Oh wow, I came back to you guys talking about 4A, how exciting. I don't think about his statement with 4A a lot, I can only watch and let him surprise me!
Regarding 4F--I know Yuzuru hates 4F and understand where '4A sounds more plausible than 4F' could come from, but what exactly makes you guys think of Yuzuru's relationship with 4F that way? Even probably landing it on flat edge, quoting Ender. Genuinely curious! Please tell me the things I've been missing out.
Please take note: it's not about landing the jump on flat edge, it's about taking off the jump from flat edge. Hanyu was not great at the Flip jump. However, he has fixed his Flip in these 2 recent seasons and his 3F has been the most consistent triple along with his 3A. So, will and should Hanyu train the 4F?
It all comes down to this: risks and rewards.
Does it worth it in the end? If the risks are higher than the rewards, it doesn't worth at all.
Do you know why the other men do not train 4A? Because it's too dangerous and they're not good at the Axel like Hanyu. They do not want to harm themselves too badly by training the 4A.
Frankly, Hanyu has no reason to hate the 4F. Like any top man, he can land it if he put all his mind into it. His 3F is already bigger than some's men's 4F. Hanyu even does the 3F out of difficult transitions and in the middle of step sequence. However he has much more important things to do than chasing the 4F: training the whole package and improving the consistency.
I am sure Hanyu does not hate 4F. I actually think he can land a nice 4F if he forces himself to train it. But logically it doesn't worth the time and energy to train 4F while his 4Lo is quite stable as these jumps almost have same base value. And since he can do 4lz with higher base value (means he can get better points), it's more reasonable to spend time on the 4lz, not the 4F.
If Hanyu still goes on after Olympic 2018 for 1-2 seasons, the possibility of seeing him training the 4F and actually landing it might be higher. As at that time, he might train the 4F just for "fun" or "for the sake of landing all quads".
Since he has best 3A, it's reasonable to think he will land a good 4A some day, and Max Ambesi reported that Hanyu indeed landed and rotated the 4A. I trust that man. He seems to has nice inside information.
