Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

I cannot help, but feel how Yuzuru's absence from competition and media overall makes my excitement for Olympics in general. There's just only expectation from me - to see him on the ice, trying his best and adding this immense presence, aura to the competition. I think that a lot lot of people are anticipating this sole moment of seeing him on ice again, in action - I can only hope that this will empower Yuzuru even more:)

Lol we are all very recognizable group of fans.

I’ll also say Korea has a ton of Winnie the Pooh you can buy. I remember searching high and low in Boston for one to toss on the ice and ultimately only finding a Pooh dog chew toy. In terminal 2 there were at least 3 shops with small Pooh stuffed animals.

NHK's Pre-olympics special has just aired, OMG, it's about to start. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/kjxk4eK6nUDnlEqbZnJ
First off, goooo Noriaki Kasai Senshu, qualify the finals and a medal. :hap10:

During filming CM of Ghana in last June

(what do you want to do now?)

"Practice!!!"

"Because there is the Olympics!!"

Kanako has been on TV almost all day yesterday, and probably she will be busy until the figure skating events finished. I hope she stays healthy (she is young, she is going to be ok ).

The coach is vague on a lot of the details surrounding Hanyu's recovery, and with good reason: The Japanese media has a tendency to blow out of proportion even the most minor piece of news about its golden boy.

So Orser texted Hanyu on Tuesday night to say he had been talking to the global media at the Olympics.

"I said, 'This is what I'm saying...is it OK?'" Orser said. "He told me he had already seen the interviews."

Lol, I'm happy everyone seems to be on the same page heading into the games. At the same time I am imagining him scrolling the internet to see what's been reported about him during his spare time:laugh:...

:laugh2:
I hope he got positive energy from Orser’s words at those interviews , I definitely did.
He ghosted the media, but seems like he is very alert of what is happing :cool14:

I had vacuum packed my pooh bears into my luggage just to be safe. I guess its a good thing I did  Hope you're enjoying your time in Korea so far!

I was reading this article https://ameblo.jp/ecovail/entry-12351478325.html and couldn't help but crying. Yuzuru is a wonderful person
Friday next week is here and I don't know if I will be able to handle the outcome. I only want him to be happy and leave the games with no regrets, he deserves everything.

Thank you for sharing this story about Yuzuru, which also made me tear up. I can picture young Yuzuru gently and patiently teaching Yuki to skate, the same Yuzuru whom we know from other stories was a lively handful for his mother and who didn't back down from bullies older and bigger than he was. He is just this special combination of "kind heart, fierce mind, and brave spirit." No wonder he is so adored and not just by his fellow Japanese. That he carries such love and support into what may be his biggest sporting challenge yet is I think a triumph in itself. Go Yuzuru!

Toshiaki says, “I want him to succeed as a person even more than I want his victory as a competitor. I support Yuzuru-kun as a person.”

Yuzuru is a world treasure .

That Instagram user went from 24 likes per post to over a thousand for that one pic with Yuzu :laugh2:

I can’t wait to see him skate again. Seriously tho.... it really hasn’t been the same for me.

I'm wondering if he will arrive in Korea on the 11th or leave Toronto on the 11th. If it is the former, he has to leave Toronto soon? Lucky that the 11th is Sunday and the 12th is a holiday in Japan since we'll have to be in front of PC and TV on those two days (basically the whole next week ).

Yes, I'm always updating my feeds, hoping that we get news. It's embarrassing, but thankfully all my friends are fans as well and they understand. :ghug:
