Hi everyone! Sorry to be late. Late at night on Monday I came back from Helsinki to my home. Since then, I was busy to catch up the information besides my daily works! I have tons of information to share with you, and still have not written a eport and checked a lot of photos of mine. My network was terribly bad and I couldn’t access the information, watch videos, and comment here…. Further, my PC didn’t work!
Now I’m coping with my work little by little…
Yuzu got many interviews and we can get so much information this time. I want to share something which will interest you although part of them are already shared. But this thread goes so fast and I’m trying to catch up, but it’s almost impossible! Thanks everyone for all the updates and comments.
Further, I will show my photos and videos (if there’s something good. It’s my first experience to take photos or so, and it was very difficult. Yuzu was so fast and far! ) to you later.

About report… what can I say? Now I repeat and repeat the performances. At the practice of the day of SP, I was just ecstatic, like “yuzu is there! yuzu is there!”. Yuzu got so strong and manly after 1 year or more since I’d seen him last time. It just explained what he’d achieved and experienced during this period and it made me delighted. Oh, the guy at his age grows so fast?

At SP, I was on a lower level seat. Yuzu was near, and during 6min warm up, I kept taking photos. About 4sal, I didn’t know that his combo was not admitted. The performance itself was phenomenal. His blades were skating well and he felt light like a feather. It was a just yuzu world. During his performance, I really hoped that it never ended…
But of course, his score and his result of 5th made me down completely that night and next day until FP…

The FP seat was at the upper seat, far away from the rink. A Chinese girl sat next to me, and we watched together. Actually, I don’t remember well. Until he got the last jump, I was in a panic mode! I was watching what he was trying to express. Breeze, trees… the beautiful nature, lyricism… It really reached me. but anyway, I didn’t remember detail. After he stood at 3lutz, I got crazy and just repeated, “yuzu, yuzu…”… hahaha…and depended on the next girl. Lol. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Of course, the people on the arena stood up and clapped. As my impression, Most of people at the upper gallery was local people. They were totally attracted by his performance. The arena shook. At his interview, I knew when he was towards the ending, he was thinking about the pose at ending. His hand hung up like Nice was what he’d intended. Yuzu also felt something similar to Nice? This is European competition and Javi’s fans were very loud and had impact as the way of cheer. So the cheer for Jave sounded bigger. But yuzu got the giggest pray from the arena. We knew his struggle so far. We just prayed for him sincerely and seriously. This was just impressive. He is really a happy skater. So many fans have had received many things from his performances, his attitudes,,, etc. and he can receive a lot of lot of love from them! This is interactive and it’s very a toughing side of this sports.
Shoma got 2nd, and Boyang got 3rd. So the podium was quite satisfactory for us, me and the Chinese girl.lol.
At the ceremony, Japanese audience also sang the national anthem, which was rare according to my Japanese friend who often goes to overseas competition. We know how yuzu respect national flag and anthem, so we sang it together naturally? Anyway, I was just happy for medalists.

The meeting with fans, GS members and International group was just impressive. Thanks everyone. I was so sad to part with them. We spend together for the very intensive days. We tied to each other. It was just because of yuzu!

I could manage to watch the small medal ceremony. Precisely, most of the time, through my camera! Haha, I’d heard the front audience began to wait before the arena around AM 3:00 to 4:00 in the minus degree of Helsinki! Anyway, very heartwarming small medal ceremony! All of them were so lovely and yuzu looked only 16 or 17 yo guy.

EX was also the seat at the seal gallery. I really thought I should have taken a nice seat… I felt something dark inside me like agony was purified. I thought I could believe something good, something beautiful in this world and thought I would never get angry. lol. This is yuzu’s power.

Anyway, since FP, I’m always smiling. Lol.

Yeah but a Sal's difference is only 0.3 in the score sheets, plus Yuzu did all his combinations in the 2nd half which would give him more points, whereas Javi did 2 of his in the first half. Doesn't exactly make sense, plus the fact that he did trip near the end (after his Triple Flip-Half Loop-Triple Salchow combination). I still don't get how he got 0.34 points more than Hanyu. Even with the 2 +3 in his quads.

I think that Yuzu's NHK performance was also better than his GPF one - I found Barcelona to be maybe the most overscored event in the history of figure skating
But maybe is just me - I was just so amazed and shocked after NHK FS  that performance will also be in my heart as THE performance who changed Figure Skating :points:

Yuzuru's Chopin at GPF 2015 was clearly better than NHK 2015 for sure.

The LP at GPF Barcelona was that, the men in general skated very good and they up and up the scores as much as they could. Patrick skated first and he did well, they threw good scores at him, then Shoma then Javi skated well and they thew big scores at them too. So Yuzuru skated last, his scores went up even higher because he DID BETTER than them.

Who to blame then? Blame the judges who overscores the previous skaters first.

The scores at this WC was reversed, because the judges saved scores for Shoma and Javi, so they gave Yuzuru some stingy 1 and even 0 because they expected Shoma and Javi to win silver or gold. They did expect Yuzuru to medal, not to win. Not many people think you can win from 5th place after SP. So there's that too. Had Yuzuru skated last, he would have hit 130 TES and 230 in LP might be very possible.

So for Yuzuru to break his own WR in total, he has to skate clean back to back and he has to skate last.

Totally agree, I feel as if the quality of everything at NHK was so much better than the GPF one.

Really? I think the 4T3T at GPF was better, his landing at GPF was a bit low but his landing at NHK was shaky. But the overall performance quality is pretty much the same to me. Of course there is always that level 3 Stsq :p

I liked both Seimei's but I think people have more sentimental attachment to the NHK one for being THE ONE. The first. They were both equally good and there were some details different in both (the 3Lz arm movement at GPF, for example, which I kind of always thought was a check for balance that just looked like arm choreo). And, well, he did get StSq3 at GPF. Something he solved for his WR with H&L, all hail the levels!

I just rewatched his WC performance. Dang, that 4Lo both at the SP and LP were really high-quality and +3 GOE-material now compared to how they were in the GP series. I am so so glad that he managed to stabilize it in time.

I wonder if he is confident enough with his 4Lo now, will he do a 4Lo3T? He can still improve his BV in SP more by >1 pts if he put his 4S in the second half alongside the 3A
So something like : 4Lo3T / 4S 3A
Or if he is confident enough to do 4Lo in the second half : 4S3T / 4Lo 3A

This WC, I think he swallowed the bitter pill of how it is like to put the combo after the solo jump, because you can't salvage it. I think it is better to do the combo first so that if something goes wrong he can always attach the 3T for the next jump. But Brian said Yuzuru is the no-safety-net guy so... :slink:

I think there was a time he tried to put the combo on his first quad, 4T, back in his younger senior days. He just rarely landed the 4T so he ended up putting the combo on the 3Lz more often than not. At most, he ended up doing 4T2T once or twice. However, that was then. The general feeling now is that Yuzu thinks a combo as first jumping pass is for the weak. :palmf:

He won't skate to anything Korean, but I can daydream abt Lee Sun Hee's Fate no? Or the Iljimae OST Lonely Footprints?

O M G This is also my secret dream music choice ever since I watched the movie. Someone needs to skate to it.

Does anyone know any good Yuzuru MADs?

Someone posted these a few a lot of pages ago and they quickly became my favourites from them all:

http://www.bilibili.com/video/av4360069/ (!!! - the best for me)

I love when these montages actually express the music, the lyrics or the changes in tempo. all of the ones that use COC 2014 I give minus point tho lol, but this is an exception
Because of that this Unstoppable became also one of my favourites, thanks to whoever posted it just now.

Others, I posted these before, also love them:

For some older ones I forgot to post this Yuzuru and Mao MAD , this one and this warning: depressing

The SP was not even bad. He had a foot down and doubled the toe. A less stricter panel might even have not counted it as +COMBO* and just counted it as 4S2T. Some made it seem like he fell on his butt on the SP or something :p He should not be so hard on himself (or kuyashii about it) in the short, I think it was pretty great

It was great SP for me, maybe even better then GPF one. And received a score similar to 4CC one with popped 4S :scratch2:

Completely agree with this: NHK Seimei was the best :D

I also prefer the NHK Seimei. Not in terms of overall quality, but it had a different feeling, it was more passionate, expressive one maybe.

Yeah, I meant back then having a 4T/ 3A 3lz3T layout was indeed more beneficial BV-wise than 4T3T/ 3A 3Lz. But when you have 2 quads in the first half, I think it is safer to do the combo first. This season it made sense because 4Lo is a new jump, I am just wondering if he is now really confident with it, will he change things around. Or if he still insisted on doing the combo after the solo jump, he could at least do it in the second half (4Lo/4S3T 3A) so it would benefit his BV at the very least?

Of course all this scenario about his SP layout only applies if he does not intend to include 4Lz in the SP.

There's one more with a really cool blueish countdown theme where it goes 3,2,1 towards the climax but I cant find it nor rmb the name. If anyone has an inkling of what it might be, pls tell me, thanks.

Ahah found it!

I think that Brian's initial plan was to add the 4Lo later this season, when the success rate in training would have been higher, because at the beginning of the season he felt that Yuzu'performances suffered from the 4Lo and that Yuzu spent too much time working on the 4Lo. But Yuzu insisted on adding it right from the beginning to gather more experience about it in competition and "do the mistakes now", and Brian understood. (ie Yuzu took the grand prix series as a training and knew perfectly well that his performance would suffer from it, and accepted it, because he knew that in the long term it was the best approach - which was pretty brave and clever).
So in any case Yuzu would have had the 4Lo at worlds, I think. Especially with Shoma and Nathan adding new quads in their programs every month or almost ;)

But yes Yuzu was totally right to insist, because he indeed gathered a lot of experience with the 4Lo and it is now a very reliable jump for him (and how beautiful ! :luv17:)

Well probably Yuzuru is already a grandfather in skating at age 22. He needs one whole season to perfect the 4Lo.
Shoma the teenager at age 19 takes only quarter of a season.

I don't think that's the reason. He just broke his ligament, I think any sane coach would be reluctant if their pupils upgrade their layout after they are off-ice for months and has yet regained their top form.
