Also, I just want to say that every single one of his landings was sublime. Not +3 GOEs is just so clearly wrong I don't even know what to do about this sport anymore. (I don't really wanna talk about anyone else's landings because this is a happy moment, but just watch for yourself.)

I cried. And jumped out of my seat. And screamed. It was absolutely amazing. The most amazing end to a competition, to a season, to four years of exhilaration and dominance and heartbreak, starting when he landed on the top of the GPF podium in 2013 until now. There was nothing more I could have asked for from him. Nothing.

I am so happy for you, Yuzuru. Thank you.

I think we should also say congratulations to Team Cricket. They have world champions for this entire quad!! Not bad... yes, they're talented skaters, but if they're not prepared, it won't happen.

and well done to the team for getting Yuzu prepared for the long program after his "deeply depressing" short program. I know Yuzu is a fighter, but he needs support to get in the right mind set and they did it well today, last night, whenever it was needed.

After this event I truly believe three things from my heart. First, there is miracle so never give up; second, your efforts do pay off if you don't give up; last but not the least, Yuzu is the one picked by the Skating God, period.

Eh. PCS is one thing to not go all out with. GOE has clear bullet points so it shouldn't be a matter of "going all out" or "not"

IKR?
i didn't notice until u guys pointed out the protocol details but like why were his GOE so underscored?
TBH i think he should've gotten higher on PCS too cuz the way he skated that program is a WORK OF ART like i was so touched just watching him skate
even the commentators were gushing about how emotionally touching his skating was and stuff...

YES. Just. YES.

I'm so happy!!!! I can't stop smiling! Thank you, Yuzuru, so much for making all your fans proud and being true miracle on earth!

Not working hard until recently in Toronto? Slacker!! Brian, get out the whip!! I think it's more likely he should force him into a chair for a few minutes, lol!

I'm quite split at the moment too. Hahahah SP I felt split (AMAZING PERFORMANCE, OMG vs. UHHH, GOEs?) ... and FS I feel even more split (TEARS ALL ROUND vs... UHHHH, GOEs 2.0)
Clearly we all think that his PCS can be higher. But fine, that is "subjective". (TR 9.46? Give me a break.)
GOEs...... Does he have to TANO everything now to get +3? Seriously. No yuzu please don't. Go get that 4A instead.

Guess what? I am the most negative person in this thread, and when I am not you guys should know he would make it.

Screw the judges, they have to see him differently now. :curse:

shoma passed out after press conference ended and yuzu busy with signing lol

You could see it happening during the conference. Shoma's eyes were glazed over, his head was bobbing, he forgot the questions... it was so funny watching it. Boy was tired and showed it... get up and sign your autographs kid. You made the real big time now and have to do your media job!! Get up and watch how to please the media like your compatriot!!! Love both of these guys.

Yuzu, congratulations. You did it. And you did it with style. I'm speechless, that was amazing. Thank you.
What else can I say? Never underestimate the heart of a champion.

This competition was truly inspirational. Coming from 5th into 1st. WOW, it's really amazing, I can't imagine the pressure he must've felt, it's great he felt very supported!!. I'm extremely happy seriously :ghug:

what an absolute inspiration this guy is!
like watching his determination and the way he fights on is just so inspiring
and his epic skating is just incredible!!!

i agree with you absolutely about the scoring!!!
like c'mon those jumps, landings, all those elements in that performance were perfect technically and artistically
what in the world would he not get top GOEs???
i watched the entire event and i won't comment on others but everyone with eyes can see what yuzu did just now with his FS is ON ANOTHER LEVEL
he's been so underscored thru this whole competition i dunno what to say anymore without breaking into cussing

that said, yuzu showed the world why he's the world record holder / world champ / olympic champ / grand prix champ / etc
"hope and legacy" is the best description because his skating and sporting spirit is a symbol of hope
his greatness and contribution to this sport will leave a lasting legacy

he will become an inspiration for all future generations of skaters to follow
he'll be one of the greats like the skating legends of before
