I am looking forward to the juniors. I want Cha to do well, i love his long program, but our Canadians have good chances too. However, there will be no nail biting so I can just enjoy it for a change. The nail biting will come soon enough!

Historically, for me, nail biting has only been for Yuzu*****, Yags, B/S, Gordeeva and Grinkov ***, Brian Orser (I was young then and more patriotic with skater choices)... I have loved other skaters, but either my confidence in them was great, or my love was not quite obsession, lol.

So you'll be around (counting on you now ), mcq. Yata's around. I think a bunch of us. No dead thread please. I need someone to freak out alongside with. :drama:

I'll be popping in and out! Hope we don't have to undergo such a collective heartbreak as we did last year. I really do.

Hey, I was a kid in the Soviet Union - and I was biting my nails for Brian Orser! Not patriotic of me - but why should I care, he was fantastic. It hurt a lot when he lost...

Lys said she caught the translation bug from you, Fay ;)

he is with other not FS people and they want to talk about other things and he is like "LET ME TALK ABOUT YUZU NOW AND FOREVER"
She just translated a roundtable post-Olympics commentary involving our dearly beloved Max. Watch this before you go to bed. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4tzmik_yh-wog14-after-sp-ita_sport

Imma add it to the translation spreadsheet~

Thank you for calling me by my favourite name - I've been looking for ways to change my name to Fay. How do you do it?
I'm a carrier of a dangerous bug then! :laugh2: Good of Lys - I'll watch it NOW!

Wait, wait, sarcastic or actually your favorite? It just came out *nervous*

It IS my favourite. I mean it. I was called that in class during English lessons - and I've loved it since.
I watched the video - oh my, nothing, nothing can make Max forget what he saw that day! The excellence that is Hanyu!
He was prescient about one thing - this performance would stay on top for nearly two years - and it's the top score for programs which have that technical layout. :) You have to jump two quads and jump them well to top that.
Well, maybe, Yuzu could have beaten it with Chopin, but... 3Lz decided to go on strike.

I feel like we have pre-worlds stages of grief...
And it is so frustrating that i can't do anything to support him, i just have to believe in him i guess...

I choose to believe in him. He might fail, but he'll fail while trying his best. It does count.
As long as he's healthy and continues to perfect his art, I'm happy too!

I believe in him too, but ugh, it just breaks my heart to see him sad, i watched Skate Canada SP again and i remembered how it took me a week to get over the sadness lol

Thanks for the translations guys!! :thank:

I'm gradually get more nervous/excited for worlds. The men's feild is so intensely competitive right now...I want Yuzu to get gold but the pressure on him to perform is wild...

Hehe. I'll keep calling you Fay then. And Professor.
And lol poor 3Lz. Despite being a jump that Yuzuru's actually great at... Takes all the blame, might be replaced soon. *wants to give 3Lz gentle pats*

I'm rooting for Jun too in Junior, not gonna lie I started to pay attantion to him coz he remaind me of young Yuzu abit and one of Orser boys.

I watched his ex and his Ina bauer got me. These are my fav shoot of those two

Guys, it's two weeks before the Worlds. Spare my nerves! :)
3Lz deserves all our sympathy as a jump that gets left last for ages - and gets blamed for nearly everything. And - horror - at Yuzu's last competition it went completely neglected. Even 3F was there!!!

somehow idk why Yuzu put the 3lutz as the last jump, usually a skater will put their nemesis jump in the beginning of the program so they didn't have to stressed for the entire program, I mean Iike they way Yuzu put the 3f in the first half of the program.

So why is Yuzu have to take a risk and put his nemesis as last jump? I don't get it , may someone expline it to me

He put it last because it's a pretty stable jump for him - unlike 3F - the only trouble with 3Lz is when he's tired and can't manage to land it.
Or when the timing is off, as happened with Chopin.

Because it's not actually his nemesis jump. It's actually his good jump, Yuzu's outside edge game is strong. ... He just doesn't have as good a sense of it since he started training 4Lz. That and also, I think he had trouble fitting 3Lz to the music and it gave him issues. Because he always cares a lot about fitting jumps to music.

ETA: LOL, Fay got to it before I did. But basically what Fay said.

ohh if that the case why not change the layout for World, like
3A-1lo-3S to 3lutz-1lo-3S
and the last jump 3lutz to 3A
is that any different for point wise?

The pressure on him is very great, but it is not new to him. Does it mean he is comfortable with it? I do not know, but this has been part of his life since 2014. This is why part of me really wants Shoma to excel at World's... to kind of help ease Yuzu's burden... but I doubt that would help that much because so much of the pressure is the perfection that he expects from himself.

We just have to trust that training is going well. If he is physically ready, I have faith. Last year and this year are entirely different situations.
