Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

Do multiple-day ice shows typically have slightly different content for each day? Or is CiONTU special with the changes in interview subject, technique discussed and Yuzu’s medley for each day?

Hahahaha the question on lots of Hanyu fans minds, how to get Yuzuru´s phone number or email?

Wasn´t there a proposal for him to have a conference for Olympic Athletes in the summer? I remember there was something about it after the Olympics...

Probably you mean the monthly lecture run by JOC for the athletes aiming for Tokyo Olympics? Nao Kodaira did it yesterday and participants were about 200 (https://www3.nhk.or.jp/news/html/20180510/k10011434301000.html). I remember Yuzuru was also a candidate for the lecturer.

I think it is possible and don't think people will complain if he does it except for particular people.

I think he'd demur actually - didn't he do the same for the closing ceremony to the Winter ones? Got a lovely delicate sense of decorum, he has.

Talk Corner. He's introducing the most Seinor of his mentors. Tsuzuki Shoichiro. And the spotlight goes to him in the audience...aww.
-Seems the Tsuzuki has been the coach of everyone's coach!

aaand our Hero Mura gets an interview!

What Mura likes about Skating is that it has technicality as well as performance.

About the performing aspect, Mura thinks it's an opportunity for each skater to show their uniqueness.

When Mura was a junior his favorite thing was to jump he wanted to jump axels and quads.

Mura's hero...Honda Takeshi, he wanted to jump like him.

Mura's parents are both coaches...which kind of coaching did he like best?

His main coach was his dad, he was strict but he feels like his Dad's influence was biggest, but his mom would come between them when they argued.

....
His kids made him want to skate in a cool way and show good skating for them. They are not old enough to critique his skating but they know when he pops or falls and they say "You popped"
Yuzu thinks the show rink is too small for Mura's big jumps and skating. He stepped out of a jump in the performance.

Mura and Yuzu chatted on line a lot, Mura talked about his boot problems and asked, when things weren't going well, "How do you do a toeloop again?"

Re: torch bearer iirc the planned route for running the torch will go through the earthquake effected areas... so I presume yuzuru will probrably participate in the torch relay (not sure how you’d call it) in that part of the country?

Sano-san in a red coat. I wonder where he got these made?

Yuzu hands Sano-san a towel... and Sano-san says "Tsuzuki-Sensei, I did it without falling!"

"Everyone is so worried for me, is he ok? Doing this again after 22 years, I felt, figure skating is so fun! Thank you Hanyu for letting me do this"

Now, today's technical element is the hydroblade.

Introducing the difficulty of this element, the balance is difficult, and the strain on the foot it's quite difficult especially coming at the end of the program.

The back-out hydroblade that Suzuki Akiko and Shae lynn are good at.
Next Back-in hydroblade go for a long time...

Mura demonstrates.
"Go longer, more, more, more!" -From Yuzu and Sano

Mura demonstrates doing it with a fore arm on the ice

"What about the shoulder?"
"What about the head?"

Mura: That's called falling!

Yuzu: I used to do the hydroblade with one hand on the ice, then it gradually became no-hands while doing the hydroblade.
It's tiring to hold the leg up like this.

Sano: I practiced the sit-spin so much that my back started hurting, and I couldn't do it in the performance.

Kids question:
My coach and teachers are scary were yours scary?
Yuzu: They were terrible. You hearing this Tsuzuki-sensei?

He then goes on to explain things sensibly but I was laughing so I couldn't do a translation.
