what a beautiful podium it was
all 3 skaters deserved their medals

tbh i thought yuzu should've gotten higher on the GOEs too!
like c'mon all those elements were perfect technically and artistically
what more can anyone ask for??!

nonetheless perfection has prevailed :yahoo:

His SP placement and FS draw hasn't too favorable for the judges to go all out with him

To skate last, probs.

But, my God, Yuzu threw the gauntlet at the beginning and only Boyang and Shoma answered in kind. So proud of all my babies and especially of Yuzu. I am still feeling a bit hot about that absolutely slayage expression at the end of his FS. Shades of GPF 2015 and Worlds 2012. Then I was a'wwwing when he started crying when he saw his score. Both my Japanese bbs ending with a smile.

And now Yuzu goes into 2018 Olympics and reigning Olympic and World Champion. 2-time World Champion, they'll be able to say now! :hap93:

I think I am slightly, just slightly more coherent.

I am incredibly happy and at the same time, still ticked off, so I feel kind of bi-po right now. The protocols piss me off so much, you have no idea. I mean I know right away (and gladi too) just by looking at the scores that he was being held down for Shoma and Javier and really, in the end it was his pure genius, that he pulled out that skate, that tipped it over.

But they tried holding him back and it almost, almost worked. I absolutely loathe this nonsense. He saved himself but boy did they try to prevent that.

even with those salty GOEs judges gave him
he was so perfect that they had no choice but to give him a new world record
and a gold medal
true champion

i LOATHE this nonsense too!
all skaters should get the scores they deserve, regardless of draw order, etc.
if they perform beautifully and perfectly, why shouldn't they get top scores just because they went first?

so proud of yuzu overcoming all odds to prevail
what a privilege to watch him skate

honestly if he didn't get WR + Gold after that AMAZING, OUT OF THIS WORLD performance there'd probably be a riot

Perhaps the judges were too stunned and pushed the wrong buttons

Yuzuru's interview with CBC http://www.cbc.ca/player/play/911806019814

He says he can finally say he's been training hard in Toronto, because he thinks he had not up until now. Come on, Yuzu!

yuzu is way too hard on himself
he's his own worst critic
but then again it motivates him to achieve miracles like he did today...
it looks like a miracle but it's actually the result of talent + SO MUCH hard work
like his training is just so intense omg
breaking all physical barriers, this boy is

I was going to sleep a bit more after the mens free but I'm so excited I can't looool

lol me too
like i stayed up to watch the FS and ceremony and press con and all that
i wouldn't be able to sleep if i didn't watch it
and now i'm so happy and excited it will be hard for me to sleep anyway!
hahaha

it makes it even more amazing that he still won and broke a WR despite all that, doesn't it? :)

What it could have been if he'd skated last, I wonder... Then again, maybe being first helped his mentality. Just get it out of the way and throw down.

I finally stopped making weird noises, I think I won't be able to speak tomorrow. Soooo proud of him, he is defo some kind of amazing magician:yahoo:
