Ugh sorry to spoil the mood, but I hear that /some/ ppl are whining abt how Yuzu has encore but not Shoma (I agree with this part) and the issue about who is the ace (THIS I am fed up with, stop the bitterness)

yuzu deserves the encore and well, haters gonna hate

i dun care what others say, i'm just here to enjoy the show

if they dun like the fact that yuzu has encore, well too bad for them - no one's forcing them to watch

Ignore it. It's a gala. Who gets to skate and who gets to skate when is mostly a business decision if you ask me. Has little to do with rewarding skaters for what they did at the competition, so not really worth it to quibble about it. And the whole silly "ace" stuff you best treat like Yuzu: laugh about it and then hug something cute like a Pooh bear or Shoma :p

Yes, why would the reigning Olympic champion, two time gold and reigning World Champion, 4 time gold and reigning GPF champion who won the FS here, and who is the biggest star of Japan and the World, and brings an obscene amount of money into the sport, be the last to skate with an encore?

Hmmm. Yes, so confusing that one.

who said these? (I'll be really sad if it's Japanese fans :disapp: ) I'm seriously so pissed about this stuff. urgh why can't people just enjoy that there's two good single men instead of constantly trying to make out whose better. :palmf: Also, basically what yata said.

Some people in the gala thread are saying it. But not that many.

When the Gala is over I gonna watch his Nice WC RJ again .... I'm so noistalgic now... he was so young and emotional :luv17:

Gosh it made me so sad...he was younger and more reckless and had such a bright future...getting a bronze at Worlds was a big success...and now anything short of gold, even gold (but without breaking a record)...is a failure...so much more pressure, so much less room for risk taking...

Why do I feel so sad listening to RJ...
I feel as if he wasn't here anymore...
Is this depression a normal thing at this time?

Thank you!

Helps me clear my head!

At first it's not clear in real time until you practice looking, unless it's really bad, or you skated yourself. Low jumps are noticeable live. "Hanging on" to a landing is pretty obvious, because there will be a balance check, lean, or extra curve coming out. Or a scratchy noise and ice flying. Someone who looks like they might fall but doesn't.

Each type of jump has a different technique, with a lot of details. One example is that with toe picking jumps, you should drive the pick in with your leg directly behind you, not off to the side. To the side means you have to rotate your body less in the air, so it's a form of cheating. Read Yuzu's interviews because he loves to talk about this stuff.

Comparing slo-mo of different skaters is really the best. That's why this video fans put together is important: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=x8X0u4BX6ks Trust me, anyone can tell from this. Technique is complicated for regular fans like me and you, but the reason Yuzuru's jumps look "easy" is because he uses good technique. Upper body should not be tense, no thud on landing, distance and height of jump, no long pause before, should be speed going in and out. The more you watch the more you will see. Have fun learning!

thank you very much!! :ghug:

And when it happens something like in the SP he thinks that he let everybody down ... OMG, I feel depressed now :slink: I think we feel the end on the season as much as they are... :hslap:
