:agree: Where is it that Kurt analyzed Shoma's technique? I think it is a big deal that he mentioned it.
Not necessarily, depending on what the judges are doing
You also have to remember that Nathan apparently trains the 4Lo and that Shoma seems to now be thinking about a 4Lz (), so I'd rather think Yuzu might even need the 4Lz to not get the 'game over' himself.
Bless his hips, cause his edge jumps are not that stable honestly.I know for sure that Nathan can land the Quad Loop, one of my coaches is Nathan's Godfather n teaches him spins n stuff, and has seen him land all the Quads apart from Axel.
This is exactly what my friend who is doing dance told me. And her profession is Chinese traditional dance. She said all those top men will be thrown out of a serious dance competition from round 1.Only Yuzuru and maybe Nathan (if his body doesn't change too much) can be considered as having acceptable body lines for dance.
she says Yuzuru's body is what most dancers prefer to have.
My friend also says he is very natural and very musical, his moves and sense of rhythm is what she prefers.
And there's a Ballet choreographer (yes he's a professional) who saw Yuzuru at GPF 2015 became an Uber Yuzuru's fan. He replayed Yuzuru's performance and said something like "I have never seen anyone sensitive to every music note in such a natural way" :luv17:
I will never go out and call Yuzuru as "balletic". I am not a ballet fan at all, it looks so restrictive to me. But I am surrounded by ballet fans and even dance teachers. So it's annoying to see people on this forum or others throwing out that "balletic" comment so frequently. :roll9:
I mean, if these skaters were balletic then the ballet dancers my friends are adoring are... dancing gods from heaven?![]()
Me too.
His 3Lz entry for HnL is pretty, almost immediate, I wonder if it can be applied for 4Lz. If he goes back to Toronto in late April to get his choreo, there is a chance he might debut them on late May's ice show right? So we don't have too wait for so long like last season![]()
You're probably joking but before anyone takes this the wrong way, no, this isn't Morozov's blog or anything related to him. :rofl2:
There's a certain kind of light-headedness you feel when you realize you're watching a truly great performance. It's that sense of wonder bought on when your mind comprehends that what you're watching is not someone who is very talented, or even great relative to their peers . . . instead, it's that sense of scales recalibrating in your head when you realize that your notion of excellence in sport, and your understanding of what an athlete is capable of, is smashed to smithereens and entirely transformed. I remember feeling that light-headedness while watching Mr. Hanyu skate at NHK Trophy two weeks ago, and though mightily impressed, the cynic in me wrote it off as a fluke. It just wasn't possible for someone capture lightning in a bottle twice and sustain that level of excellence . . . wasn't it?
Not for the first time, I was forced to eat my words as I watched Yuzuru Hanyu at the Grand Prix Final this year. And for the second time in two weeks, I experienced a déjà vu moment as I watched those mind-boggingly difficult transitions, the huge, airy quads, the commanding footwork, the complex choreography, the power, flow, and speed across the ice, the record-obliterating scores. It wasn't until later when I realized the impetus behind that weird light-headed feeling of what the f*** did I just watch--it was just my brain finally comprehending that what Mr. Hanyu did at NHK was no fluke, and I was indeed watching someone to whom the normal rules do not apply.
330.43 points. And to think, just a few weeks ago, the 300 point barrier had not yet been breached, and it was considered very impressive to hit the 280s. Will Yuzuru Hanyu ever top that score? Will anyone ever top that anytime soon? I don't know. But what I do know is that people are already bestowing the "Greatest of All Time" epithet on Yuzuru Hanyu. And after what happened tonight, I'm starting to agree.

According to translate, Max says Yuzu changes 3Lz to 4Lz when he succeeds his run-through at TCC. So some people who related to him were scared during LP.
In the interview, Yuzu said he tried to jump 5 quads, but he didn't have enough energy. If Max is right, 5th quad was 4Lz which was from Ina Bauer, and maybe it was 60% rate...

So, when he talked about doing five quads in the free skate he meaned 4Lz? And he didn't do it because of the lack of energy...omgAccording to translate, Max says Yuzu changes 3Lz to 4Lz when he succeeds his run-through at TCC. So some people who related to him were scared during LP.

Now I start to think that 4Lz is more then possible for WTT.
I was glad he didn't do it.. I really want to see his 4Lz but not in a such important event like world's.. If he want to YOLO it, do it in WTT or maybe next season..

But at the same time he didn't jump any 4Lz in RTs at Worlds.
Yes, no 4Lz in practice at Worlds means he wasn't thinking seriously about including it.I suspect his plan was probably 4T-1lo-3S, which unfortunately would have meant one less 3A. Because no one in their right mind would jump a 4Lz as last jumping pass outside of mad TCC training. Right?????
