PW was not safe/conservative... apart from the fact it was its second season, I guess. Otherwise it was quite different for him.

I guess most skaters go "safe" during the Olympic year and she figures he'll do that as well. It's as good a theory as any at this point. They find what worked best during the cycle and go back to that style.

Yep. Not just in the context of layout though, but programs. Then again parissienne walkways is not something I considered as conservative too.

Oh Parissienne walkways :luv17: (my beginning hahaha)Maybe he'll do it like that...His SP will be something that is AWESOME and make you want more. Because he knew that even if he messed up his SP —unless everyone is really great that night and end up like Mao at Sochi (I hope not tho :noshake:), he can still win the LP and end-up winning the OGM

Charts of Yuzuru's Stsq and GOE. (blue is level 4 while green is level 1-3) (Chan is included in here too)
Yuzu got maximum GOE for Stsq4 in SP twice at Autumn Classic and GPF this year. For Stsq3 he got Max GOE in SP at 2015 GPF and 2016 world. :)

Haha, yeah :) Well I guess we will see how he will do with LGC and HnL for the rest of the season first. Having a contrasting program between SP and FS like he did now would be splendid. :luv17:

So... no news about his health? I'm expecting him to return with a message: "i am healthy now and i will resume my training soon."
😢 i hope he feels better now...

Hi, I'm a Japanese Hanyu fan who have been an occasional lurker over this thread for years (I first visited this thread around the time Hanyu-kun moved to Tronto). I have always been impressed with all of you dedicated overseas fans and was reluctant to intervene here until now.

However, I found some posts in this and another hanyu-related thread saying there were people who were trying to collect signatures for a petition to JSF asking for Hanyu to be excluded from the Japanese WC team under the guise of blood donation campaign at the national competition site, which awfully surprised me because I knew this turned out to be highly likely just a false rumor and not a fact at all later on, besides the one I saw was another different version, not under the guise of a blood donation but the one calling for "no waiting for childcare centers." Of course, no one was caught. A little fuss, especially on twitter, over this issue disappeared soon and those tweets reporting such incorrect info were almost deleted now. There seems to have been no post yet here to correct it, so I decided to post this.

Though I didn't go to the event nor did I even pay much attention to and follow a fuss during it was happening since I have no twitter account, as far as I searched, to make it simple, here is probably what happened:

1. Someone(s) posted seemingly copy-pasted texts asking possible visitors for their signatures on site for a petition demanding JSF to eliminate Hanyu's name from the list of the WC team on multiple figure skating fan threads a couple days before the competition.

2. 'A' tweeted a warning not to give their signatures to anyone around the event site as they might try to collect them under the guise of, like blood donation or no-waiting-for-nursery-schools campaign that were recently reported fraud cases.

3. 'B' tweeted, "There seems to have been those people who were trying to collect signatures under the guise of blood donation campaign." 'C' tweeted, "There seems to have been those people who were trying to collect signatures under the guise of no-waiting-for-nursery-schools campaign."

4. 'D' tweeted, "I read that there were those blah blah blah....under the guise of blood donation campaign."
'E' tweeted, "I heard that there were those blah blah....under the guise of no-waiting-for-nursery-schools campaign."

5. 4 spread quickly and widely.

6. No reports that have actually witnessed such signature-collecting thing.

You know, it is said that in general, twitter users are very susceptible to false rumors and tend to spread one very easily without confirming its sources. The Twitter system is a kind of advanced version of telephone games so it can easily be a huge false rumor generator by its nature.

Besides, there is a long history of various harrassments/hate campaigns against Hanyu by hardcore antis behind this story. Also many Japanese Hanyu fans are always bothered with and tired of persistent slanders, fabrications and such against Hanyu by anti fans as well as unreasonable criticisms or underestimations on their own country's star even by some biased figure skating writers. So I understand why they tend to be so oversensitive.

Anyway, you have to be very careful when you post quotes from tweets or any other kind secondhand info that are written assertively especially if they are negative things. I would sometimes notice mistranslation here but if it's just a trifle mistake or harmless to anyone, I wouldn't care. But this time, I could not overlook it. I don't want anyone to spread this groundless info any more. I bet that those antis would be willing to use this case as an excuse to tell a lie.

I always thought this fan thread is quite peaceful and comfortable with far fewer anti comments against Hanyu or no throwing dirt at other skaters. I hope this thread will continue to be a pleasant and useful oasis for every Hanyu fan!

Hi gomadara! Thank you for the confirmation and welcome :) Post often

Confirmation of what though? Because I do recall

Anyways my friend who was on venue confirmed those actions re faking Yuzu's blood donation papers and asking people to sign false petitions. They were caught on lie quite fast tho.

In other words, who is this person again and I should listen to that why exactly?
A Hanyu fan who's been watching this thread for years but just now needs to intervene no less with those oversensitive Hanyu fans and give a lecture on Twitter because we of course know nothing about it. They've not been at the venue, they don't have Twitter, they didn't follow it but they "know" nobody get caught though how they know is unknown, they've looked around the net, here is probably what happened and I should take their word for it?

Seems awfully invested there our new poster in sweeping this under the carpet. Color me extremely unconvinced because at best with all the 'I don't really care but I must' I'd give it a C+ for the attempt.

My friends did saw some people collected the signatures. Buy they didn't investigate it. So in the end we don't have to think about it, just burdens our mind. After all it's over now. Let's say we should let it go and move on. There is no use of digging on this.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but it seems like you're suggesting that repeating rumors (without actively trying to sabotage other skaters/knowingly spreading false information) that have been spreading about potential anti-Hanyu activity is 'throwing dirt' or something more than just a trifle/harmless mistake. While I'm glad to know it was false, I feel like it's better to be overly cautious? Like the last thing we'd want is for something like that to actually happen and people not repeat said rumor (for fear of spreading false info) and get tricked into signing papers they didn't intend to...

ETA: Agree with Meoima, we should move on...

I had already put it out of my mind to be honest before this but our first time poster there seems way more invested in those anti-fans than Hanyu without actually providing a shred of evidence that this did not happen (when something obviously did) with some very interesting wording there. I do find it hilarious though, so no worries, we can move on :)
PS Oh and I may not linger but I never forget.

It was my misunderstanding that that twitter rumor so much influenced over your thoughts, sorry.

I don't know about Marin's friend (Japanese?) but I can't find any signature collecting witness on venue at least on the net in Japanese language while I saw several posts by event-goers denying that and then the rumor was eventually concluded to be 'false' on the Japanese net. It's very strange. So I still think we should take this case as 'unconfirmed'.

I don't mean it. I think being cautious is always needed but spreading unconfirmed sensitive info assertively as if it is a fact is another thing.

Hi, gomadara, pleased to meet you here. Please post often! :)

Oh, okay. Thank you for the information. Regardless, I'm glad to know that it didn't happen. :)

I hate to harp on this, but no, we don't know that it did not happen. Look at both Marin's and Meoima's posts. That we should not dwell further on it, now that's true.

I do find it a bit strange that someone felt the need to come and say "No! It didn't happen!" :ohwell:
