Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

It's rare to be outside and to see everyone's faces, different from the rink. He's happy about this.
Talking about resting and rehabilitation. It's going to be tough but he's going to do it.

He risked everything for the Olympics, and he's happy that everyone is happy for him.

The Olympics, to Yuzu is Life itself. He risked everything for it.

-Missed a lot of things. Hopefully there will be a better transcript soon.

:sad4:

Hearing his comments, I think he has learned from seeing Shizuka or other gold medalists that the title of "Olympic gold medalist" means huge and it opens the door for many possibilities in his future life. He is still 23 years old, he has longer life than his competitive career in figure skating.

Yes, he's facing reality clearly, knowing that a gold medal is worth so much to his future.

Fuji TV was talking about the reward for the medalists, gold medalist is given 5,000,000 yen from JOC and 5,000,000 yen from JSF, so Yuzuru will be rewarded 10,000,000 yen in total. And ANA will give him "surprise present" in this evening.

In the next event starts in 5 minutes, the host is Shuzo Matsuoka lol

So $93500.

So looking in to comparatives from other countries I found this:
In addition to the Olympics medals themselves, U.S. athletes who mount the podium in South Korea will get $37,500 for a gold medal, $22,500 for a silver medal and $15,000 for bronze. That money, paid by the U.S. Olympic Committee, is meant to reward them for the years of hard work and the fortunes many have already spent pursuing a dream.
So

It was a little odd for the moderator to ask everyone to stand up and clap...except for Yuzuru. Would make sense if it's when he first came in and before he sat down, but it was quite awkward...
