Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

They showed a photo of his notes w/ his talk with Brian saying 'everything will be fine'. From Brian's words, Hanyu is without doubt training in Toronto with all his might. He thinks Hanyu is already on track for the Olympics

according to journalist Jean Christoph Bell(?) he felt like Brian seemed to have confidence about Yuzu's condition based on his gestures and expressions when he was talking to him.

A pic after three months, a photo of notes, journalists whispers….

It’s like there’s a tiger in a cage and everyone is scared because they know the tiger is monstrously hungry and it will be a mess if it escapes eventually :laugh2:

I have to admit I was feeling quite anxious since we are creeping closer and closer to the Olympics, not because of no news (I do not expect to hear from him/about him until the actual games), but because I was watching all the other competition taking place where his main competitors have their final chance to hash out their programs in front of judges and audience.

I do realize there is no point in worrying, but I also want to prepare myself to be realistic and expect any outcome, which at this point is really anything. I have not been reading any discussion about who the favorite is now; is he still consider the person to beat, or more like a dark horse/unknown factor?

Depends on who you ask I guess. Some consider him a frontrunner, others a "miracle if he even medals" I'm ready for any possible outcome and am stocked up on rum and ginger beer. :coffee:

I have been calm about the situation for a while, but when I become worry suddenly, I try to think about the next season (too fast?) You know, he's going to have new program(s) and costumes for sure, he will continue challenging himself as an athlete (taking a year rest might be an option though). The Olympics must mean a lot to him and the fans, but I believe it is not going to be the end and I am so happy about it.

Wow! Yuzuru seems to be doing well. I really miss his skating and I am looking forward to watching two of his best programs yet again soon!!!:hap10:

"(When people talk about) figure skating, especially about Men's, they tend to focus on the quads. But Hanyu-senshu is a skater of "total packege" and his transitions in the programs has been evaluated highly. His performances shows his superb ability of body control."
