Hard to believe Yuzuru doesn't want to do NHK especially after he missed the Nationals. If JSF still choose Shoma over him...Their neglection will be too obvious. Sure I will be happy if Yuzuru does CoR but more than that I want what's the best for him. I rewatched SP&LP and wanna get my hands on judges again. :dev2:
Just butting in: whatever issues Yuzu might have with JSF and they with him, not getting NHK wouldn't be a sign of neglect. The Japanese lady who sat next to me at Worlds, definitely a Yuzu fan, was doubtful wheter Yuzu would get assigned there because Shoma is the national champion. It seemed to me that this tradition of having the national champion at NHK is so strong that not inviting him might be disrespectful and even for Yuzu an exception is not expected. The lady was all, "Yuzu rarely goes to Europe but next season you might get lucky!"

Shows don't pay that much actually. Aliona and Bruno said they only received 4K per shows in Japan (This is after Sochi, they are still 5x WC and Olympic medalist by then). Granted, Yuzuru is a crowd attractor and he would make way way way more than that, but it still compared very little to the amount he would have received from 1 endorsement. Endorsement would give him 6 figures each year per product. and now he has like more than 6 (or almost 10?) active endorsements. I don't think his income/earnings are affected much with less/no ice shows. Especially since it is olympic year, there is very little benefit for him personally to do so many. FaOI only has 3 stops this year and I doubt he would do DoI :think:

Unfortunately he was not in Helsinki this time, and he is complaining ("mumbling" from his seat before TV, he says) about the camera work, especially the ending of Yuzuru's FS.
As for "Seimei", he did a pose to unspell his Shikigami at the end of the program. His program lasts to the very end of it. So, Nagakubo-san wanted to see Yuzuru pointing at the sky in the end of H&L as the perfect completion of the program.
I want to translate this article, but a bit later as I have some assignment this weekend.
In any case, the camera angles in Helsinki were frustrating to me as well. I didn't like the ceiling camera they used. And they sometimes even lost skaters from the frame
I sincerely hope TV crew in Korea will be improved with their skills by the Olympics. I was not satisfied with the camera work in 4CC either.

I believe nihil is referring to the JSF politely finding a way to not invite Yuzuru to NHK, not the fan. Like what Fayruza was saying, Yuzuru was the reigning national champion and the highest placer among the Japanese men at 2013 Worlds, but Daisuke was the one sent to NHK the next season. Then again, JSF also got both Yuzuru and Daisuke at 2012 NHK even against general rules (1-3 seeds at Worlds shouldn't meet on the GPS, and they were 2 and 3 at 2012 Worlds), so who knows what will happen next season.

The key word here is Japanese. They generally avoid washing their's dirty linen in public. And I was talking about JSF not about that fan? sorry for my vague comment.

But I thought it was because Yuzu wanted to go against Patrick and that's why he went to both of the GPs where he was? And well, back then Dice was the big money maker for JSF, it would be logical for him to compete in Japan. Yuzu is definitely in that position now, so I don't think that, if he's not at NHK, it would be because he's not invited but rather because he turned it down.
So are we getting SC + NHK again this year

Ah, I see. I don't know... She didn't sound like she thought it'd be some great injustice, she was the one who pointed out the possibility to me, that Yuzu might not get assigned to NHK and why. I was also surprised that she didn't show much disappointment that the ladies lost their 3 Olympic spots, she just said "It's fate".
I forgot about Daisuke - the precedence has been set, so indeed, who knows what will happen. Like Daisuke back then Yuzu is definitely the most popular one now (there was just no comparison in how the Japanese fans I sat amongst reacted to Yuzuru vs Shoma, there was no doubt for whom they came
) and additionally he's coming off a Worlds win. So yea, it could go either way. It looks like there's more factors to those decisions than suspected! I think NHK would be the safest for Yuzu because the JSF would probably do whatever they could not to invite Nathan. But then again given Yuzuru's supremacy, they might want to protect Shoma against Nathan more.

Lol, in all fairness, Yuzuru GP gold medals were only from CoR and NHK. And he has gotten his third NHK gold medal already. I doubt his Japanese fans would be upset at the chances of his completing his gold medal collection from other GPs like TdF or CoR or SA. (Not SC, he can't win SC or he will disturb the balance of the world
) Beside, it is much EASIER to get ticket for event abroad. If I were his hardcore fan who is willing to travel abroad to watch his competition, I would prefer for him to compete abroad, because I have higher chances in getting ticket than having to go through lottery ticketing in Japan's event - Status
