OMG, those tags...LOCO LOCO LOCO....Uhm, what? 46 kudos...can't deny a weird curiosity is happening....what is this?

LMFAO I'm almost positive it's a reference to his FS's music lyrics, especially when he mouths the "LOCO LOCO" during the program sometimes.

I knew it was coming and just hoped they keep things on the DL. I can't stand fanfic's about real people, especially non-entertainment people. It's weird and honestly creepy...just imagine if they came across some of those. :disapp:

LOL I was just wondering how he'd feel if he (or any famous person) read fanfics of himself. Like, I'd feel really weird reading about myself having sex, especially having sex with people who I know, and/or dying...

I would probably not react very well to reading explicit fictional material about myself on the internet... particularly if it involved me with say, friends or coworkers etc.... it would creep me out. And him, well, he certainly reacted strongly to just reading gossip in a trashy magazine about him marrying a school friend... so something explicit? even fictional? yeah, that would freak him out, I think (particularly if it hit any type of gossip magazine.. hidden on the internet might be ok)

I'm so sorry but If I was relevant and I knew that there were fanfics about me at the internet I would read all of them ASAP and roll on the floor with the scenarios, even the most absurd ones, it would be absolutely golden. There's two kinds of people.

This doesn't stop me from being weirded out because of the 'creative license' of most of these though.

There's this thing called Rule 34 of the internet...

I've just googled Rule 34 and I'm just :laugh2:

It's kinda unfortunate that so much fic out there is porny because that tends to scare off most decent folk. But there is some good stuff...just gotta avoid the explicit ones like the plague.

I was really into fanfic's for a good decade or so  and there are definitely some amazing ones out there, national award worthy even. Its a shame that the terrible elementary ones get all the hype (twilight, fifty shades, etc). :disagree:

there are some that aren't that bad, like, the dirty parts have a point in the story... But some are just WAAAAY crazy and completely out of character. Those don't even bother me because they are so far from the people there portraying, that it feels like a fictional character lol

Yeah what you said...I don't get porny FF it's like disrespecting the Real person involve.

I think it depends how it's done, tho explicit stuff I usually avoid unless the writing is outstanding. Sex is taboo to talk about in most cultures so it's like a forbidden topic. Doesn't mean that sex is bad tho; I mean, we shouldn't treat it like it's shameful b/c it's not. I think writers who make the effort to try to make the characters close to how they are in real life should be commended? Fic is just another kind of fanart is how I see it.

It's not bad but those things are not to be made public esp. if the main characters are Real people. I don't know how to explain it in english but it's like taking there private life from them. Just imagine Yuzuru as the main character of an exotic FF it's like taking the innocence of Yuzuru's image...well at least that's how i see it...

Honestly i couldn't even picture it 😂 i know he isn't an innocent sexless alien but he looks too innocent to me, i can't imagine him like that, not even with the purple pants of sin. He's too adorable to be sexy 😂

I dunno, I still remember Vertigo *runs off to purge mind of dirty thoughts*

He is too innocent for me that's why I ignore all the photo's of "sin"' from his purple pants. I also close the photo of his butt almost instantly. I know some are just appreciating his features but I am not interested in those things ;) I may want a look of his chest and abs but not lower than that ;)

But when you are basing it on real life people, you should be considerate about how the person feel imo. People react differently to things. Some celebrities are fine with any kind of fanfics, fanedits, fanarts - even NSFW/mature ones - and just think it is funny and laugh it out. Some are not, they might feel offended or even very disturbed.
I think when you are a fan of someone, you would not want to offend/disturb/bother/upset the person you idolize. No matter how "good" your intention might be, that does not mean it would not upset him/her. Forget fanfic. For example, if your idol does not like/is bothered when his/her picture is taken outside official events, then you don't do that, eventhough it might be a harmless thing and s/he will never know/realize.
For things in grey area like this, the line needs to be drawn is whether it actually will upset Yuzuru or not, which maybe we will never know. Thus, because there is a 50:50 chance of him being upset/offended, I'd rather he would never find these kind of things.

Trying to stop fanworks is like trying to hold back the tide. but I agree fans should be respectful whenever they can. Even authors can get sensitive when they see fans playing around with their own fictional characters. It's why fic is so controversial but good fic writers are sensitive to these issues and should never defame or slander their idols or fav characters.

I'm not smart enough to write or draw or make something nice but I think a fanwork should have a warm feeling? It's hard to describe. Like you look at a fanart of Yuzu and go "Wow, that is beautiful. I can tell how much the fan really loves Yuzu and his skating. You can feel their feelings on the page." I dunno...that sounds cheesy but that's how I feel.

The gossip magazine gave false rumor that Yuzuru had a fiancée, then some television went along with it. And Yuzuru got really mad and hurt (he even said so in his book). I don't think he will be fine with the fanfics.

whoaa, fanfic huh? lol, i read many fanfics and recently Yuzuru's too *guilty. I'm okay with fanfic as long as it is well written. I filter myself with avoid some tags. But I hope Yuzuru doesnt found out about it or read it. Thank god, Yuzuru doesn't have any sns. Julia had q&a session with fan in her sns and there is question if she read fanfic about her. Lol, she answered that she is given link and said it's a non-sense.

Wow, I had no idea that happened. That is so not cool and whoever started that rumor at the gossip magazine should be fired. Most fic writers either put up some kind of disclaimer/warning to let people know that their fic is just fiction and/or make their stories obviously AU (like having it take place in another world or with magic or sci-fi) so it's obvious it's just fiction.

Still, totally get why people would feel uncomfortable. Elijah Wood (guy who plays Frodo in Lord of the Rings) said in an interview that RPF's creeped him out b/c they were so realistic he could see them actually happening

I cannot believe we are discussing RPF here. *grins*

For me, RPF is the most normal thing in the world, but then, I have a whole lot of reading (and some *cough* writing *cough*) experience. I already read fanfic more than two decades ago when it was still mainly a print (!) fanzines thing, strictly low-key, and actively lived through its development on the internet. It was only around 2000 or so that some fanfic writers and readers started breaking the unspoken rule that you never showed RPF (or the slash variety!, never mind artwork) to the people you were writing about. These days, that is actually very normal. *shrug*

This day and age, I think it is pretty near impossible that Yuzuru Hanyu (or any other public figure, for that matter) is unaware of what sort of stories are written about him or her and out there on the internet. If they never found out about it themselves, they will probably have been made aware of it, one way or the other, by either the fans or the people around them.

Now that I think about it, I wrote my bachelor thesis at university on legality issues of fanfic. I wonder how out-dated that piece of writing is now, so many years later... Back then, people had much more moral problems with it than now, though, that's for sure. ;-)

Fan Fictions about a certain celebrity is quite common (I also write some) and I don't think it's offensive. But like I said exotic or porny themed FF is a different story. The celebrity involve may get very offended because the authors are staining the innocence of there images. I think Yuzuru or any other celebrities knows that there are FF written about them but they just don't waste their time reading about it. They have a lot in their plate already to be thinking about those things.
