Sorry! I think that's just my coping mechanism since I can't control much except what Pooh bear I'm going to throw on the ice or what purple shirt I'm going to wear for the SP, and more importantly, how much wine I'm going to have to drink to deal with my nerves :scratch3:. But really, logically Yuzu's prepared, he's healthy, he's focused, and he does have the spirit of a champion. And that's a recipe for success. He's proven this before :agree:. It took me a minute to think about what R-word meant, so I guess the ban works

25 more pages till 3900, we can power that out in a day. Today was really slow.
The discussion on axel technique is interesting to me. The 3A when done right is pretty much the most beautiful jump so I wish more of the younger skaters had better technique on it.

My English is not enough to explain the mechanism of Axel (cause there are many terms I don't want to look up in English). But let me tell you this, many top skaters do not have good 3A technique and some of them "cheats" a bit. So there is no chance for them to do 4A. You look at Evegnia's 2A and tell me can she do a 3A?I haven't understood the whole fs technical aspects so I can't comment on that, but is it possible for someone that is good at Axel to skip other quads and just focus on 4A?
I'm aware about their long preparation into Axel too. Quad craze makes them forget 3A, so maybe the possibility for us to have another skater obsessed with Axel beside Yuzu will lessen?

I guess that's why Yuzu's jumps seem so light for me.
After watching Zhenya's performance at TAT anniversary, I realized how brute(?) a lot of skaters are when they're about to jump, especially for toe jumps. They really spread their leg backwards so wide. Meanwhile Yuzu's jumps almost always come out of nowhere. Especially, 3A :luv17:
Regarding my post that I think he may go deeper purple for LGC:
I think I read that he said that additional changes could happen. His error in LGC caused him to lose 4CC, so I think he may want to adjust the costume for superstitious reasons. He changed the Chopin costume gradually over the 1st season he did it, then added the gold repairs for the 2nd season, so I also think he may enjoy making such changes.
I like the costume in both versions, but I'd like to see how it would look darker (& I'd like to make an Instagram of the transformation from white to dark).
Can't wait to see him again - whatever he wears!
Do we have any fancams from Skate Canada where he first revealed his ex costume (I mean like the moment he took off his jacket? Did the fans go oohhh ahhh again?)? I always love to see/hear fan reactions when he unveils a new costume
If I remember correctly, he went off the ice in his jacket & just reappeared a while later without the jacket. I too love his reveals & the reaction.

Re: red clothes, he used to say his favorite color is red and sky blue. But I'm guessing no red costumes after CoC....... I like him in red too

Red is my ultimate fave color, so I screamed excitedly when see him in red. That's too bad if that's true though :sad4:

And yes! Actually, when i think of Yuzu i think red, but i've seen him more with blue clothes. He looks really good in red <3 i wish he wore it more often.

I think both Browning and Mura had talked about 4A, that for them the hardest part is actually not knowing when to check out. They feel like they are in the air forever, not used to the 4.5 rotation, so their body just naturally open up early. Kurt somewhat believed that it could be done because he felt he still have airtime for that extra 0.5 rotation when he attempted them back in the days. He mentioned that off all people that might be able to do 4A, Yuzuru is of course the man you thought could do it, BUT he also said Yuzuru need more height for that to happen (he said it might not be a lot, maybe 3-4 inches (8-10 cm) would be all that is needed?).
From all the 4A attempts that I see, I considered most to be UR (Yuzu's one was downgraded). This is a jump where you really need height and there is not a way to somewhat cheat it. There is a reason it has not been landed, honestly.

If there are jumps that I feel like Yuzuru COULD DO MORE, they are the 3F and 3A. I mean the energy he put in those jumps are like... it's not the maximum he can do. With a correct Flip edge now, he can do a 4F cause his 3F is so easy and smooth. But I guess fixing the edge for 3F is all I can ask from him.
As for the Axel, I have no doubt Yuzuru can fully rotates a 4A in practice. I can image he can do crossovers the whole rink and do a 4A. I am just not sure if it is a good idea to practice it. It seems to dangerous. So I am glad he focuses on improving the quality of his current programs instead. Don't go after quads and quads. Like 7-8 quads in total for WC? No don't do that.

That is interesting about the rotaion and opening up to early. I would have never thought about that being a hinderance. I was reading somewhere the airtime of a quad was around .65 of a second, I assume that the 4A not only needs height but a few hunderths of a second more on airtime.
I want to see someone land one, it doesn't even have to be in comeptition!
