The program is about people contributed to the success of people like Yuzu. I think this is part 3 of 4 of this series and Yuzu was also in part1 and/or 2. IIRC, in previous versions they introduced Shizuka Arakawa for saving Ice rink Sendai, and Evgeni Plushenko for inspiring Yuzu to be an Olympic champion himself. I remember another person from Miyagi was introduced as a contributor to his OGM on TV for helping Ice rink Sendai or something to do with his skating boots but it might be in another program…

Is it just me or he looks really pale and tired at 4cc (fs program)? I hope he wasn't sick ..

Edit: he looks tired but at the end he looks strong, finishing his program

No he didn't. He attempted 5 quads and 3A at the end and he looked stronger at the end than in any performance this season

Hello everybody, another lurker found courage to post (warning: long post and poor english, sorry)

First of all I want to say thank you to all of you, for the translations, pictures, fancams, links, funny post, your opinions and really everything... Good job, guys I've been following this forum for quite a long and had great time reading these posts.

I'm not a new Yuzu fan and definitely not new skating fan, I started following skating during Sasha Cohen period. I have a lot of favourite skaters male or female but for me, none of them is anywhere near to Yuzu. I saw him for the first time during OWG (like many of you) and immediately fell in love with his skating and personality. His performance was just something so unique, so special, so beautiful, so perfect, so effortless, so light, so natural, so much emotions in it... I had goosebumps all over my body.

I love all of his programms and all of his costumes (even requiem ) and I've watched all of his performances about 100 times (or even more, lol). And what I really love about his performances is that they are never the same. Never. There is always some little detail in his movement or expression or mood or something, that makes it look a little different and exiting to watch again and again. And he's so beautiful and cute and has such a charisma. You can't do nothing but love him :luv17:

But here is my story I'd like to share with you:
Watching his performances at OWG inspired me to start figure skating. I was already 17 at that time, too old to expect miracles but I suddenly wanted to try it so badly. First lessons were difficult and it really was a start from 0. But I enjoyed every second on the ice and after some weeks I started seeing little improvements and the fear of falls slowly disappeared as well. Now it's been 3 years since I started skating and I really can't imagine my life without it anymore. The more I skate, the more I love it. It's incredible, that 3 years ago I couldn't do even a simple damn crossover and now I started landing my first doubles. This is all thanks to Yuzu. Thanks to him I've found my passion for skating and courage to try it.
He's literally changed my life and I thank him every day for that. Not only I was able to find my love for skating, but I also find my boyfriend there at our club. And many new friends there as well, btw all of them looove Yuzu, and our coaches do as well, they used him as example when explaining rhythm of knee bend, etc I'm always so proud to be his fan and grin so much, when they mention him If any of you have ever consider to skate, just do it, it's never late and you will love it!

Unfortunately, I will probably never be able to see him skating live (as I'm a student and I just can't disappear in the middle of the semester :sad21: ) but I'm always ready to cheer for him in front of my pc no matter the daytime. But I'm happy for you guys who had (or will have) chance to see him live, it must be an incredible and unforgettable experience. So all of you who will be in Helsinki, please cheer for him loudly, throw him poohs, and show him how much we love him! He deserves it

Welcome to you and all the new members! I also started becoming a skating uber fan during the Sasha Cohen period in 2001. When she was done I became a more casual viewer, but Yuzu brought back my uberness full force. He caught my attention around the GPF before the Olys. And after that the rest is history. Whenever I want people to understand how much I love his skating, I just say that he's my new Sasha and then they get it . I loved Plushenko around that time as well (though not quite as much as Sasha) but at this point I think I'm a bigger Yuzu fan. I just love beautiful jumpers. I remember seeing Plushenko doing a 4/3/2 and it blew my mind. Then I'd heard about Yuzu who was beating Dai (who I adored) and I was instantly a little irritated, and then I actually saw him and his beautiful jumps coupled with great skating skills and performance ability. I do hope you get to see him live some day!

Welcome Monidi, it's so encouraging for me to hear that you are doing double jumps now. I also started figure skating too late, almost at 30, though I didn't start it for Yuzu. It was the reverse, I found Yuzu because I loved figure skating like crazy. Right now I'm doing only single jumps but my coach thinks I'll be able to do at least double Salchow by next year. Keep working hard :agree:

Yuzuru at 4CC FS looked stronger than his previous FS ending of this whole season. He is getting there. I mean his peak will go up and might meet the time of WC. Hopefully...

Yes..He looks stronger at the end.. It maybe just me, his face bfore and after finishing his fs looks different. At the end he looks ready to kill someone.. Lol jk.. I mean he looks so determined to win. Yea, hopefully at WC! #prayhard

Yes, I think that look in his eyes after the FS is definitely what we need for Worlds. And no injuries, of course. I expect no experiments on ice while Brian is away.
If everything goes well we might see the Combo of Doom finally landed [emoji1]. I prefer to keep my expectations low, but now I can't help feeling optimistic.

I've a theory they transfer coach-student relationships in the Russian FS world onto anything - it's coaches' ambition driving athletes to do new things.
Not everyone says it, but let's say Yuzuru gets less credit for decision-making there than over here.

We know only half of what Yuzu does behind Brian's back... This is not some obedient little boy. Back when he first went to Canada to train with Orser, at one point he came back to Sendai, didn't he train his jumps almost exclusively when he'd been told to work on his skating skills? (or was that the over-dramatization of Japanese documentaries?)
