I just remembered for Worlds that while I'll be on the footwork side of the rink which makes me happy, I am also on the 4S/3T side :hpull:. I hope that arena makes their drinks strong. Drunk before noon, yes that'll be me. :o:

what a shame about combo, he btter go clean tomorrow
It's the day after tomorrow.
Frankly when he was acting happily I already had a feeling it's not right. Some people just try to hide their anxiety by acting happily.
oh well, at least the 4Lo is good this time.

Please, help yourself. It's making everything better.
I have the harder stuff ready for the FS because I am not watching that thing without being at least a third to half sloshed before it starts. Wise life choices

I think you have got it figured out, please teach me your wise ways

It will be 2am here when it starts, maybe I will just simply go out, get drunk and then check how it all went :palmf:

He says the sense of morning practice may have remained.

Anyway, our boy shall come back!

Finally, i can breath... but tomorrow, again i shall be almost to die... Yuzu just makes me out of order...

group meeting at the bar  I can drink my breakfast

Haha, good for you  You might need more alcohol for the FS
Weirdly my mood did not change much even after knowing about the SP. I am curious about how they will approach the FS. There are 2 practices tomorrow. I wonder if they will just go all out and attend both to ensure he is really ready. Or they are still trying to try to conserve and reserve to ensure he stays healthy so that he can really do well at worlds.

Believe me, I have it ready. The vodka's coming out to play.

I ... have no idea. My brain (I keep typing Brian) has decided to take a break. I mean I think they'd want to make sure he's really ready, considering he's playing catch up and actually it's not a bad idea IMO? He's in this situation now so it's a good chance to try and figure out how to handle this in a bigger competition. But we'll see. I am also really curious to see if the layout is going to stay the same or not.

Ah HanDomi, you're not the only one! :laugh2:

I might pop down to the pub, swing back a couple of vodkas then come back to watch. The timing is perfect for us Europeans to pre-game outside, then just coast through the actual skating, happily smiling and floating on a cloud.

I mean he can do it, we all know he can. He's got the ability and then some. It's just the question of it all coming together. Come on Yuzuru, you can pre-game one with us!

Should play a drinking game at the start of men's FS then. A shot for every fall or pop but no drinking on stepout, 2ft, ot, or hands down. Pretty sure by the time Yuzu skate we would already be knocked out.
The last time he play catch up was for SC I think? He was 11 points behind Chan lol. Honestly I am really not holding my breath. He is not a free skate skater but the top 2 are. But at the same time I hope he uses this opportunity to shake the jitters off of whatever problems he had in the FS. Especially that damned 4S3T. You probably would have known that of all people, I have been frustrated about it for a long long time

I was just talking to a friend about this. It's a legitimate possibility, I've got to say.

But it is nice seeing him happy and relaxed, so I'm conflicted.

Yea, that's the conflicting feeling... he has to do what's best for him though and if he's going to end up being kuyashii after that, going into it 'less stressfully' on the surface might not be worth it for him.

<--- that's the thing I'm not sure. He didn't do his "zusa" in practice at all, and this zusa he did there was no lean back at all. We'll probably know based on Bielmann tomorrow... but eek. It makes me wonder if all this relaxed talk is another version of his "dekiru dekiru dekiru." Like one of his mind over matter tricks. What you said about him trying to relax and dispense with intensity, I was just thinking about as well. Maybe he needs to be intense.

I was thinking that he might be saving that moment for the actual program, so it's not so rehearsed, but I think he was so cautious this whole skate that it didn't materialize anyway. I hope there's nothing physically wrong...

I don't think the whole mind over matter thing really works that well for him. It's like knowingly taking a placebo and that just doesn't work for some people, especially those who are very self-aware like he is.

I'm conflicted too but I suspect Raomina is correct. When I read yesterday about Brian saying in the Javi documentary that he thought Yuzu was "too intense" it bothered me but I wasn't sure why. Then this morning I realized it reminded me of something I heard Frank Carroll say to Ted Flatt about Gracie Gold being "an emotional girl"--Frank said it like this was a bad thing. He could have instead thought of it as something positive--"she's an emotional girl and we can use that to unleash her passion for skating." But his perspective was so narrow that he just couldn't see the possibilities.

That's what came to my mind as well when I was watching that. I feel like maybe he's trying to make Yuzuru take the 'Javi route', since he said Javi's a better competitor because of that. I just don't think one size fits all in this case.

The universe keeps pushing him skating 2nd to teach him a lesson. He has to learn to live with it if he wants to archive greatness.
This is why I am so mad at him right now. I am thinking he will do okay-ish LP cause it's just him. I am not optimistic he can win cause there's quite a gap in SP.
I am just mad he let the skating 2nd demon affect him over and over again.

Am I the only one here thinking this might not be the end of the world - or the end of the battle either?
I'm not angry at him - he was still giving it all, and it was an excellent skate apart from the combination and maybe the spin after it. I'm inclined to think he might have been underscored in PCS. :)
It's as if he's getting back into top form...

when he landed 4lo like that I thought he had WR in the bag already and this happened [emoji3]
I was thinking the same. It makes it even worse [emoji22]
But surely we will see another WR from him soon, I have no doubt.

Yeah! European pre-skate drinking ice party  There's probably already a hashtag. For me I'm thinking going down to the pub as well, though my poison of choice will be tequila shots, and then back and try to sleep/study and try not to stress :palmf:

You are right though, Yuzuru's skating is still amazing and he can do it :agree: Drinking with Yuzuru sounds like an interesting experience :laugh2:
