The WTT win is not a huuuuge surprise, considering how it is set up with the dance/pairs, but yes, still a surprise and a really nice one. The ladies really won the day... not bad for those youngsters :)

That 3f of his is looking so easy these days, basically like a double, that it is no surprise he tried the 4f in public. He is in such good physical shape these days that it would not surprise me if he gets both jumps much better in training this summer. Too bad we couldnt plant a camera in Pooh... although Pooh does not go to practices....

What a great way to end the season!

So happy for the team, and of course for Yuzu :)
Now everyone can relax and just enjoy themselves to the fullest for the rest of the event.

I am not too sad now that the season is ending... it has been quite a memorable ride. Truly inspiring for everyone.
Hope I don't go too much into Yuzu withdrawal syndrome though during the off-season. But being here in this thread I know will help with that :agree2:

Ok I have to ask here. Has he actually tried the 4F?

I understood it was just from some tweets, but is there anything at all in the papers? Because I just saw the 4Lz mentioned there, and I figure they'd mention the 4F too. So did I miss any reliable sources on this?

I was just going with what others said. I have no clue!! Still, he should try it.
 
maybe we'll find out what quads yuzu has planned when we watch the gala and the quad battle at the end...

if all the reports of him practicing quads are true, then he'll probably surprise us... (i think it's his style to surprise the audience lol)

After 4CC, he said he may try the lutz, the flip or even the axel :drama: He wants to catch them all like Pokemon!

Nathan made him hungry and he was probably going to try it during the off-season but it looks like Shoma is making him even hungrier so he wants to try it now, now now!!! Yuzu stay healthy!!! All the good alignment/technique in the world won't help you if you do these jumps tired and you fall out of alignment! :drama:

It's been some time since I tried something very difficult. I was (finally) able to attempt things that I wanted to try doing in competitions. It was so much fun.

I was planning to say that the Olympics would be the culmination of my skating career but when I gave this matter more thought, I realized that I have trained hard, and my skating is packed full of experience and training. The important thing is for me to skate the way I want to. I need to take one step at a time and heat toward (any) competition.

i really hope he does! of course i support his decision either way but i think it's a real big loss to the world of figure skating if yuzu retires so soon...

not only is he beautiful and unique, he also inspires others to become better as well. to have an amazing athlete like yuzu is a gift to the sport!

That's how I read it and it goes along with what he's been saying lately before this event too.

I think he's figured out there are other challenges out there for him, he loves competitions and this is not something he'll get during shows later, and there is probably a matter of perspective too, now that he's maturing.

i really hope he continues as long as he can ... just because i think his skating is one of the truly precious things of the world and it'll be such a loss if he retires so soon...
 
I think it'll be interesting to see what the new scoring and the shorter FS will bring to the men's discipline, post-Olympics. And how Yuzu will fit into it.

but yeah, yuzu needs to chill... (although knowing him he probably wouldn't...)
