they weighed me. They have a program which shows inmmediately what percentage of the weight is fat, liquids or bone mass. The program showed that the ideal percentage of fat is between 20-31 % of the weight, and I was quite below of it,so the monitor was a bit .So If Yuzuru only has 2-3 %, then it's incredible. Maybe someone with medicine studies can explain this things.

Video of Yuzuru chatting with Jun Hwan during gala practice

From tumblr allyuzurustuff original source from weibo
will quote :
1) Evgenia showing yuzu a xylitol white bottle with his face printed on it

2) Yuzu asking who gave it to her and saying in his cute voice: GOOD JOB~

3) Yuzu showing everyone his newly acquired Tokyo Ghoul bottle and establishing his identity as a great anime fan he seemed so proud oh god 😂

stupid question time: am I the last one to see that they're doing Satoko's guts pose exercise at the end of their gala introduction? looks like choreographer Hanyu was impressed by the move

So this is how pooh-san lost his first kiss (or not)
I think it was, the one with Maia was on the cheek, here, our mischievous little Pooh went face first :laugh2: . Evgenia will never wash her face again

Looks like the space kitten slipped up. Soon he will reveal his true nature and his home planet :p not like we didn't all know already
Maybe it was the actual creation of Planet Hanyu! Good, that means that after nationals it will probably be habitable and we can go and live there

Maybe i-m too picky about this but i was looking at the photos and i could only think "For the love of God, Yuzu trim your nails!"
I started to imagine the sound of his nails tapping the ice. I hate accidental nail tapping noises

For body fat percentage, there are simple methods to do this, even using the scale, but then it depends if you're a male or female and IIRC, they measure various points of your body, like waist, hips, thighs, arms in women or the pinch test.
You can also use a BOD POD (air-displacement plethysmography). It's about 50 pounds in the UK and it gives you the proportion of total fat mass and lean body mass which is overall your body composition. As far as I know, a lot of athletes use one, especially when there's a need to see how you're responding to your training regimen (it's used by regular people, especially when in need of a proper diet).

Then there's the DEXA thing or iDXA. The US olympic team has this. They do a full body scan (it's x-rays) and then it spits out highly accurate numbers on total body fat, lean body mass, bone density, images of tissues, and this thing gives you regional compositions (so different body parts). I guess he probably did this at some point, as an elite athlete.

I remember Michael Jordan's body fat was measured at 4% and this was considered extremely low therefore often mentioned. Honestly, I am not sure about the 2% because that sounds way too low for me (and I've heard of instances of this causing problems with muscles) but he is very slim, due to his body type so who knows. I definitely wouldn't be surprised if they low-balled that a bit, and it's actually around 4% but even if that's the case, that's still pretty much on the bottom limit.

I think there was an interview when he said that it was 4%?

That sounds quite plausible, and still the lowest on the scale really. The Ice Time estimate in that post on the other page of 1-2% really sounds off to me because if you're that low you start burning muscle tissue. I'm no expert though and someone may know better.

He's definitely put on more muscle though, it's visible and his stamina is much improved, also visible, compared to how it used to be, with easier programs than the ones he has now.

In his Aoi Honoo it is said that his body fat is 4-5%. During competition it is 5 and ice show it is 4 and during rest period it could increase to 8. I think 1-2 is a very low estimate. It was estimated by tv show before that it is 3 %, but based on his biography it is 4-5 so I think it is pretty okay?

ETA : According to Yuzuru himself in the book, he thinks 5% is the ideal number and 4 is too low. Lol.

Found it! Apparently he said it in Aoi Honoo II (haven't had the time to try and read it ORZ)
TL;DR:
Normally, during ice shows, it’s about 4%. During competitions, it’s about 5%. Ice shows are sometimes twice in a row, so my body fat gradually decreases. The 5% during competition time is best I think

This makes me feel obese, i have like six times that amount but i don't even have noticeable belly fat, i don't even look fat. How.

Yeah, I am not surprised he thinks 4% is too low, thank you so much for the information, I had no idea he talked about this too. It is the lower limit, 5% for men, so considering his sport and build, it doesn't surprise me. But 4-5% is perfectly all right, not unhealty but definitely fascinating. He really does have the ideal body, doesn't he?

And really, the media should check around a bit before they give out numbers, not so much for Yuzuru's sake but people get body goals and that can turn unpleasant.

ETA
@YuzusHydroblade -men and women have completely different standards.

oh yes i know that, we need more fat than men. But still, i mean, you look at me and you wouldn't think of me as fat, in fact i look very healthy. It's mind boggling to think just how thin Yuzuru must look in real life, i can't wrap my head around that

I thought Yuzu was just posing for Evgenia, but he really does like Tokyo Ghoul!

As a Tokyo Ghoul fan this makes me so happy!

Quick! Someone gift him Kaneki's mask!

It's possible she might have gotten him that keychain; she also gave him a button
