Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

mmm... but I felt it... If other's fan do like this for Yuzu, I really feel bad...

The young lady explained what happened. She started crying, it happens. She didn't boo Nathan. She didn't throw things at him.
If a Nathan Chen fan starts crying next time Yuzuru wins, we can pat them on the back and say it's all right, we understand. Not make videos about them, not tweet nasty, racist stuff about them and expose them to tens of thousands of people for ridicule so much so that it gets to the point where even Paloma from the said Spanish tv has to defend the girl.

Oh and Dai fans did far more than not clap. Far, far more. I am sure this girl did not scream "Radioactive boy" at Nathan and other similar things.

Today I sat through the Portuguese replay with commentary by two ladies who seem to think the only time Yuzu was expressive in his career was with LGC..... :palmf:

couldnt watch anything live except ladies free skate and have so much to catch up to and threads to update but congratz to Yuzuru for customary silver at his 1st GP event of the season, he didnt look down and seemed to be having fun which is great to see, we already know "he needs to practice more" so no surprises there  hoping for steady progress with Olympics being the best competition! :yahoo:

Well Johnny and Tara (while they of course push Nathan too) were actually very complimentary of Yuzu. Tara said she found him so impressive for adding a lutz and going for 5 quads when he really could have kept doing 3 quads cleanly as his strategy. Terry called him among the greatest ever. Johnny said he definitely thinks Yuzu had the artistic edge and he is happy he brought Seimei back and despite the jumps he thought the program had really nice touches. He preferred his program to Nathan's. And then later when Evgenia skated they said that much like Yuzuru what makes them so great is that they continue to push themselves.

So B.ESP vid is out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTytWa6G7bI&feature=youtu.be

Aaand... I don't really know what to think. Some of the comments were  The only thing that it's clear is that they love Shoma and that Yuzuru gets high PCS because he's the Olympic champion. Anyway, I prefer to hear the spanish aunties, they always praise all of the skaters and they don't compare. Pss.

I thought they dont say anything weird or offensive there.. they just say olympic title grants Yuzuru to be 9.0 + skater even if he has not so good performance , they say shoma uno owns the best score of the season so far ( that is true) and his jumping content in programs are packed, they are wondering if it will be reflected his pcs and praising for that... and usually they are like this whenever Yuzu does not perform clean, coz once Yuzuru is out, everyone expects record, just need to get used to the fact that everyone even commentators measure him with different standards :curse:

Also Chris ,Besp commentator is associated with Glacier arena so ...... you got the point .

The PCS thing it's not true, we all saw the PCS he got at SC the previous years. I found it weird that instead of analysing Yuzu's program they talked almost all the time about Shoma, when he wasn't even competing here. They could talk about Nathan. But well:slink:

The press things are giving me headache and this season just started.

They talk , will talk and praise shoma because B esp Chris is one of the directors of Glacier arena in Chicago where shoma trains... so we should keep calm and know that they can be biased and subjective for different reasons too.

They didn't say wrong when they bring the point comparison tho, Yuzu popped 2 quads while shoma was clean at Lombardia.... they do tend to favor shoma for the reason I stated above

Ahhh, I didn't know that :palmf: So a bit unprofessional no? It would be like If Tracy commenting about others skaters talked about Yuzuru, and she never did it. So well, now I know what to expect from them.

Thing is the one who brought Shoma into this was Mark Hanretty. Chris, the one who works at Glacier, wasn't commenting on Rostelecom Cup. They didn't say negative things or preferred Shoma to Yuzuru. In fact Simon didn't say much about Shoma at all, and he's the one who is usually commenting with Chris. They praised Yuzuru and just said that Shoma had a huge score at Lombardia and that it remains to be seen how he will do in Canada. They also talk about Yuzuru during other skaters performances, so.....there is no reason to see a conspiracy in there.

mmm... ok, we tend to hide negative emotion in public, so maybe it's the difference of culture
I knew some people hate his fan who cosplay(is this spell right??), but I didn't know that people make video about her... that was crazy...
That's why I don't use twitter...
I think the cameraman should not have recorded her :(

No, they only said Yuzuru gets his 9s thanks to being an Olympic champion, and then went on and on and on about Shoma and how awesome he is and blah blah blah after Yuzuru Hanyu's skate, in a competition where Shoma Uno wasn't even present.
And the tone of ESP has changed ever since Shoma went to Alex, and Chris of course works there. It's really not difficult to hear. It's not exclusive for this season either, but has been happening since the last one, where they conveniently either didn't mention important information or they outright gave out the wrong ones.

Unfortunately, not any people, but the official CBCOlympics (yes, the Canadian television one) made a mocking video, and shared it on Twitter, their Facebook and their official site. The tweet that linked to the video was particularly unpleasant. It was removed after complaints, but they did not remove the video (at least it was still up the last time I looked, on both their site and FB, might be gone by now).
So really, the response to her was totally disproportionate. I agree the cameraman should not have recorded her, he should have left her her privacy but on the other hand, it would not have been that bad, had the response not been so vicious. She really didn't do anything terrible that would warrant it.

I hope she enjoyed the Gala if she managed to see it, and had some fun!
