The hilarious part is, Yulia's analysis was posted just to prove that TSL was wrong about Yuzuru's TR... :laugh2: and yet some people believe it was to attack them... I am still laughing.

Lol. But truth to be told, again. I don't know why people are so riled up with anything they said. I look at them just like regular skating bloggers. I don't see them more superior than some GS members, even. They could say what they want to say, just like any posters in GS/FSU can say anything they want about Yuzu, or any other skaters for that matter, but it is not like what they said are "facts" and needed to be taken seriously. They have irked everybody and fans of many skaters. Even Ashley Wagner called them out on twitter personally, no?
After what they said about the Russians, I completely lose respect to them to be honest.

It was totally irrational and madness about Russians and add disgusting sexist comments about Satoko as well.

That's universal - if someone challenges my opinion, they threaten me. :)
What I found hilarious about arguing with CSG was that he wouldn't take it that I wasn't challenging the result of the competition :)

My biggest problem with them are exactly those kinds of things, like that with Satoko, and the Russians and the whole thing with Pogo. I am not even fussed about them being wrong about skating itself, it is the rest of it :disapp:

Oh I heard about that but I don't know what exactly were they saying. But their comments about the Russian juniors after junior worlds are just complete deal-breaker to me and where I think they completely lose my respect. :noshake:

Anywayyyy... I know the edge could be a mess. But several members there could be quite a gem in talking about actual FS stuff. Some are skaters themselves, parents of skaters, or even former judges. They are actually very helpful and informative than *** because you can actually hold an intellectual discussion with them. For example, I remember there was a judge who explain about how GOE will always be subjective and shared his/her experience in judging. S/he said s/he would give a 3Lo preceded by multiple 3turn a 0 GOE because back when she was skating, she knew it makes the jump easier and defeat the purpose of giving that +1 GOE from entrance and steps.

IKR? I am actually not so bothered with what they said about Yuzuru because at least it was about his skating. But the things they said about other skaters are actually the one that rubs me the wrong way :palmf:

zero transitions there is nothing going on , no projection + they hate this Lp it's meh , it was so much better last year both of his programs are a mess , the SP costume is a bad halloween costume ...I think I will stop here bc'z it's not even funny ...well they destroy Nathan as well lol
I think I will show it to my coaches , they will not believe it ...:palmf:

Taste differs, I understand; but speaking for no transition, :sarcasm:Thanks for heads up, I can finally quit TSL for good

ever since they had the nerve to insinuate Polina Tsurskaya and Alisa Fedichkina withdrew from Junior Worlds last year because they might have been taking meldonium, I just stopped paying attention to them.

I've been meaning to ask—so far, I haven't connected with H&L either. Can you share your favorite musical moments and choreographic touches with me? Help me learn to love it. What do you love?

There are trolling threads here, but overall GS is much more civil than fsuniverse, which is why I choose to post here.

What did they say about Satoko.......?
" she is so perfect and organized so obedient, wonderful example of future Asian mother and wife" something like this :palmf:

Really tested my patience , they got immediate block from my feeds after that.

(looks shyly to my own username) When the first practice at autumn classic came, the moment i heard that part, i knew the hydroblade was supposed to be there (iirc, he didn't do it on practice that time). Recently the ina bauer is very nicely timed imo. I love that type of music, and the japanese impression of a "forest fairy" because of the costume+music was one of the first things i thought too.
What made me love even more was Shae-Lynn's explanation about the choreography, i think things like that shouldn't really be explained, and let the audience form their own opinion about what they are trying to convey, but in this case i think it was okay, she explained chronologically what the choreography is supposed to be conveying. I wish i remembered where it was but it's buried on the depths of the thread now...

I think if you don't like it, or you don't connect with it, you don't have to force yourself to like it?
I personally think the stsq is very breathtaking. Loved it since the first time, I also love the opening and the ending. But that's me. In contrast, many people can tell me how much they like LGC and even if it gets 50 pts PCS, I doubt I would like it as much as I like chopin. It is just taste and preferences. But just because I don't like it, it doesn't mean that it is a bad program. Sometimes some people has a hard time distinguishing that. I feel that way with most of Javi's program too, not my taste.

A bit unpopular opinion here. Looking at the scores given, his PCS is not affected much with his program choice?

FS, Last season he got : AC 92 SC 88 NHK 97 GPF 98.5 World 92
FS, This season he got : AC 86 SC 88 NHK 92 GPF 92 4CC 94

Aside of autumn classic this year (which is quite a mess), his PCS is not much different from the amount he would be getting during Seimei when not clean (with a fall). I don't think I would expect him to get the same PCS as he did with NHK and GPF '15 when he was technically not delivering his planned layout there at 4cc.

I agree with the assessment of music choice not affecting his PCS (as it should be). But for sure, it's affecting how a lot of commentators are talking about his program beyond things that are down to personal taste. Divisive to say the least. I've heard both that he looks drained and that he doesn't look remotely tired and wasn't even panting, that he was commanding in the performance and that he wasn't performing as much as he did in previous outings. :confused2: And now TSL with their "empty program" "no transitions" comment. But I didn't click in to listen and don't intend to, so.

I used to have a hate/love relationship with TSL years ago and never considered them more than bloggers as well, although I would enjoy a few of their interviews and recaps. However, since Jenny left and even some time before, I really can't bring myself to watch their recap videos. I watched one or two this season and I was so dissapointed with the lack in substance that now I really don't have the desire to click their videos, not even in a car-crash-you-can't-look-away type of curiosity. Not that it was that much insightful before, but I think Jenny offered a more balanced point of view when she was with Dave, since the later tend to get too much over the top and personal. I don't think much about their statements, however, I understand how some people might get heated over what they say towards any skaters, not only about their lack of filter, but because even though they are just skating fans commenting, every time someone has a camera pointed at them it's assumed that it will reach a bigger audience, and it suggests a 'credibility' that I believe they are not at this point qualified to receive, especially without Jenny, considering they have a name such as The Skating Lesson.

I think skating has a lack of this type of video recaps. I've been dissapointed with most of them, and they are not much in number. Of course, this is my personal assessment and someone will certainly find them interesting but I prefer these types of forums, where there's more varied opinions and not 1h30 of similar ones back to back, especially with the recent guests. I believe his name is Jonathan Beyer. The one I watched this season was with him and I think him and Dave don't provide enough contrast and are not objective enough. Or maybe they can't be because of lack of acknowledge but I don't know his background in skating.

I was going to post this comment at the TSL thread, but since the OP doesn't want critique about TSL themselves there to avoid hate, only about what they said at the video, and honestly, I didn't watch it I just can post here. I only read some of what they said because I was translating japanese comments on twitter and suddenly some of them were about it.

And the 4CC Pandora thread also closed before I was able to post this comment and this. k

True, it's just that I will be watching it live at Worlds and Yuzu is my favorite skater. So I want to enjoy the experience as much as I can.

(Replying to mcq about personal taste)

I personally consider this as culture difference…Do you like Yuzu‘s Seimei or gala from last season?
