The problem with that is that it's not a new issue and then remember how he was at 4CC. Guh. Seriously, drop that sucker!

He won't, I know he won't but sob.

I just don't understand how the combo issues appeared in the SP too. I thought the combo problem in the FS was mostly related to both a mental block and the music timing/the stop (which they fixed with that glide). But that should have been a separate issue from the 4S jump itself. I mean, at GPF he was doing crazy 4S combos at gala, that jump was like butter to him. Then suddenly at 4CC, 4S decides to go on a long vacation in both programs. And it hasn't returned properly.

All of this practise Yuzu is doing with combos and his recovery plan (I think that what it is) if he pops the combo made me curious,so I was trying to look at the different things he could do in that case but I can't find any scenario were he can make a better recovery than he did at 4CC. Therefore, I am putting the question here for the smarter and more knowledgeable people than me.

What is the best recovery plan if he popped the 4S3T combo?

PS. I believe in Yuzuru and I do think he can land the combo, this is just an exercise I am doing to learn more about how the scoring system works.

It's purely mental.
He cannot jump it in the FS and then the block spread to the SP because it's the same combo. And until he does, I think it'll hold. We have to cross everything that he manages to get it in the SP because playing catch up in this line up would be a nightmare.

Alright I am trying to think positively. He fell on the damn you-know-what combo at last year's worlds, might be a good way to kiss goodbye the nightmare at this year's worlds:hap10:

Wow. His landing positions are lovely in general but this one is particularly so because he usually doesn't get his free leg up that high into a 90 degree arabesque. His back and plie as always are perfect.

Some jump videos from Pamigena.

4T
3A-1lo-3S
3Lz
3F

Edit:

4S-1lo-3S <- That knee bend. :eeking:
4S-3T
4S
*The* 3A

Thanks so much for all the videos and updates.

I am in love with that 3F with the entry and exit. He does it so beautifully and seamlessly. If I were brave enough, I would film myself dancing an approximation of what he's doing there. Twizzles with arms in third into the 3F, jumps, lands plie in arabesque arms in second, then with the same standing leg does a pirouette bringing his arms up to fifth and ends again with plie in arabesque bringing his arms down.

I really wish I could do this to him right now https://m.popkey.co/4fd66f/pDA4y.gif
But I keep trying to stay calm. I try to remember what he has been through, his sickness and all the unfortunate things he has suffered. I try to calm down... :hpull:

There are many alternatives and some would depend on how he pops it (into a double, a triple) and not all of them are things he can probably do.

Say he pops it into a 2S. He can either leave that alone and he could maybe do 4T 3A3T 4T2T 3A-1lo-3S, but he always loses the difference in points between that and 3Lz.
Or he could try for the 2S-1lo-4S and then he'd do 4T 3A3T 3A2T 3Lz, and he'd only miss the points that make the difference between a 3S and 2S.
Or if he pops it into a 3S and manages to attach a 1lo-4S to it, he can just do the later layout too and not lose any points at all!
Or if he pops into a 3S-3T, then he could do 4T 3A2T 4T2T2Lo 3A maybe to make up for it, but he's never done a 2Lo combo that I've seen.
See, endless possibilities and not all are trained and practiced and thought of. And most of them lose him points.
Unless he decides to go for a 4Lz as last jumping pass. :scard7:

Ok, lets say he failed it and recovered in LP somehow.. but missing it in sp is suicide, he can't recover that and with no combo sp one can only loose as we saw at 4cc

Yes, we definitely should! Tea, chocolate and deep breaths. Though I think I'll end up breaking out the alcohol even if it's still early in the day here, on the day of the SP!
I mean if he pops it, he pops it, it's not the end of the world, he's had a difficult year! Though please Yuzuru, pop like a normal person into a triple, so that you can at least try to tack on the 3T? Please.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. The best case scenario for popping in the SP is that he pops the Sal into a triple and then can tack on the 3T, but that's providing he actually doesn't double it, which he usually does.
Honestly, it's the SP that needs to be clean. But I don't think he's going to change. We just need to cross everything and hope it works out somehow. He's in great form so maybe on the day he can simply muscle through it.

I was thinking the same thing, which is why I tried calculating the points of the different combos he is practising now and it doesn't seem to be giving him enough to make up for the loss.. Is there actually a chance that he would pop into a triple? I think all his pops have been doubles so far :scratch2:

ok guys calm down. I'm still feeling positive as ever.
I drew a 2-3min sketch of yuzu at work. I'm so sorry if it look alien (was speed drawing trying not to let anyone see), will improve with more time
Anyway, I wanted to draw him because I'm feeling good :luv17: (not sure why, been feeling like this since last week) as compared to feeling anxious throughout the whole of 4cc.
I hope this will bring him good luck! ;)
