Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

I would assume (if the move is made official) Evgenia would be paired with Gabby or Elizabet as training partners, rather like Yuzu has been with Javi, especially now that everyone will feel relatively relaxed at the beginning of the new quad (probably no need to hire out an extra rink?). Gabby and Evgenia seemed to enjoy each other's company at the ice show, and it may be that one reason for the presence of Evgenia and Boyang was for Brian to see how they'd do in the show atmosphere with himself and two of his established skaters. I suspect too, as Brian did with Javi regarding Yuzuru, he asked his ladies if they were OK with E becoming a rinkmate. It's also possible he would talk to Yuzuru about Evgenia, in case they are worried about even more press and intrusive fans trying to hang around (as a Torontonian, I say please be respectful to the CC folks and leave them in peace, especially as people are feeling jittery here after that terrible attack nearby).

So, if Evgenia does join the CC, Yuzuru could see her at group events/classes, such as when guest specialists arrive to teach the skaters, and maybe if their schedule overlapped at all, but primary training partners at CC seem to be of the same gender: Stephen and Conrad, Shingo and Jun, Yuzuru and Javi (and maybe Boyang depending on when and if he is at the CC).
Wow thanks for elaboration. Never knew it was 2:1 type of small lessons [emoji43]

Having seeing this many times, but this 3A is insane for a junior skater, and his insane saving in the landing of the jumps is already there

Yuzu really set high goals for himself since childhood. His determination really makes him a champion.
Only few people can really set on a goal and work on it till the end. He might be blessed by having the natural ability. But its his will to utilize and push himself is what made it happen.
It is something that cannot be taught. It is a choice which lead to a decision that developed to a vision and now has become his mission.
I really like the way Yuzu takes things one step at a time.

On this topic, Shizuka Arakawa talked about Yuzu's determination and forward planning since he was a child...I believe this was aired on Miyagi TV on the day of the parade. @ironklaus translated it to English

Watching these kind of his jumps, I always remember the comments by his old coaches "he was a kid who wasn't be afraid of having the falls on the ice". It is very simple but important at the same time, I want to call it "talent". Fumie Suguri also said Yuzuru was a kid skater who kept falling and standing up, falling and standing up, but never gave up. When he taught a little kids last year, he was saying "It's ok , you can fall many times. If you're not giving up and keep practicing, you'll get better. I think that's how it is".

I was a gymnast but I quit when I was 15 because I could never conquer the height. I wish I had the talent to overcome the fear :laugh:

Latest olympic channel tweet featuring Yuzuru. Not sure how I feel about this [emoji32]
I'm not even vaguely surprised - Yuzu's their top clickbait from PC, isn't he? Personally (having dealt with marketing divisions on the rampage) I think they've been a bit more restrained in grabbing the vaguelest of connections to bring him in than some I know too well elsewhere...

I have an impression that whoever is running the Olympic channel account on twitter and instagram are Hanyu fans. And they are the type to ship yuzuru with evgenia. Their twitter is currently full of hate comments from the fans so they may stop now

I remember reading somewhere that the IOC Chair mentioned Yuzu and the Sendai parade at a meeting for Tokyo2020 and said they need to capitalize on that or something... so from that their twitter activities, I guess Yuzu is more or less an unofficial PR/ambassador of the 2020 games now haha

And Yuzuru is the only winter Olympian & only Asian on their twitter’s profile header too!

Anyways, I’m personally fine with them having a bunch of contents on Yuzu as click bait as long as they are factual and relavant & doesn’t lead to comparison between skaters (like the Your week presented by Yuzu stuff was fine since it’s harmless). I mean, Japan seems to be facing some hurdles and criticism gearing up for 2020. I guess Yuzu would be happy if he can help contribute to making the games a success which would benefit Japan’s economy.

Is that sweet potatos or banana he is eating? [emoji23]
There are a lot of sembei (ricecrackers) that are that shape. Like the Bakauke sembei

Just a guess. There are also sembei for babies that are that shape too.

(I eat all these sembei.)
