About the video, I know for some this seems all fun and games but someone needs to have a serious talk with this skater. I don't think this is okay and never will. It saddens that this could keep going on, he needs to be punished to serve as an example. It's even hard for me to mention what he did since it breaks my heart that this happened but I'll try it. The fact that he skated to LGC in black pants and plain white shirt. There, I said it. i'm afraid this will haunt me for a long time.
I will continuously observe rhinestoned vests, illusion mesh and velvet purple pants in order to recover from this shock. It will be a long process but I'm willing to go through it. k


Where was this? At which competition? And what's the name of the skater? The leg kick + fall combo had me rolling. +5 GOE.

Hmmm I suppose I wouldn't mind if he keeps the SP, it's a strong one, but I'd love to see something new from him. And wow, I have a feeling we'll definitely get to 4k pages before Worlds! And I'm going to attempt to post more so I can join the Yuzu face club

That's an amazing idea.

I wonder whether Jeff's amazing compatibility and genius as far as Yuzuru is concerned doesn't actually come from the fact that he only choreographs SPs for him, and therefore doesn't have to worry about things such as stamina and pulling off 13 jumps. He can put in those transitions and details and have Yuzuru do them (well, except the original version of Ballade, which turned out too difficult even for Yuzu and 2 quads). I wonder if they'd be able to achieve the same effect in LP. For example, Yuzuru's step sequences in SP have always been more interesting than in LP, where the step sequence is a resting period. The only genuinely good, not run-of-the-mill LP step sequence is Seimei (sorry Shae-Lynn). Seeing that She-Lynn is no chopoed liver of a choreographer, I wonder if Jeff would do any better.

I certainly wouldn't mind the attempt though. But then again, if WE have thought about it, then surely Brian and Yuzuru must have as well? There must be a reason why Jeff has done 3 SPs but not a one LP? Quick, somebody push this question forward for the next interview with Yuzu!

We've already mentioned it, but how about Notte Stellata as a competitive program? Do you think it'd work better shortened as SP (Yuzu could try twizzles-3A-twizzles!) or stretched/padded with another piece as LP? (Hydroblade and Ina Bauer!)

I think Jeff choreographed Mura's free skate last season, but sadly I don't quite remember it! I do wonder if Jeff would make a devil of a free skate that would be too tiring, but it'd be an experiment I'd love to see. I think he could adapt the program to suit what Yuzu needs to be successful.

I think before Jeff only did the SP because David Wilson was doing his free skate in the past. I think Yuzu likes working with Shae-Lynn which is why he continues to work with her for the free.

While I love Notte Stellata I have a hard time seeing it as a competitive program. It's beautiful and peaceful, but as it is now it lacks a certain competitive intensity for me. Ballade was classical but had its calm and strong moments that worked really well. I am slightly curious what a David Wilson program for Yuzu would look like today, but I don't know if I would risk it since I didn't particularly like Notre Dame de Paris or R&J2.

Yeah, I know Yuzu was a different skater then, but DW's programs for him have been very underwhelming, IMO. I mean, he was capable of R&J1.0...But he only had one quad then... Anyway, I think Jeffrey Buttle and Shae-Lynn's stuff for him have been just fantastic from the start, so there's​ no reason to take the risk.

I kind of wish he'd keep one program (preferably the short with a different costume) so he can focus on other things, but I'd be happy with new programs too.

Aah, I missed you and your costume talk :luv17: Bringing attention to this sacrilege and grave crime of black pants and white tshirt I don't think it's an actual competition, the skater is the OP's school skating teammate.

For those of us who are clueless, context on this?

Sorry missed this too in the landslide that's our beloved fan fest Someone posted slo-mo videos on Insta of Yuzu doing 4T, 3A-lo-3S, 3A-lo-3S during training at TCC. I think it was unsanctioned because they were soon taken down. :noshake:His movements were so beautiful in slo-mo though. :agree:

Notte stellata's biggest appeal imo is how simple, bare and somewhat raw it is, thus we can appreciate Yuzuru's simple stroking and gliding that we would likely not see in a competitive program with quads and 3A + numerous transitions. Put in a busy lvl4 stsq and it perhaps might not work. But anastasia gubanova's le cygne program is capable of doing all the elements + skating beautifully using that music so it is not like it is completely impossible to do, though it is a tall order for both Yuzu and the choreographer since we have seen it in its original form.

I'd say, choreographing FS is a bit harder, since it has more elements with only very little time added compared to SP. So I get the why fix it if it is not broke approach his team might choose to do. Brian said that it would be difficult for Yuzuru to work with choreographer other than those two due to how particular he is about the steps and his own vision of the jumps, the elements and the programs. More veteran choreographer probably have their own vision and interpretation of a program and maybe they like to be in charge more than the skater when it comes to realizing it.
