^^ Thank you NordEsque! And it is, sigh.

Thank you! And hopefully I have that right because my brain is really sluggish.

But yes, 60% is actually pretty good. If he is aiming for next season then that's a great place to be at this point. Knowing him I doubt we'll see it until he's hitting around 75% at least. Or in an emergency, which hopefully not. I have no idea but has to be someone from there, he calls it trusted sources and how would he know about the sals otherwise?

Yep. His 4Lo was 60-70% (around 3 out of 4) at the beginning of this season (accd to Brian) but his success rate at competition is only about 50%. Kolyada's success rate for 4Lz is 50% in practice, but if I am not wrong he has not land it in competition yet. So even though a jump is successful at practice, competition is a different beast; I remember Yuzu said his 4S success rate in oly season is 80-90% in practice but he barely land them in competition (but now he can do 4Slo4S, what a time to be alive lol). I am guessing unless he has a 70-80 % success rate (about 3 out of 4/ 4out of 5) he would not include it yet (and 4CC and world title is at stake here, he won't want to risk it maybe).

P.S : max ambesi replied to someone, saying the jump is "almost ready" and the question is just whether to include it this season or next season. This info is juicy, really, lol.

That's interesting, but not surprising, I think after or before NHK he talked that he can now land 4lz consistently with step out, so propably it is much better by now

You have no idea how happy it makes me to know that we're standing on the same continent, it's the closest i'll be to him unless i can save up enough money for next season (and he gets skate canada again...) I wish i could do more to support him but well, i guess it'll have to do with gushing with you guys here
Also, HAPPY FEBRUARY, it's still an hour away for me but...
WE MADE IT THROUGH JANUARY!!
Now, to wait for 4CC :D!! I already changed my calendar at work (Yuzu in Chopin costume) and marked the 4CC dates hahaha

Hi, thanks for your sharing. I’ve learnt a lot about those technical things from you guys.:)

Actually, some questions have been in my mind::rolleye::scratch2:

To me, the details of the layout/ components and strategies of competitions are very personal matters. In sports, very often, it is confidential or very sensitive. So, when I see Yuzu, quite often, to the press, ‘very generously’ reveals or shares his strategies, plans, or thoughts about his programs/ components/ competitions. I feel uncomfortable and worried :frown: as it is not what I used to know about sports before knowing him.

Frankly, if Yuzu had pm/ email/ social network accounts, I would send those thoughts there instead of here.

I personally avoid posting sensitive issues on the Internet for the sake of Yuzu. But that issue is very crucial to him, so I have to express what I've expressed. To me, that is the most sensitive issue I have posted so far. I will not write something similar again.:p

Yuzu is very precious, he should be protected at all costs (that is also a saying I often see from the posts of Yuzu’s fans).

he could still manage to do 4S combo in the second half without risking REP deduction if he scrambles his layout a bit. He is doing 4Lo 4S 3F / 4S3T 4T 3A2T 3Alo3S 3Lz now. But if he wants some sort of "insurance" plan for his layout, he can do 4Lo 4T 3F / 4S3T 4S 3A2T 3Alo3S 3Lz. If he nails his combo all is well; if he fails, he still has a second chance to attach it to the second 4S. He seems to be able to do 4S as a last jump so I don't think doing 2 4S in the 2nd half is a problem for him.

Um, well, figure skating is kind of a performance sports not a sport where you actually go up against someone like in tennis, football or basketball where strategy and tactics are really a keypoint in winning and defeating your opponent. As far as I know, skaters do send their layout before competition to the organizer. A skater can say he will do x number of quads and do this or do that BUT it will not affect how other skaters performance will be. And unlike in other sports where you will change your game plan depending on who you are up against, it is rare for a skater to change their layout and/or program mid-season. And when they do, it has nothing to do with their opponent, but because they themselves are uncomfortable with it and think they will do better. It's not like he will just do 2 quad when he compete in CS, 3 in GP and then do 7 during GPF and WC.

I disagree about the part where Yuzu is generous in revealing his strategy etc. In fact, among skaters, he is, in my opinion, the one that is probably one of those who are most secretive about his layout and training plan. He only revealed through media day and press con + official interview, and rarely do it casually. I don't know if you follow other skaters or not, but they are very open in what jump they trained, the success rate, their plan for future layout, their music choice, even training strategy etc. They even posted jumps that they practiced on social media. Some of them even babbled about how they will do x jump or y jump but it never came to fruition :noshake:

NordEsque, it's not odd at all to start working on a new program now. Jason had plans to start on his in December, but of course, due to the injury it sort of got shifted, but not odd.

This really is juicy info
And gives us something to talk about for the next two weeks or so. No, seriously though, it's great to know. I agree with Max though, I doubt we'll see it this season. Too much is at stake to risk adding a new quad and there's no need really. He still hasn't gone fully clean in the SP, never mind the FS with what he has now and if he does, it's enough for this season. Honestly the biggest change I can envision for 4CC is perhaps the 4Lo-3T. I just hope he doesn't feel the need to oh I don't know, throw in the 4Lz as a last jump or something at some point....:slink:

But it makes perfect sense now that he's spoken of it so, as well as Brian if it's that good in practice. I feel like buying Max a cake or two.

Oh I expect a new FS next season for sure but it's kind of way too early for me to be thinking about it when one major test is coming up in this season. I do hope he'll get to skate a clean H&L, because it's such a beautiful program that needs to be that to shine fully and it deserves that. And when better than at 4CC and Worlds

Yuzu will probably compete at the Team Trophy, right? Perhaps he could test out the 4lz there, like Shoma did the 4F last year.

I was going to say it might have to do with the fact that he doesn't have public-facing social media accounts. But then I remembered when Oda tried to have him give more details about his training in a studio interview after NHK. Yuzuru just refused, sweet smile and all, and said it was a secret. Your post reminded me of that XD IMO he tends to be most blabby in press conferences straight after competition, to an extent. And what he plays with in gala practices can show glimpses of what he's considering.

Yuzu will probably compete at the Team Trophy, right? Perhaps he could test out the 4lz there, like Shoma did the 4F last year.

Can't imagine he'll refuse if he's healthy and well. Since the cat is out of the bag, and team is talking about 4Lz in public, no point of hiding a 4Lz if he can test it out in competition.

Ah, thank you :) Also I agree, doubt he will add 4Lz this season, I don't even think he will do anything with 4Lo given that he has been a bit inconsistent on it thus far

I re-read the post, thought first it was implying that Javier was changing his SP for Worlds17 - this is what happens when I'm on the forum while I should be studying :palmf:

Also I'm sooo curious now to see how Yuzuru's 4Lz looks like :hap85:

Why. Are. There. So. Many. Days. Left. To. 4CC. Still :bang:

Actually listening TSL I think Hanyu should bring upgraded Seimei for Olympics and skate it clean there as it didn't worked at Worlds ;)

i actually want him try another seimei dance from onmyouji 2 credit, for gala. when seimei dance in miko uniform
the music actually has been used for last part of Seimei and i think it's rather hard to replicate legs movement. but it's so beautiful

I admit I don't see him resurrecting his old programs, except in an EX of some sort. I would not complain seeing an improved Seimei that way! :luv17:

Just wait till we get to the post Worlds, and maybe WTT, and then suddenly it's why are there so many months left

How am i going to survive until 4cc? The lack of news is killing me...
If he goes to ice shows do you think it will be more manageable for the off season? Unlike january were we only got crumbs of info...
(and i want to see his 4Lz!!!!)
