That was face-palm worthy.
But he was great during the skate itself, I love how he commented on Yuzuru's jumps, and I do agree. The Italian ladies agreed about the lightness of the skate.

He is always very complimentary towards Yuzuru, I think. I hope someone compile all of this commentary from different sources, would love to watch it. They must have praised him to the sky above; and then when he flop his first GP again they all will be like "This is so unlike Yuzuru Hanyu???What happened???" :p

p.s : anywho I am glad he really was able to shift his peaking time AND increasing his average score at the same time, which seem to be TCC team's goal (the prior) and his own (the latter). What a good day for everybody :)

It's top two skaters from ... I don't know which countries, but it's always those same ones. Japan, USA, Canada, Russia, etc. So it would be Yuzu and Shoma for Japan.

Top 2 for singles + top pairs + top ID from 6 top countries in the country standing

Oooh yaaaay. Yuzu only went once before so I thought it was due to special circumstances. Thank you.

Hi guys, I just came back from ice dance & dinner (food in the arena is :noshake:). Sorry i haven't been keeping up this thread but i was running around trying to go to all the practices and events, and not sleeping...these things are a marathon!

I just want to say that after Boston last year, I wanted to come to Finland because I also believed that it is yuzuru's lucky place and I'm so happy that it's still true! During the FS, I just wanted him to enjoy the skate no matter the placement. But a little part of me did believe he could win (historical patterns and all that). So when the 6 minute warmup started I was calm. Although when he fell on the 3A during warmup that was almost shaken. I took a deep breath before he started, and willed myself (and yuzuru) to just focus on each element. The 4Lo took my breath away, that was beautiful! and then he just hit each one as if it was destiny. You all have probably seen how much the crowd screamed when he landed the 4S combo, everybody was lending him their power. It was incredible. I'm so honored to have been able to be there and witness it live. I'm still somewhat speechless.

That said, I'm verrrrry angry about the GOES :scowl: :scowl: I watched everybody's landings closely and NOBODY deserves as many +3 as Yuzu. Frankly all his jumps should've been +3 aside from the Lutz which was wobbly. I mean if you compare with certain other skaters. The fact that he didn't get +3 GOE on any of his jumps? That's criminal. And like max ambesi said, even scandal (I was thrilled he retweeted me :))

Overall though, I enjoyed the competition quite a bit. Patrick and Yuzuru's FS were my favorites of the men this season and I'm overjoyed to have seen them performed live. And Patrick landing the 4S like a boss (another one who's being underscored now).

Are you all planning another meeting?

Kurt was complimentary. Throughout the broadcast he has been talking about how perfect his landings were (vs, boyang's), how when he is in the zone he is unstoppable, even when he was bowing it was more like he was conducting the audience, rather than bowing... when he does a complete program like that the judges have to throw the marks at him etc.. He actually was pretty quiet throughout the program which I appreciated....

And did talk about shoma's pre rotation on the ice!!!

The NY Times posted an article about Yuzuru! So cool that such a prominent newspaper wrote about him ^0^ I love how humble Yuzu is despite just having the skate of his life.

I missed the commentary and only caught onto where I could watch by the time Nathan's came up T_T I'll wait for some kind soul to upload it, fingers crossed ^_____^
Prerotation not a myth, lol ^_^

More than likely! But it will be interesting next season, as he'll come in with a full training period below his belt, which is way different than what he had this season. But WTT first then we have the whole summer to go through the rest in a million and one ways!
Check your PMs.

I wonder how often New York Time writes about figure skating? The last time they wrote about FS was since when? Anyone a follower of NY times? :luv17:

If he goes to WTT this will really be a long season for him!, how I wish he could rest already and prepare mentally for next season.

I'm about to get my beauty sleep. Still can't believe that my prediction came true. I should have posted my 1-2-3 in the official topic for it, would totally have won!
Anyway, been a crazy day, but tomorrow is gala time!!! I hope to see a very blingy and feathery swan!

I think they wrote a short excerpt sometime this year about nathan chen but I don't recall when exactly. It was about the 5-quads and included in a wider topic about winter sports
So yeah, an article about Yuz is real noteworthy!

Lol well there was also one about Nathan the day before yesterday. It's the same writer I think he covers winter sport?
