Please everyone, don't start all this worrying again, enough is enough, at least TRY to be optimistic for one day? Worrying is not good for your own health, and there's nothing you can do about Yuzuru's health, so...
Here's a little something to make you all forget about imagined-or-not stiff backs and no-biellmans and whatnots.
Or way off-topic: go watch that GYMRUSSIA thing that's on youtube right now, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRvUegearYc
talk about stiff backs, wow, those ladies have no bones in their backs at all.

Lazy transcription from Eurosport SP Dutch commentary:
(lots of paraphrasing, I don’t feel like writing everything down).

SP
During the warmup they talk a bit about how Hanyu is ‘un-Japanese’ in the sense that he did move away from Japan to train at a young age, whereas most Japanese skaters train in Japan.
Yuzuru Hanyu has the world record, with 110.95, one of those few men who can score over 100 points. If he skates relatively clean today, that should be possible.
Most difficult jump, the quad loop, there it is, very beautifully executed. Oh nooo, double salchow, triple toeloop, misses two rotations. And then the triple is good, very nice.
In one second he leaves about ten points lying around, and that’s exactly what he misses [compared to Chen’s tech score]. He doesn’t look like he minds, though. He even jumped it double instead of quad and put a triple at the end, so it was still allowed, but a double and a quad are about ten points in difference, so that’s a lot. The music is terrific, by Prince, skated with all his heart, he went completely for it, although maybe a little less than if he’d jumped the quad. 4CC isn’t his thing, he never won the gold here, but since around the 2012 season he never relaly ended up lower than second (not sure what they’re talking about here, 4CC or in general). But he’s usually there when it really counts. This quad loop was magnificent. It’s his focus this season, to add that quad loop to both programs. Oh well, it’s not that bad, better that it happens here than at the World championship, or, imagine at the Olympics next year, just letting go of 10 points in the SP. Yes, he has to manage his peaks every season. He usually starts not so well in the GP season, peaks at the GPF, then it’s a bit lower again, and then it has to peak at Worlds. Last two years the Worlds weren’t great, but in the Olympic season it worked wonderfully. Just like in speed skating (my comment: lol, Dutch commentary mentioning speed skating), very important, managing your peaks, because the season is so long (they talk a bit about the different competitions, inc Japanese nationals, and next year when things change around a bit due to the Olys).
They can laugh about it, Orser and Hanyu, it won’t be 100 but it’ll be close, 97.04. Components average of 9.4 which one of the commentators (who also is an ISU judge) thinks is rather high, but he’s happy with it. He thanks the judges, you saved me, well, that’s not true, Yuzuru, it was actually very good aside from that one jump, of course.

A fancam of the gala finale: https://www.periscope.tv/w/1OwxWPmmrWAKQ
You can see him interacting with the sweeper girls around 9:35

A lot of video snippets from here: https://twitter.com/GeumNa

Seems like the girl are lining up to shakes hand with him~ Yuzuru forever the little girls fanclub

Aw he was so polite to ask for forgiveness when all things considered he did really well! To be positive this could be a boost for world

I just had awesome time sleep over watching figure skating with my staff. I was quite frustrated with his short to be honest because it seems like a mental game. But rather than feeling frustrated at Yuzu, the feeling is more like when an excellent striker kicks the ball and the ball missed the goal by and inch. Kuyashiii :laugh2:

But Free is a whole different spectrum! I never seen him fought so wildly like that before and to be honest after watching some figure skating movies that hype up an improvised program as a dramatic ending, I sort of keen to see Yuzuru did it just for the curiosity. AND HE DID HERE SPLENDIDLY! I can't believe he just simply throw in 4T and 3A near the end of the program. So even though he fell short of gold but I considered it a great free performance from him. Perhaps the gem is being kept until world... who knows!! Congrats Yuzu! Otsukare! :hap10:

I'm actually so invested emotionally in this competition that I felt tired now

OH and his EX!! It's so beautiful! His movement since sharp this time like his pause in between movement. Truly an art!

I hate my body clock. I went to bed just over 3 hours ago and hoped to sleep in... but the body said no, get up! now I am up. No chance of going back to sleep. I swear watching late night yuzu and then analyzing with you folks is like a hangover (but much better).

Love that gif.

I’m so happy Yuzu fought till the very end like he used to do in his younger days ,
after Boston Worlds this is the first time Yuzu is his true self, I missed him sooo much !!!!!!!!!! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Season's best score 206.67 is pretty great job :agree: Is it the highest for anyone this season?

Also beautiful 4S-3T in warm up https://twitter.com/GeumNa/status/833182299105611776

I really want him to master the combo in competition, it is such a nice jumping pass but then again he doesn't need it and he really deserves (at least) another world title. Perhaps better in the longer run though to push the 4S-3T - but change the entry more?

For FS yes but I think the total SB it is Nathan's. SP and FS was both his though. Too bad it is not in the same competition

Sooooooo happy!! :hap93: Not with the scores, I mean, but with how he skated? DAMN YES.

I'd agree that he had a little less emotional connection than at NHK/GPF, and it was less, mhm... sensitive(?) and detailed overall. But on the other hand, this performance had so much grit and fight, it's just awesome! And that's what is great about having different performances, they can give you different things, and we can forever rewatch them all :luv17:
All that YOLO'ing gave me major heart attacks though, and now that he talks about 5 quads (with 2 3As = needs 4Lz!) - how am I supposed to survive worlds? I will be a nervous, gibberish talking mess constantly trying to not just faint :drama: But then again, he looks so fired up, I'm sure he's happy with himself but also burning to beat Nathan. And that could end up so amazing in Helsinki. I'm so excited for it! And afraid. But as of now, more excited. I think.

One thing - general, sentimental rant (which I'm allowed to, I'm sleep deprived): I don't mind the silver here at all. Not just because 4CC isn't that important, but because titles are only one of many great things a skater can achieve. I know they are important, they define a big part of your lagacy. But at least for me, the most outstanding thing that Yuzu achieved in his long, amazing career, were the NHK & GPF 2015 performances. Not the WRs about it (although of course that's a big deal too, 1st 200/300 points), but really the performances. And I would think there are more people out there thinking like that. For me, I take this 4CC over the GPF this year, because what he showed was so much more impressive, even if it brought him a lesser medal. And in that sense, it's also a nice thought because he cannot control what scores the judges give him or others, he cannot control how others skate. But he can control his own performances. Today, he took control in a way he hadn't in the LP so far this season. That is the major win for me. I just hope he manages to continue to do that, than everything else will be fine. I might still rant about the judging or something, but in the end, it will be fine.
Really, I'm sorry for the whining, but this performance just reminded me again too why I love him and his skating so much

Looking back, that 4Lo did stabilize faster than I thought it would. Both his 4Lo here received over +2 GOE. Higher than his sal and toes. Now if only all of them can really be good friends lol. When he delivered them all with that kind of quality, it will be amazing. :luv17:

I can’t stop myself from watching H&L over and over again, I’m addicted to it :rofl2:
It’s amazing how Yuzu was focused and on fire ! Expecially after the popped 4S he became a man on a mission ,
he never slowed down and the 3A at the very end is to die for

Same, and I keep looking for different commentators reactions when he does the 2nd quad toe and the yolo axel

One question, why did he change 3a1lo3s to 4t2t? Isn't it if he landed it clean the triple axel combo worth more points that quad combo? Or he's afraid that he can only do 2s then he wil be zayaked?
