It looks like there's more factors to those decisions than suspected! I think NHK would be the safest for Yuzu because the JSF would probably do whatever they could not to invite Nathan. But then again given Yuzuru's supremacy, they might want to protect Shoma against Nathan more.

Not meeting Shoma or Yuzuru is US Fed mutual interest too, I bet. They probably would prefer Nathan going against Boyang twice (in CoC and SA) rather than having to go against Yuzuru or Shoma.

To finish my thought... Just like JSF wanting to protect Yuzu/Shoma against Nathan at NHK, USFS might want to protect Nathan so they might choose Boyang out of the top 3. I don't know what spots Yuzu will get, but I might know Boyang's!

Lol, in all fairness, Yuzuru GP gold medals were only from CoR and NHK. And he has gotten his third NHK gold medal already. I doubt his Japanese fans would be upset at the chances of his completing his gold medal collection from other GPs like TdF or CoR or SA. (Not SC, he can't win SC or he will disturb the balance of the world ) Beside, it is much EASIER to get ticket for event abroad. If I were his hardcore fan who is willing to travel abroad to watch his competition, I would prefer for him to compete abroad, because I have higher chances in getting ticket than having to go through lottery ticketing in Japan's event

I still think he would get NHK lol. Whether he will choose SC or CoR is the question. Yuzuru got to state his first preferences anyway, before Shoma and Boyang. Unless the Fed (SC or RusFed) doesn't want him, he would get either SC/CoR. So if he does not go to NHK this year, I think it would be because of his own request.

Anyway CoR+NHK for Yuzu, SC+TDF for Shoma and CoC + SA for Jin seems like a convenient schedule for all the 3 of them. Shoma and Boyang might have less rest time before GPF but they would be in GPF timezone during the rest, so everyone should be happy.

Javi is in a different seed, (there are chances that both Yuzu and Javi is going to go to COR for example, if Yuzu picks CoR). So for Kolyada or RusFed, whether it is between Yuzuru, Shoma or Boyang in the 1-3 seed who got invited, does not make much of a difference for his chances, in my opinion. They have to invite the 4-6 seed too (between Chan, Javi and Nathan). Chan can not go because he will be SC host pick definitely (SC is the week after COR). So they are left with Nathan and Javi, and I bet you they would prefer to have Javi (and I doubt US Fed want Nathan to go to Russia + Javi would likely want CoR too). Having both Yuzu and Javi is good for the $$$ too (and less travel for Brian and the gang lol)

But yes! 2-3 months until we will know

ETA: I know he doesn't care all that much, but CoR and NHK are the only events he's ever won hwell: SC and TDF would make me very happy, plus the pattern would be alive and well (but does he need to get a silver medal at both? )

I would prefer yuzu do SC, it is part of his formula for winning later on, lol, but I would be fine with Shoma... I wonder how he would fare against Patrick in Canada... or maybe it is just a yuzu thing to be 2nd here!! My guess is SC would not mind inviting Yuzu again... it always seems to benefit Patrick and they certainly fill up the seats.

Oh, SC is always glad to invite Yuzu - afterall that's just wonderrrrful chance for them to push his PCS down to the basement, while Patrick and other tops have good boost from the start of the season. :sarcasm:
I'm not sure about RusFed and their attitude, but SC absolutely means PSC <90 for Yuzu :disagree:

Im with you on that. It is Olympics year and his schedule will be so full from the start of the season that staying close to home would be best... and he would also find out what his lowest pcs would be... it is always good to know the bottom and work up from there, right??

I wonder if AC is in the cards again this year.... well, we have months to speculate.

I hope he gets to be where he wants to be. And yet the selfish part of me wishes for TdF, or, even better, if CoR is moved to Germany (not that I wish that on the Russian fans though). It would deplete my resources still, but it wouldn't be so far from central Europe for me, and would be worth a try. In a predictions game, I'd put my money on TdF and SC.

Oh I don't know, I think having 5 consecutive GPF wins would be quite symbolic... But yes, if he does GP I hope he takes it easy, since the desired peaking time is February.

That's why I said unless the Fed doesn't want him, he would get his preferred GP. Both SC + TdF or COR+NHK does not look to be inconvenient for him though.

Ah okay sorry, then I understood it wrong, I thought you meant it's Yuzu decision and not JSF if he does NHK or not

Personally, I'm fine with either combination as long as he has one event in Europe #selfish But even if not, I'll survive (there is Milan after all!). I also have a feeling he'll share one of his GPs with Patrick and one with Javi. Personally, I'd love it if he had one with Boyang so some of the 4Lz juju can rub of early (even though I know it's not possible) I also think Boyang will have to go against Nathan in both his GPs...
