Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

Nah, if he's recycling, it'll be Seimei. If not, some super warhorse that I may or may not yet have in my bingo card.

I have to say you are so spot on!

I was hoping for a new program, but if that's what Yuzu and team Orser decided, I totally believe it them and from this minute onwards, I will be looking forward to the SEIMEI 2.0 wholeheartedly, and waiting to see how he could advance this one of the toughest programs in the figure skating history. Go Yuzu!!!!! :hap10: :hap10:

Oh, wow. Kinda always felt Seimei didn't get its shining moment at World's after how good it was that previous fall... not really surprised it is making a return... always loved the music and it is not a warhorse, so, well... I can hardly wait!!!

I thought I would be disappointed for him to repeat an entire season's programs, but when Seimei 2.0, the worst kept secret, was confirmed I found I wasnt bothered. It deserves to shine for all to see. Truly epic final sequence of moves with the ending music. Very Olympic.

3A2T then 3A. This means there is a new quad at the beginning of the program.

Yes!

Also gladipoohsan is doing translations (source)

Riding upon the melody of Japanese flutes and taiko, Hanyu began to skate. He showed a born-again onmyoji as he easily landed 4T three-jump combo, 4S two-jump combo and more.”
From Asahi Shimbun

So we know the quads in the second half too, he is mimicking his WTT layout - 4T-Lo-3S, 4S-3T, and probably 4T

I love Seimei but was honestly hoping for a new LP; however I know it is probably the best strategy going into Olympic season; not only is he familiar with the music, with the program, he also had performed it well and has confidence that comes along with doing well before.

Will we see an updated costume??

So "Chopin's Ballade No. 1" and "Seimei" are the vehicles that will hopefully carry Yuzuru to his second Olympic gold. I was kind of expecting an upgraded "Seimei" for his Olympic season FP ever since I read Yuzuru's statement that he can do the program lay-out of the 2015-2016 "Seimei" perfectly now under any condition. I thought then why would he be doing that unless he wants to bring back "Seimei," but of course with added difficulty ( BV) as he craves challenges. Also I know he'd want to bring a program that speaks of his Japanese heritage to the biggest stage of all, and "Seimei" has proven that it can connect with a Western audience (including judges). I think this is a wise choice for Yuzuru.

I'm back from travelling, and everything's been revealed! Except the costume.
I was genuinely hoping against hope for a new LP, but I was ready for Seimei 2.0 So I'm pretty happy with it too.
With trying out the Lz for the first time in competition, this is the most reasonable strategy so he can have all his jumps stable when the pressure is high. -And the pressure will be higher for Yuzu than anyone else.
Looking forward to seeing more clips of his practice. :ghug:

I'm so happy to know he brings back Seimei as I feel this program still has unfinished business.
Also, I will see both Chopin and Seimei in person at Rostelecom Cup! So excited! :luv17:

I really do love Ballade and Seimei on him, and it's exciting to think about those programs in the Olympc spotlight. But I'll be so sad if Yuzu retires after this season and that's then end of his competitive repertoire :'(

Hoping he experiments more with his EX this year. It'll be great to see him do something light and fun in contrast!

So aside from the 3A+2T, solo 3A and 4T+Lo+3S, do we have any other jumps confirmed for the layout?
