-On Ice Rink Sendai
Ice Rink Sendai produced four skaters who competed at Nagano Olympic in all of four categories, and that was what made his sister start to take skating lesson at the rink and made him start skating as well. When Shizuka was training at Ice Rink Sendai, he was so young and not even a club member, so he had never met her but knew that she was also training at the rink. He thinks that having national champions training at the same rink must affect the motivation of other skaters training at the rink. He thinks that he must have had been thinking that he could be a national champion or an Olympian as long as he kept training there.
-On PW
To land jumps which had beauty, natural flow and was executed to the music had been his ideal since the beginning, but he had some trouble doing it at competitions. PW was the first program with which he could realize his ideal.
-On Sochi and PyeongChang
At Sochi SP concluded at 22:00, then doping test took until one in the morning, and official practice started at seven, so he could not sleep much. He expects the same in PyeonChang and is trying to prepare for it.

At first he felt that this music somehow made him aware of all things in nature, including invisible things. He liked this music because it was played by piano, composed by Japanese composer, related to Nagano which made him start figure skating.
He listens to all kinds of music and enjoys thinking about the music. When he is looking for a music for his program, he tries to listen to even more music thinking what he can bring out from the music and what the music can bring out from him.
-On Salchow
He loves edge jumps. He loves especially Axel and Salchow because these are the jumps he thinks that can be executed with beautiful flow without using too much force from the entrance to the landing.
