Speaking of which, it reminds me again about how FS technically took a step back jump-wise after Yagudin injured himself and eventually retired. All the medalists at Salt Lake City did 3-4 quads in total, which is arguably the same difficulty to those done in Sochi. While between that... we know what happened. (Though I'd say they improved the quality of the elements compared to the olden days) Kind of makes me wonder how FS will take off after the quad craze this year. There is also a chance it will quieten down depending on how things unfold. :think:

It depends on... how well the quad-crazed fare and how long their careers last, I would say. I also think that rule changes would affect things. If the range of GOE does go up, if BV is adjusted, etc. A moderate swing back is perfectly plausible.

Just as future reference, there is a big difference between dakishimeru (抱きしめる; to embrace) and daku (抱く; usually "to have sex with"). So as I remember, this poll was not gauging guys' interest in "who would you want a hug from," but instead... well. Yeah. ^^;

I don't know if he really suits tango/latin music, though I guess he could really bring it in his facial expressions considering he looks kinda seriel killer when he's very focused and latin totally allows for that kind of energy

I never actually thought tango/latin/spanish would be the best music choice for Yuzu, but who knows?
I was skeptical about Shoma FS but it have grown on me and now he seems comfortable with it.

It's why that tango that Li'Kitsu suggested yesterday (I think) works. Put him in a deep, wine red and black pants costume and we'd all collectively die.

I love the swan too! so fluffy! those gigantic rhinestones on his sleeves and the detailing on his trousers! The deep v that gives such a lovely line to his torso!

As in as a secret code? Maybe.
But in this case, somehow ANN translated the obvious into 'embrace'. I don't know if they did it on purpose or not (you can see some people are mad they downplay it )
They said the voting is done annually, I wonder about the previous years' results lmao

Oh this is really wonderfully put together. I think the COC'14 footage is well used even though many people prefer to not rewatch it. It's one of those moments where I disapprove and dislike the situation but can't help but to admire him in that moment...It's horrible to watch but I also feel really in awe of his spirit whenever I do, so I kinda love/hate that performance...

But the video generally shows what's so great and special about Yuzuru, not just his beauty on the ice and his athletism but also his strength of character, competitive spirit and determination. :luv17: That's why I like him so much, why he attracts so many people to figure skating as well as people who already followed fs for a long time, and why he's going to be remembered forever as someone who made a huge impact on the sport.

As for the music question, too many (as Yata knows, since I spam her with that stuff ) A lot of people want Final Fantasy, but if, I'd personally want The price of freedom to be part of it, or Road to Zanarkand, instead of the usual FF7 stuff. Since I love Rockstar Yuzu, I'd love I don't care or Centuries from Fall Out Boy. Or even better, he could mix it with drama and give me Snuff mixed with Vermillion from Slipknot, and my life would be complete. As for Tangos, I think he would be awesome with this. There are more, but I will leave it at that. As you see, I need him to be around for many, many, many more years

I think you and I talked about this before, but just to reiterate again, I have grown old wanting someone to skate to Final Fantasy X's Ending Theme, which is essentially Road to Zanarkand with a full orchestra and additional arranagements. I mean, it's completely flawless and already structured how you need it to be for a program.

I love Fallout Boy's I Don't Care. I kind of want to use it for an AMV if I ever get back to video editing. Never really thought of them as skating material but I'd give it a chance.

I would be so on board for a "Centuries" -Fall out Boy short program! And final fantasy music would be great, I am partial to 7. There is so much to choose from with final fantasy music in general. I used final fantasy sheet music as a way to get out of being a classical pianist when I was in high school, it sounded impressive enough to my piano teacher that I got to play it. She was fine with me ditching my Chopin for Uematsu.

I also trust Yuzu's music choices, and as much as I have loved his warhorse programs I hope he avoids the warhorses next season.

I love that Final Fantasy music is respected. I attended a symphony concert that performed the most popular soundtracks some years back at a prestigious concert hall. Of course Ending Theme was in there so I was very happy :agree2:. The composer for XV is Yoko Shimomura and she is an apt successor to Uematsu I think. I listen to the soundtrack in the background here at work (all 5 hours of it). She actually performed a selection of the songs at London's Abbey Road Studios with their orchestra and it was really enjoyable. There's some great material if people would just give it a chance. And in general I really LOVE that there is a female composer getting some spotlight.

Final Fantasy has been one of the most popular music choices since I can remember. And yes, there is so much, I'm sure everyone could find something they would like... and maybe it's not even the most impossible wish, given that it's a japanese composer and Yuzu is a gamer

Oh, and I realize, I forgot to mention Lindsay Stirling. Lots of Lindsey Stirling (Does this last one scream half loop combo to anybody else? Okay, maybe it's just me. Or if we miss Rock and Japanese, I want Distress & Coma

Final Fantasy is popular but has anyone of note actually used it? It's great that Yuzu is a gamer and all, but has he ever mentioned Final Fantasy himself? There are tracks on there that I think are better than H&L.

And yes, Lindsey Stirling is a great choice. And she gets bonus points for being an Otaku. Hell, she has even graced us with a Final Fantasy Medley (and is that Ending Theme I hear at 2:50 min mark? Why yes, yes it is, because it's AWESOME). I've already seen a few programs using her music. Japan is aware of her because I have seen news clips with her music in the background. Boggles my mind that we see people skating to Lindsey before Final Fantasy which has been around since forever. Since Lindsey (and I) were just babies! Certainly before she ever even picked up a violin.
