Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

Hopefully the skating lesson can serve as a channel for more people to know him.
Though they can be hard on him, but its not like Yuzu can't prove them wrong and we will love Yuzu no less.

I think it serves yuzu better has he can receive higher GOE for his jumps. A perfect 3A can get up to 14 points. That is better for him

He's the last person who should be concerned about it IMO.

Would you mind elaborating on this, or sending links if there are posts outside GS involved? Not disagreeing, I'm just not understanding why it would help him significantly vs. another top man like Shoma, Nathan, or Boyang. Is it because he'll be able to get higher GOE (+4 and 5) more often than someone who often lands quads but in a scratchy manner or worse?

I did see this post, which looks hopeful, but I don't want to rely on a single example: http://the-real-xmonster.tumblr.com/post/174189641784/in-the-interest-of-testing-out-the-new-bv-and-sov#tumblr_notes

Though the discouraging of the 4A may save some necks (or knees, angles, hips)?

I do agree he and his team will do their utmost to make this work for him.

ETA: obviously if you don't have time to do this, please don't worry about it.

Because with Yuzu's crazy difficult transition entries into jumps and overall perfect jump quality for 3A, 4T, 4S and maybe 4Lo and 4Lz in future, his GOE can beat any man out there alone. He doesn't need 4A with this new GOE span..

Simple. As two-time OGM, as a skater known for his technical quality, and a skater known for his top-class presentation skills, he has little to worry about.

He will easily adapt to these rules.

I am more worried about 1) skaters from smaller feds 2) new seniors 3) the sport.

Maybe this is why they lowered the BV of 4A, to limit injuries

Please note that these are still unfinalised numbers here. If the three required bullet points rule for +5 is enforced, Yuzuru should have a larger lead over Chen.

I hope this doesn't cause too much panic. Yuzuru just isn't the one I see being affected adversely by these rules.
