After that glorious performance I am actually in a good mood  hope everyone is having a good day!

So the interview specs translated in the FS thread

He will brush up (his skills) even more, I think, so I will need to do the same. As it was with the Sochi olympics, nothing is certain. I may try the lutz or the flip, or even maybe the axel. So I'm really looking forward to skating from now. And Looking forward to training too.

He is totally talking about the 4F and the 4A isn't he?

The close up of his 3F today looks good: http://i.giphy.com/n7aE6jfdXE8IE.gif
Slight inside edge. so maybe he can do 4F flat edge lol
He really has improved his Flip. I am happy. :luv17:

Oh dear :slink:

But well, If he wants to try it I think it's fine (not the 4A though, Yuzu, save it for after 2018). As long as he can restrain himself and know his limits and stay (relatively) healthy, I get the impression he took care of his body more now. From what I noticed, it did look like he limited himself in doing 10 quads maximum per practice?

Btw, same. I am in a good mood too here.

After this test skate against the new, raised BV standard, Worlds is going to be epic! I think Yuzuru can win without raising his BV this year, but I trust him to decide what's best for him. He's smart, cool, quick & skilled enough to change the end of his layout - by throwing in a quad - so, I have faith in him.

His gala skate was particularly soulful this time. It is good to be an emotional skater - as long as there's also a warrior toughness, which Yuzuru certainly has.

I would be thrilled if Yuzuru decides to go for 4CC gold in 2019, when the competition is in Colorado. After all, it will be another chance to land a 4A:)

Brace yourself for 4lz from Yuzuru. ;) I am sure it will be his most beautiful quad after 4A (if he will ever lands 4A lol).

I noticed the part about trying the lutz or the flip or maybe even the axel too... I love his attitude. Instead of just relying on what he has, he sees the other guys doing the jumps and wants to try them too. I like that. I am sure the points is a big factor, but I also think the challenge of just learning those jumps is enough for him. Anything you can do I can do better... etc.. And instead of "why try them", it's "why should I not try them?"

I can imagine how beautiful his 4Lz is right now... and his 4A, which if he's healthy I am sure he could do, would be magnifico!!

He has, he really has but goodness. I cannot stop laughing, that competition lit a fire under him!

Ok, I have predictions for the Olympics!

1) Brian Orser is going to be bald by the time it happens (from trying to make him do "only" the 4F with the 4Lz and not the 4A because you know he wants it)
2) This thread will be a mass burial ground, alternatively looney bin; cause - one Yuzuru Hanyu

LOL. I think Brian has finally learned to just *go with it* from Yuzuru. He looked pretty relaxed... but who knows what he's like at home!!

And he did say "thankyou" to Yuzu in the KnC... maybe he's just enjoying it now. :drama:

I hope he will only do it fastest by WTT though. I still think he has unfinished meals on his plates for worlds. I don't think raising BV is such a bad idea, he can always revert if it really is not happening.

Do you think this layout that he did today would have been a more comfortable layout for him, maybe (as weird as it may sound)? What if he does 3A1lo3S or 3Lz1lo3S as his fourth jump instead? It seems it is the placement of the jump that is problematic, rather than the type of the jump itself, so maybe doing a triple on that would be less stressful?

Weirdly, I have more faith in him landing 3A as the last jump rather than 3Lz

Do you have any kind of medicine that helps with the hair in Russia? Maybe Russian fans should give something like that to Brian at Helsinki. Brian hardly has any hair left after all.

Well I don't think he will ever try 4F even though his 3F is amazing and so easy now. Cause training 4lz brings more benefits (higher BV). 4F is almost equal to 4Lo. He can do two 4lo and one 4lz in his LP. ;)

I have this image now of fans approaching both Brian and Yuzuru in Helsinki with gifts and then just when they think it is for Yuzuru, they hand Brian a hair tonic while simply nodding in Yuzuru's direction!
I think Yuzuru would probably die laughing.

Yeah, I don't think he wants to do the F, I think he was more throwing it out there. But you know he wants that darn 4A and the lure of doing that at the Olympics has to be huge, especially now. Brian is going to have to be very creative in explaining that a 2x4Lo and a 4Lz is equally good. I think it's actually pretty lucky he has already been working on the 4Lz so much, so he already knows he has a back up pretty much ready and is not that anxious. Still.

You know, if he's healthy, and he does the WTT, we may see that baby for the first time there already.

What a happy morning to wake up to :luv17: This lovely thread grew a dozen pages during the night so time to backtrack lol. Thank you in advance for all the updates/news

I am very happy there's good mood all around

I joke but I do think Brian will have to sigh and hand him the harness for that 4A. Luckily, the 4Lz is almost there so that should curb his anxiety and he'll be able to show it off at WTT if he goes. Looking back, getting the 4Lz ready or almost ready by this time is not only advantageous for him in terms of actual layout but in terms of feeling good, knowing the back up is already there so he probably won't feel any pressing need to rush that 4A.
Yes, I say he's definitely taking care of his body more. Less quads, the more restrained practices he's had with even no 3A in that rt, even perhaps the change in the slide/no Biellmann (because if it is something, I don't think it's a huge matter but it would signal he's careful).

Does anyone have a fancam of Brian watching Yuzu skate his free today, I wonder? I HAVE to see his reaction to this change of layout on the fly!
But I doubt that anyone was watching Brian then... :(

Agreed about the happy morning!! I'm pretty sure I passed out only 4 hours ago, but I feel so refreshed. That's some magic Yuzu power there.
shiroKJ, your profile pic is so especially apt today  Yuzuru totally yuzu'd it like a boss! Plus he possibly showed he cares about his body and isn't in the business of exacerbating things anymore!

:yahoo::hap85::hap93::hap10::rofl2:

Ohhhh, today is going to be a good day.
And for days to come, I'm sure there'll be a bunch of Yuzu materials coming out here and there.

Yeah, I mean this kind of layout --> 4Lz 4Lo 3F / 4T2T 4S 4T 3A3T 3Alo3S doesn't look too insane after what he did today. Or he could do 4Tlo3S instead of 3Alo3S if he wants to end with a solo 3A. Honestly, 4Lz still feel elusive to me because I have yet to see him land it. 4A is ever worse. I hope it is just the adrenaline talking though. Training 4A doesn't look like a wise choice to make at all considering next season is olympics season. The injury risk is just too high. After 2018 he can do whatever he wants, really. :hopelessness:

Also, interesting about how he mentioned how he felt his knee is too stiff during FS. I felt that too, especially with the hard landing on his quads. I am actually glad he dropped the biellmann. It is not really my favorite and the strain it puts on his back is really not worth it. I hope it is a sign of him being more reasonable rather than his being less than in top form. If he is indeed more reasonable maybe he can ditch 4-3 and do 4-2 and 3A3T instead, as an actual planned layout (lol).

All I know is that his face is super priceless when Yuzuru landed that 4T2T

There is one reason why I think his 4lz will not be too troublesome. Cause it's outside edge jump. Have people noticed how fast his 4Lo has been landed well in competition? ;) Do people notice he forces his edge to outside in a very special way? He has always been the better outside edge jumper (cause inside is for the weaker lol... just kidding).
One more thing, I guess his 4S has been a mental block for him cause he rushed it out in competition too soon for Sochi. He was like "I must do 4S to win Sochi" so he pressed himself too much on it and rushed it too much.
So I am glad he takes time to train 4Lo (and 4Lz too) and put it in competition gradually. No need to rush it and make it your mental block. I truly believe he will do 4lo3T better than 4S3T lol.
