March 28th, Worlds - OP Day 2 (FS)

New article from Sanspo.
Rough translation of Yuzu’s comment after today’s morning practice:
He said he’s in good condition and feeling good about his jumps despite the mistakes.
He said that he feels no pressure, and is being able to do his conditioning for the real thing maintaining confidence and coolness. He said he is getting more and more confident going into jumps while doing run-throughs.

ETA:movie of the same interview and some footages from the practice session.
Rough translation of his last comment:
”What’ s most important to me I think is to push my limit to the max and going into the competition in that condition.”

Hey guys! Still at practice and my battery is about to die, but here is the link from practices today. Like yesterday, I recorded the whole session, but at least no copyright problems this time (that was such a pain). I met the Pooh Bear couple from Boston and they were so nice!:

little bit of yuzu's run through, quad sal to biellmann spin the whole thing is so smooth
so I guess his back is fine with biellmann now?

Watching Dani's video, and I'm amused at how much happy clapping there was after Yuzu finally landed a 4S3T in this practice session.

Hey I also have free tickets to women's SP, men's SP, FS (all level 1) that my friend paid for and couldn't use. please PM me :D they are freee but I prefer if it's a Yuzu fan

Translation of Yuzuru's statements in this article. Glad to know he isn't hung up on this title too much, though he says that now!

Another footage of morning session from NHK
His comments are about focusing on himself and pushing his limit.

Yuzu in the cave!

Although the second session has began with Yuzu, found another article from Mainichi.
Rough translation of Yuzu’s comments and Yuzu-related parts:

-Asked about winning second title after 3 years
“I don’t feel like this is another Worlds. I don’t have obsession about winning second title either.”

-About the jump mistakes in the second half of his run-through
“The ice felt different from yesterday, probably due to the change of outside air temperature. There’s no special pressure. I’m being able to condition myself with confidence.”

-Prepared himself to get over 300 marks in total
“The most important thing is to push my limit to the max and going into the competition in that condition.” He said. Outside the run-through he was able to land the quadruple jumps easily. “I’m being able to focus on myself. I’m in very good condition.” He said with confidence.

-About losing by 3.75 at 4CC
“At 4CC I could not add a third jump to a combination, so I’ve practiced various combinations.”

-About jumps
“If I nail the jumps beautifully, my programs would be more exciting. So the jumps are important.”

ETA: Oops it has already been translated by @Iron Kraus! Sorry @xeyra for not checking enough. His/her version sounds more natural as English I think.

I can't believe I was mourning over 4S 4-3 years ago.. now it is pre olympic and I am mourning about 4S3T :slink: Idk if I want to laugh or to cry:biggrin:

This would be my DREAM layout:

4A
4A-2T
4Lo
4T
3F
3A-1Lo-4S
3A-3T
4Lz

I keep forgetting, it's 8 jumping passes and 12 total jumps right?

Take that, other people jumping 6-quad frees

On the bright side, his 4Lo got consistent a lot faster than 4S ever did!

Not that this helps any.

Well considering who we're talking about, you are probably quite close to the truth. I admit I would probably cackle myself out of the galaxy  Come on, it would be freaking hilarious.

Exactly, it's not even that unrealistic! His 4A would probably still be more consistent than most other guys' 3As

But yes, Fresca is right he could do the 4A out of steps as the solo jump. So: 4A, 3A + 4Lz3T. There, set

But could he not do 4A as his quad jump out of steps? And then another 3A?

So like 4A, 4Lz-3T, 3A?

That is ... an interesting question.

These are the full rules

Short Program of the season 2016 – 2017 must include 2 solo jumps:
- double or triple Axel for Senior & Junior Men and for Senior Ladies, double
Axel for Junior Ladies;
- a jump immediately preceded by connecting steps and/or other comparable
Free Skating movements:
Senior Men - any triple or a quadruple jump;
Senior Ladies - any triple jump;
Junior Men and Ladies - double or triple Loop.
For Senior Men when a quadruple jump is executed in a jump combination, a
different quadruple jump can be included as a solo jump. For Senior & Junior
Men and for Senior Ladies when the triple Axel is executed as an Axel jump, it
cannot be repeated again as a solo jump or in the jump combination. Solo jumps
must be different from the jumps included in the combination.

So technically maybe? I am not sure I see anything preventing that, it is only the 3A that cannot be repeated :scratch2:

Exactly, it's not even that unrealistic! His 4A would probably still be more consistent than most other guys' 3As

But yes, Fresca is right he could do the 4A out of steps as the solo jump. So: 4A, 3A + 4Lz3T. There, set

Hey, while we're at it, might as well max out the jump BV: 4A 3A 4Lz3Lo!

Yes, I was just looking at the rules. Hell. 4A and a 3A in the SP? His dream. :dbana:
And it's not unrealistic which is why I find the whole idea so funny. And why I want it.

^ Lol yes, can you imagine how happy he would be? how about a 3A4T too for the combo?

Hey, while we're at it, might as well max out the jump BV: 4A 3A 4Lz3Lo!

And since all Axels and combinations must be in the 2nd half...

Laugh. Also ignore the whole thing, not like we can do anything about it anyway and he'll do his thing on Wed, while we look through our fingers. So just join the crazy layout talk and laugh. It's relaxing!
Until, you know, he starts actually thinking about and doing that stuff....

From the updated video at the Practice Rink (SP run-through with music), that combo still has not performed its assigned duties, not even in SP? Correct me if I am not correct?

Ok, don’t worry, take it easy. There is enough time to adjust. :)

Anyway, that combo must be abandoned!

Yuzu, you CAN do other combos instead of that. :agree:

What about 4Lo3T or 4T3T or ... ...? :yay:
