Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

The billboard with the support messages is beautiful! In the memorial photo book they had a section toward the end with letters from fans, maybe they used that here.

love him and his smooth, light skating!! reminds me a lot of Yuzuru actualy (minus the spins, he really needs a lot of work in that area :slink::biggrin:), his jumps esp. it feels like he doesnt need to spend much energy while taking off,

Oda also said Mitsuki had less preparation move before the jumps than other skaters in GPF, which reminded me of Yuzuru's skating.

Happy belated birthday, Yuzu! You will always be the brightest star on the ice and the reason why I've become reinvested in figure skating :luv17:. I wish for you to have many more breathtaking performances and more importantly the best of health in this upcoming year!

Watching GPF without Yuzu and Javi was indeed a strange feeling. So happy that Mitsuki made the podium.

http://www.hochi.co.jp/sports/winter/20171210-OHT1T50116.html Latest news from Yuzu via Kobayashi
"There is still pain, I have not started on-ice training"
She was able to contact Hanyu two days ago and he said " It's getting better, but there's still pain, I haven't been able to do on-ice training yet. I am concentrating on treatment and rehabilitation"

It's worrying that he's still in pain, but good that he is not trying to rush.
There's nothing we can do except wait and hope for the best.

Kobayashi says that she will keep in touch with Yuzuru more often from now on, so we might have another news in the next week. I'm very sad but skipping the nationals may be the best choice for him at this point. There is still time until the Olympics, I hope he won't rush.

Now I doubt if he will try 4Lz in this season.

If Yuzu WD from JN , he'll be at only one WD JSF statement from Olys.

Yuzuru Hanyu x Ice Jewels Special Interview (Vol. 7)

If I don’t make the Grand Prix, then I will only have one shot with the Japanese Nationals. And when the Pyeongchang Olys is the competition following the Japanese Nationals , definitely it would be too much to adjust, that was the greatest worry , so the decision to attend the competition this time wasn’t actually so easy.

Actually Yuzu has already started to face his greatest worry and it will be even worse if he WD from JN.

Shocking News to wake up to. He's not been on the ice for a month.....are japanese Nationals even possible like this? If Yuzuru doesn't make Nationals are there senior B's he can attend in January? 4CC is too close to the Olympics, but might be another option. Why does it have to be in this season of all seasons? :curse:

There are no Senior B's in NA and Europe in that period, if he skips Nats only option is , JSF letting him skip Olympic team event and he goes to 4cc .

Oh gosh, I can't help but being worried!:sad21:I hope he WDs from nationals,I think it's a risk right now if he hasn't started to train yet.
Then Idk, Brian and his team will figure something out, depending on his needs. Why has this to be so complicated?:sad4:

There are no Challengers, but there are ISU competitions in early January, namely two: EduSport Trophy and FBMA Trophy. But these are so low profile I doubt Yuzu or his team would even consider them...

I have never thought about that, but actually I like that idea... :slink: (but it is unlikely to happen? I don't know...)

In 2014 Daisuke was allowed not to skate at Team Event, Yuzu skated SP and Machida skated FS. So I think there is a chance. Keiji can skate SP and Shoma LP.
