Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

Yes, he highly praised her consistency before but I don't remember when :hopelessness: (anyone?)

It was right after WTT, he said he was impressed that she had her best performance at the end of the season and that he was impressed that she could deliver so solidly time and time again, adding he wanted to achieve that too. It was in a magazine, I can’t remember which one though!

Edit, I actually found the quote:

Evgenia Medvedeva in ladies is able to skate cleanly in any situation. Regardless of of peaking or not peaking at Worlds, she can skate at that level anywhere. And then at the end, her performance was so high-quality that she got a season’s best at the end of the season. I think that’s something valuable. Anything other than clean is a failure for her, so without a doubt there is pressure on her. Being able to skate cleanly continuously in that situation is incredible, and I think I have a lot to learn from her mental strength.

If Yuzu doesn't speak English I'm sure Jason is super excited for a chance to practice his Japanese everyday. We hopeless gaijin can always use a little extra renshuu :p.
If you ask me, there is no better opportunity for Yuzu to improve his English skills. Brian and Tracy don't have that much time to talk with him, only about skating related stuff. Jason is a native speaker, very warm hearted and understanding and he really likes Yuzu. So Yuzu doesn't have to feel embarrased, if he makes a mistake, and can switch to Japanese, if a vocabulary doesn't come to his mind. That's a good thing for both of them.

In terms of skating they can offer, what the other one needs: Jason has to improve his jumps and Yuzu has to fix the occasional LV3 issue with his spins and sequences.

And as you mentioned - they're of the same age. They can hang out together, compete together and retire together. Perhaps Yuzu will stay with the boys at TCC now and won't go home immediately after practice (I think Brian or Tracy mentioned something like that?)
I don't know, how it will work out with Boyang, but I'm very optimistic about Yuzu's relationship with Jason. I wouldn't see him as a replacement for Javi. In my opinion there was more tension between Yuzu and Javi in the past. Jason could be a really good friend for Yuzu in the next years. On and off the ice. :hap85:

Well, there are plenty of English speakers at TCC already so the opportunity is not lost on Yuzu. How much English he chooses or doesn't choose to learn is all on him, but he has a lot on him so I cut him some slack. I can't really say what kind of "mode" he gets in when it comes to practicing either. I'm sure he'd rather stay the course and not be distracted. And if Jason is primarily working with another coaching team we don't know for sure how they'll interact. But I will say Jason is one of the nicest people I've ever met. He has a very warm and bubbly personality (though it might be a bit much for some, but he actually didn't seem to be over the top all the time). I watched worlds with his parents in Helsinki (unknowingly until he showed up) at the main hotel and I can see why he is the way he is. You can just tell when you're around good people. He recognized me the entire week, greeting me on his own which I thought was a good show of character considering all the people around.

The tweet says SEIMEI version will come later

Yuzuru, Javier, Shoma, Brian and Tracy before flower ceremony at PC Olympics. Yuzuru is explaining the last 3Lz using his whole body
