Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

I was fast-forwarding through the NHK special too since I could not bear to watch the injury footage...I appreciate their efforts in getting a letter from Yuzuru ( it says it's from week ago), who admitted to feeling both anxious towards the healing process and excited that the big game is approaching. It did show repeatedly that he wanted to include the 4lz and was very confident about it (pre-injury), but now we know from Brian that he will not be attempting that jump. ( I guess NHK did not have time to include that latest info or maybe I missed it?)

Yeah, including Orser's latest information could have made huge difference in terms of leaving good impression for the fans and the viewers, but they didn't or couldn't. IMO, one of the reasons why some fans were upset after watching it might be that they had have high expectation toward the program by reading this interview by a NHK stuff.

This interview emphasizes on great aspects and attitude of Yuzuru as an athlete while they were shooting him, but the main focus of actual program was mostly on 4Lz and they spent about 8 minutes out of 45 minutes to show other skaters' success while he was injured. (and of course, it is not those skaters' fault.)

Sorry for the rant, but it was good we had new (?) information like his general icing time on his foot is 15 minutes  And he asked for Kikuchi's advice and he listened, which was wise of him.

Orser talked with the media again today.

・Yuzuru is going to do 2 quads in SP, 4 or 5 quads in FS, choose one from three patterns.
・He is planning to do 4T and 4S, but 4Lo is uncertain yet.
・He was doing physical training and image training of the jumps when he was off the ice, and now he has been building up the stamina doing runthrough 3 times for SP and about 2 times for FS a day.
・When he first got on the ice in the beginning of January, he did 1A, and then did 2A but failed, so he tried 3A and succeeded. After that, he has been doing well.

Of course :palmf:

The layout options as has been discussed I suppose; hope the 4Lo is ready in time (though he can probably win without it).

I tried to watch that documentary but it really was way too dramatic for me (I actually laughed when the 'villain' music came up whenever Nathan or Shoma appeared lol).

I don't like over-dramatization. Yuzu has had a difficult season but he's ready to overcome it and fight, this documentary seemed just really depressing to me

Olympics: Absent Hanyu putting blood and tears into Olympic comeback
perfect title!

May be Orser is talking too much actually

While I was navigating Seoul Station today I saw someone holding a stuffed Winnie the Pooh, she must’ve been a fan!

Aww... just a few more days!!! It feels like the days of waiting has passed and only joy is there upon seeing Yuzuru on ice skate his programs. I really really really pray he wins.

His body will be ready. It's his mind we'll need to worry about. May the power of kuyashii sustain him.

The power of Kuyashii has lead him to prove he deserve the gold at Sochi, and break world record multiple times in last 4 years. I guess he is close to fully charged by now
