I seriously think he should have a la Skate Canada meltdown in Helsinki in order to miss the podium but frankly, I think not having gold having silver/bronze and being off podium has same price for him :palmf:

I don't want to jinx him so I'll not say anything about my presentiments

This just makes me remember when my connection was so slow while browsing Tumblr, I saw a Yuzuru's 3A gif lagging, and realized his 3rd rotation had finished when he was still so high from the ice. So, yeah, he can do it. It's just now is not the right time. And I can't wait for it :agree:

:palmf: after Boston and 4CC I don't think I can be more dissapointed. I haven't seen the time convert of WC yet but maybe it will be during my shift... hopefully...

I'm going to leave this thread till after Worlds, maybe just drop by to inform the timing for big fan photo taking session in Helsinki.

The talked on the new banned word and nightmares make me very down. I wish the thread can talk about more positive things and channel the energy towards cheering for Yuzu, rather than doom and gloom even before he starts skating.

I'm in the subway going to get material to make a big Yuzu banner. And now I just feel like crying and cancel my flights/accommodation and sell my tickets.

Nooo please ! We need people to fight the negativity !

But I understand your feeling tbh... yesterday evening the posts talking about the banned words gave me a beginning of a panic attack. I understand where they come from though, I swear I've never been so anxious about anybody. This boy is bad for my mental health, but being his fan is glorious :)

However, I have a good feeling about worlds tbh ? For once he's super healthy, and he's doing everything he can to peak at worlds, and I want to trust him on that. He knows his rythms and body better than anybody, and proved many times that he could improve dramatically in less than two weeks of intense training.
Plus, this time he's stayed in Toronto and I tend to think that seeing Javi often is the kind of things he needs in order to boost his motivation. And let's not forget Juhnwan, who will soon become a senior and has the potential to rivalize with Yuzuru in a few years... Training with them is I think excellent to boost his competitive spirit and the fire within him.
And let's not forget that he HAS to teach Nathan a lesson

So... gold for Yuzu !!! :cheer::cheer::cheer:

Down with panic-mongery! No one's defeated until they feel defeated! :)
Folks, please, I understand your concerns, but can we keep this a positive place? Yuzuru is a legend regardless of the placements. :)

I think he needs to see Javi often mostly so he won't be so hard on himself. Like he said in that Javi's documentary, Javi tends to make jokes and helps him to take all easily. God, I love their friendship and I ship them with podium.
I can't wait for Junhwan to be in senior too. At least, then he will be in same competitions with Yuzu thus ease Brian's travel time

It's hilarious isn't it? Fans burning for Yuzu, fogging up poor photographer uncles' lenses.... :shame:
:laugh15: Yuzuru, what are you doing to these poor people?!

:laugh2: Somehow I am not surprised, I remember myself at GPF :o:

Anyway, I know people like to write Javi off, but his skates at Euro and CoR sans GPF scored higher than Shoma's personal best. He is still the guy who will score around 320 when clean or over 300 with 1 mistakes, so I am really baffled by how people just write him off right away. It is funny because he is the reigning world champ but he always has the advantage of going into the next world not having the biggest pressure time and time again, which could also factor in his relatively better skates there. 2015 and 2016 Yuzu was the favorite; 2017 it was between Yuzu, Nathan and Shoma. Once in a while I would actually like to see how he would skate IF he has the pressure of a reigning world champ at worlds. :hopelessness:

I still believe Javi is a strong rival. And yes, he doesn't have the pressure of being clear favourite. Besides judges like him and this time they will be mostly from Europe.

So one of Shoma or Nathan is on the chopping block... Or Yuzu (but let's not go there..)

:eeking:

Yes, yes, yea! I was just going to say this after reading the last few pages. Come on people, don't put that out into the universe, please!

Our thoughts can materialize into real events. Let's be optimistic.

Oh, Thank you guys, for translating.. :thank: it always nice to understand all the commentaries about yuzu..

Btw, till now, I'm still not brave enough to watch yuzu FP at GPF '16 :(

Come on, it was not that bad! At least the first part. And after all he won!

So many beautiful photos! You have made my day, thank you!

I wish he could keep red colors for OG. He looks so unbeatable in red.

Red is the colour of the winners :)

But you are going to see Yuzu live! This alone should make you happy! Bring positive energy to him!

Hear, hear. No matter his placement, if he's satisfied after the performance, if he just enjoys his skating and his music, I'll be satisfied too. If he reclaims his world title in the process, all the better. Fingers crossed!

Other topic :

I'm surprised everyone seem to like red on Yuzuru ? Perhaps it's because of the Ghana commercials, but It's definitely not my favourite color on him. Etude's blue is the most beautiful color he's worn in my opinion (and since his autobiography is called "blue flames" he may agree with me :) )

oh no.. be positive. I would like to suggest not to be in the thread too much while you are in Helsinki. Just enjoy the actual competitions and shout/cheer as much as you can for Yuzu. that's what I did anyway. :D I am sure he could really feel our energy. So please enjoy and bring lots of positive energy regardless of whatever others/news/media might say about him.

Blue blends well with the ice. iirc blue colors were present in Yuzuru's costumes almost every season (except 2012-2013 maybe).

But I still think red would be a good choice. Maybe not overall red like in Ghana CM, but some details in red.

:console: Don't cry Alia and don't give up the chance to personally cheer Yuzuru.

Yuzuru has gone through so much at so young an age, and he hasn't given up and keeps on striving to be better and being positive, and that is why he has accomplished great things. His resiliency and optimism are qualities we should all emulate.

I'm seriously conflicted toward that costume. I love the blue, but it seems to blue for him, I think. I prefer in greenish blue like in H&L.
And that costume looks like an optical illusion in photos and makes him look like having boobs :laugh2:

But it's beautiful and he looks so beautiful in it :ohwell:

That original POTO costume was so perfect :drama:

Etude costume was perfect for the program I think. He was like a blue flame himself on the ice.
I am sure he liked this costume because H&L one was clearly inspired by it.

I prefer POTO2 :) He was gorgeous in it.

Only 11 posts left to join YFAC :yahoo: I can talk about costumes forever .

I also prefer POTO2 to POTO1... I don't know, POTO1 looked more generic ?
I'm always surprised to see, when I read the archives, how POTO2's costume seemed impopular back then ? I think one of my favourite "Yuzu moment" is when Yuzuru is in his POTO2 costume, masking half of his face... For me it's one of those iconic images that really made an impression on me.

This is my phone lock screen .

One of his most beautiful photos ever.

I actually didn't care much for the original POTO. Mostly because it seemed a bit too busy and overwrought. I mean, it wasn't bad and even though I tend to like bling and sparkles and drama, it seemed a bit too much. Which I guess fits POTO to a T but I actually preferred his POTO 2.0.
