Thanks for your feedback on the other thread thoughI'll bring the suggestion (excluding the GOE score for what the checked bullets would bring to avoid :taunt
to Fayruza :sad4: who can pass it on to Yulia. I visually deemphasized the number (thin font, small text) expressly to avoid the underscoring narrative/outrage so that we can all focus on how otherworldly and outstanding that performance was.
I think to that end we were actually pretty successful - most of the youtube comments were yuzu-focused and about as gentle as it'd get for a video with 100+ of them, and on niconico too, a lot of the comments were about how they felt a lot of "love" and unity around Hanyu from the video
. We also posted on various figure skating-related pages on Facebook, and for those, the comments focused on it being a new way to understand the program, etc, etc. But to say the GS Edge rollout was unsuccessful would be an understatement
we live and learn... (and make SEIMEI?)
I didn't say this before - though I did share the video on my private Facebook, just because I love it - but really, thank you for that video. As someone who had only been watching figure skating casually before last December, to say it was eye opening would be a huge understatement (although parts of it still feel like Ancient Chinese necause I have no idea what all the steps are lol BUT it is a great starting point for learning!)
I'm probably in the minority, but I'm glad for the GOE score... I was very curious what people who know more about these things think he should have gotten. Actually even in the initial translation of the original analysis, I wished they'd actually added up the technical score - although I did end up trying to do it myself... - and maybe even tried a PCS analysis, just to get a better idea of how these are awarded. But just imagining what that would have resulted in... *shudders*
But yes, please, if you can find the time, do other programs as well!
(As an added side comment... I only used to watch ladies, pretty much, in the past, occasionally... I thought men - generally buff, bigger men - looked weird trying to be graceful, many times. Needless to say that when I saw Yuzuru it was
. But recently I also watched a few ladies programs and... they kind of felt empty to me, comparing to just HOW MUCH is going on in HnL - probably an unfair comparison, though. And it's not about the quads, since I still can't tell rotations apart to save my life. It's just the overall composition of the program. HnL is just amazing... I could be wrong, though, and it could be just my uneducated impression.)

, but just to update news about Yuzu,
Yuzu's is very neat, I think.
