i've been on a expedition all weekend with no signal until last night, and the first thing i did when i had 4g was watch the fs, and holy if it wasnt the single-most perfect thing ive ever seen done on ice:luv17:

Yup, lucky to have my 2 favourite sportsmen do well. I also notice some similarities between them and think they are wonderful ambassadors for their sports.

Whenever Roger plays in Toronto I make sure to go see him and when SC was in Mississauga I made sure to see Yuzu. People like them do not come along every day so I want to see them in person. It is to my eternal regret that I passed on the opportunity to see Gordeeva and Grinkov live and after he died I promised myself to always see my favourites at least once in person.

I've noticed some people have been saying that Yuzuru isn't JFS's favourite, can someone explain why that is?

I haven't seen any actual facts so take this as just gossip. Unfortunately I think the media like to create rivalries, conflict, etc as it makes a better story. Yuzuru even mentioned that pressure from the media can be intense.

Many of the Japanese skaters know each other pretty well from all the competitions, summer shows, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if Shoma and Yuzuru have known each other for 10 years.

CBC didn't say much. Only commented on Yuzu's amazing ability to turn a step out into choreo. His FS was Carol Lanes highlight of the competition though.

so page count within a week of the WC - around 200. Not bad! :) And we're not done yet!
Rest now, dear Yuzu! Hmmm, any information as to where he's heading now?

Only?! I think everyone's still experiencing heart palpitations (including me) and is having a hard time forming words.

I think 4CC just created an unusually high level of hysteria around the entire forum. The pre-event thread for Worlds didn't live up to expectations, either

March 30th, Worlds - OP (SP)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsr7XQAjBEU

live practice, they are in the 6 minutes warm-up, Yuzu wil be up first ;)

Group 6 is on the ice!!!

3a from back counter

4s3t!!!!!

And pops the axel.... omg I can't even.

That fall from the 4Lo right in front of me...

5 loop pops in a row, here we go again

Yuzuru Hanyu 1Lo, 2Lo, 3Lo, 1Lo, 2Lo;

4Lo, don't you go pouting now that Yuzu made up with 4S3T! Behave!

The fall probably rattled him but according to Jackie Wong he did end up fully rotating the 4Lo by the end of practice, so hopefully that'll calm him down for later.

Some people said during his run through, into the 3A, some people took photos with flash.
I don't know if it affected him or not. But....

They're not allowed to take photos with flash during competition right? I just want to be sure.

I just saw a fancam. When he ran towards the 3A, it's not normal flash. There were 2 huge leds (very very huge I mean) turned on and it's distracting. I think it was the leds by some television.
I don't know if it affected him or not. But right after he popped the 3A. They turned off the leds. :whack: I don't know which television was they, but hopefully they're not allowed to turn on such huge leds during competitions.

Edit here's the video https://www.facebook.com/groups/1610393525875114/permalink/1877229499191514/

Some glimpses of Yuzu and Shoma at practice this morning. Disclaimer for your heart: includes a 1Lo but then a 4Lo with stepout.

Edit: Pamigena captured video of the 4Lo entrance stumble. It's not as bad as I thought it would be, just probably surprised him a lot. He caught his blade on the ice and fell backwards, but I thought it'd be a lot scarier than it was. These people know how to fall.

Not only Fuji, but also some fans were using flashlights. (captured image) If they understand English well, they should have switched off the light, so they might be from Japan. I’m ashamed.

Regarding Fuji, as someone said in earlier post they were shooting video from the short side. (Footage they broadcasted a while ago) I think the lights were mainly for shooting the reporters and in the video posted by Meioma, they seemed to switch off the light after Yuzu popped 3A, so hopefully this won’t happen in actual SP or other practice sessions...:palmf:

He fell right infront of where I was sitting my heart stopped there for a moment and he was checking his boots right after that and I was worried he might have been injured but he seemed to be fine! The loop situation was unfortunate but he wasn't really hung up about it. If anything he looked a little annoyed? but in a playful way. He was just sliding along most of the time thinking.... sometimes I really wish I could hear his thoughts?? what is going on in that beautiful head??

ALSO I got to witness his wink right into my direction during the runthrough!!! I died!!! guys he's actually so much more beautiful in person. he is an actual fairy 😍

From Pamigena, who I am basically stalking on Tumblr now, from today's (March 30) morning practice:

3A
4T
4S3T

Practice video by honeyhappiness, where you really hear people's happiness at him landing that 4S3T combo.

For thos who missed the practice but would like to see it anyway, you can still watch here (it's possible to "rewind so to speak") https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsr7XQAjBEU

Yuzu starts at 3:00:00

Dmitri Aliev's coach on Yuzuru Hanyu :3
For those with high objectives, Hanyu is like a blinding explosive stimulus. Instead of making other skaters prostate themselves before him, he induces them to take flight pursuing him into the far corners of the universe.

ok I did another quick sketch of yuzu with pooh but with colour this time! Yuzu's skin have no colour though (forgot to add at the start and now idk how lol). :luv17: Hope this brings him good luck again  ;)

I finished my H&L drawing.

I am at the skating rink now, dealing with my nerves. Everything will go well today!

Judge 5 CAN :
Despise Yuzuru lol. PCS (93.5) give him lower PCS than Shoma (95, are you drunk), Boyang (80.5) Nathan (79.5) Patrick (94.5) Javi (91) --> it almost felt like J5 spite Yuzu lol
Highest GOE for Yuzu (18.2) Shoma (12.8), Boyang (6.8) Nathan (-8.4) Patrick (14.7, generous I might say) Javi (3)

Funny Judge 5.
+3 for everything-plus-kitchen-sink 3F, seemed-a-little-off-axis-but-out-of-ina-bauer 3Lz.
+2 for 4Lo, 4S (really?!) , 3A-2T (really??!?!)
+1 for 4S-3T, 4T, 3A-lo-3S
+0 for FCSSp ^_^||

As reference, he gave
+3 GOE to Shoma's 3A-3T and 3A-lo-3F
+3 to Patrick's 4S.
+3 to Javier's 4T,

:scratch2:

I was looking at judge 5 and thought who the heck is that person, giving Yuzu such rotten marks for such perfect moves... sure enough, the Canadian :palmf:. It's embarrassing to be from the same country as this fool. I just don't get it.

[Screenprint poster - Men] - (click image for larger view)

With the start of the Worlds 2017 and the men's SP, I wanted to upload a screenprint I've been working on for the past two weeks compiling the top men of the field. It's a three-layer screenprint done in the process of black india ink on .004 clear polyester film, then exposed on the emulsion-coated screen.

I've always wanted to try making a poster-themed print focused on the dynamic poses of figure skating.
I had tons of fun planning, creating and printing this! :) Excited for the SP right now!
(I'll be posting this on the Worlds thread also since it's a fanart of multiple skaters and I'm really happy with the result)

Who can even see with this kind of video quality :drama:

ISU streaming the backstage but not the actual competition!:palmf:

Worlds - Short Program

We need to have a fancam of his face of this to appease our broken hearts https://twitter.com/corszk1220/status/847458798843252736

Why did he received a -4 on the 4S? It was a fall? https://twitter.com/hanyuyuzurufeed/status/847462127312842754

Javier FERNANDEZ 109.05
Shoma UNO 104.86
Patrick CHAN 102.13
Boyang JIN 98.64
Yuzuru HANYU 98.39
Nathan CHEN 97.33

The scores are out, 2.71 on the 3A, 2.43 on 4Lo, and -4 on 4S :( And one judge gave him mostly 9.00 on PCS, what.

https://twitter.com/kottymarusan/status/847463315433324545
Interview after the SP. Of course he's kuyashii and wants a perfect FS... (You enjoyed it? Really?)
Also, that "maa, ano..."after they ask him what performance he wants to give (?) In the FS, he sounded like he was going to break down and cry...

FS draw ... Yuzu will skate first in the last group

His starting number is 19

No it was not counted as a fall. It was automatic -3 for No combo. And since his 2T was not counted as combo, it's -3 and for quads it's -4.

He got -1 for late start (start at 30.3)

Group 4 Skating Order:
Yuzuru Hanyu
Nathan Chen
Boyang Jin
Patrick Chan
Shoma Uno
Javier Fernandez

Not sure how I feel about this ><
