Oh goodness, according to TSL, Nathan is already better than Hanyu in SS and TR!
I enjoyed Tracy Wilson's interview, but... personally do not feel comfortable watching the hosts interview because they stare with wide eyes (especially Dave, who might have tired dry eyes- i sympathize).

They are talking about Patrick. Chan, not Chen. But they also don't think LGC is a good program, or H&L so
They were kind of all over the place because they referred to Yuzu and Chan's PCS for the SP but then went onto talk about the LPs and the mistakes there as if the scores referred to those programs

That makes more sense. While Patrick's SS is better, Yuzu's transitions would be better right? I just felt offended they usually seem biased against Yuzuru. I was hoping to hear something more positive.
Probably should stop hoping they'd change.

yeah two of them looked closer than ever during GPF 2016. I am so glad to see that they understand each other better and became closer before the Olympic season.
I just clicked the link on my ipad sitting in the train. Saw the picture and didn't know how fast I had to click away again. I know what it is, but not so sure about the elderly lady next to me... ;-)

For me TSL is loads of (bitchy) fun and listening is how I got deeper into figure skating. But Dave isn't a Yuzu fan
Actually I think he ends up being harsher to the man on top, because he never held back on critiquing Patrick either. Didn't he invent the term inflation?Lately I like what Kurt Browning has to say. And Tracy Wilson is always a treat. She is so caring. She deserves more credit for the Cricket Club's success. It's nice to hear Yuzuru mentioning her recently.

Patrick has lots of TR as well but unfortunately for him, they are usually not the big moves in the field like spread eagles, ina bauers and other, he uses mainly steps combinations but for many people, myself included, it doesn't seem like he has a lot of TR. Yuzuru has not only the big moves, but can also utilize the difficult steps.
As far as SS are concerned, I don't think Yuzuru is really behind Patrick. Patrick shows off his deep edges more often, but Yuzuru is better at gaining speed and maintaining flow to his elements. I'd say both of them are really close and above anyone else.
To sum it up, someone might think Patrick might have an advantage over Yuzuru, but even if that is true, it is really slight nowadays. I think Yuzuru has the edge overrall.

I listened to the podcast with Brian. It was very interesting.
Regarding Yuzuru, Brian mentioned about the quad axel and quad lutzes too. (It was funny because Nick initially mentioned that Javi wanted to do quad axel and Brian was like are you sure??? "for Javi???" and Nick corrected it saying it was Yuzuru and Brian just laughed and said "Well, I was going to say...". Brian said he thought Yuzuru has the best triple axel in the planet, technically too. Thus you will never know, he said probably (lol).
Brian said he advised Yuzuru to do 4S 4T in the sp instead of 4lo after SC but Yuzuru was against it, saying he needs to do 4Lo now, and make all the mistake this season, so next year he doesn't need to go through this. Brian ended up agreeing with him and thought he was right, that it is not important to win skate canada and it is more important to do more 4Lo in competition under pressure. Mentioned how competitive Yuzuru is and how he also landed quad lutzes, thus he said the jump was on the horizon for Yuzuru. But at the same time, they are being cautious about injury especially since it is approaching the olympic season.
So far this one is what caught my attention the most, lol.

TSL is not hosted by it's not tracy wilson but by Dave Lease and the guest is jonathan beyer (tbh, i don't know who he is
) . And sponsored by JOHN Wilson..from what I observe with TSL is that they don't have their own opinion. I mean, they will always just agree with what their guest said. If the guest said he/she feel that Hanyu in over scored blah blah blah they will just say "I agree". and if another guest compliments Hanyu they will also agree. And when you are on top people are determined to pull you down.

Just watched Yuzu's EX from 2016 Worlds for the first time...almost brought me to tears, it was so beautiful. I haven't seen him skate with such emotion in a competitive program before (but then again, there are jumps and spins and levels you need to worry about in a competitive program). The music was so poignant (requiem for the great east japan earthquake) and you can tell he really, really loves Japan. It looks like he was almost in tears at the end, too, but with everything that happened that season, along with injuries and losing Worlds just days before, I can understand how he must have been feeling. Oh, and I actually saw this program live, too! I was in Boston that day, but I got the cheapest ticket I could find and was barely able to see anything. Plus, I had not really known much about Yuzu at the time, so I wasn't able to appreciate it.
Can't believe I've only started really following him since NHK this year. It feels like it's been a lifetime :luv17: Fly, Yuzu!
