Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

It's sad to me that he is almost scared to take a picture with 2 of his friends because of the crazy media and some crazy fans. I've actually noticed that Misha Ge had posted a pic of himself and Yuzu asking that the fans respect Yuzu as a person and don't treat him like a machine and he actually had to delete it because he was getting some nasty comments.

People need to chill, at this rate Yuzu will have to do shows by himself :noshake:

Does anyone know exactly what happened with this? I saw the post this morning and thought it was a sweet post, then saw Misha's sad "No matter how you do good people can turn it into bad" with the comments turned off :scratch2::confused:

From the comments on another post it sounded like some people didn't think he should have posted the picture or something??? I'm so confused

Oh, I heard about that post, and was confused about why I never saw it, didn't know he deleted it.

Its so sad that people would post nasty comments on a picture like that. :dumb:

It was a very nice photo of two professionals, why should it be deleted? Actually at this point I don't know if it is Misha that needs to chill or the fans? I mean Evgenia can be the main target of any rumors and she is so cool. Maybe Misha should not react to every comment  Though I don't know what the comments were so I may be harsh on Misha :scratch2:

What? He deleted it? Oh no, what did those people do again... I don’t know what nasty comments were made but their friendship doesn’t deserve this :(

I think what happened was that when Misha said he might not post pics with Yuzu anymore because the fans were too demanding, fans got upset. So Misha posted a picture with Yuzu with a nice caption dedicated to their friendship and people got upset again (not sure about what though) so he deleted it.

Idk, it may be Misha being oversensitive, but it has to be annoying for Yuzu's friends to be constantly targeted by crazy fans criticizing\demanding\asking for more

Misha needs to chill. He's creating drama out of nothing.

There was a very, very distinct minority both when people asked for photos (and this by the way happens all the time with celebs. All. The. Time.) and the few negative comments. You ignore and move on.
What does he do? More drama. And this after the "privacy" post which is just ... ironic.

Yes, he should stop posting photos with Yuzuru if he's incapable of handling even the slightest negative comment. It's simply better overall.
There are enough photos of Yuzuru even without him, I've seen three additional ones today with no issues whatsoever.

This is the original caption Misha posted before it was deleted. He got attacked by Yuzuru fans accusing him of getting close to him due to his fame. Which is obviously ridiculous because Misha is such an easy going person, it's hard not to be his friend. Also there was a video from after the show where Misha asked Yuzuru and Evgenia to take a pic with him but Yuzuru looked like he didn't wanted to do so.

Translation of post FaOI show interview with Yuzuru:
https://notebookfilledwithscrabbles...018-faoi-kanazawa-interview-with-yuzuru-hanyu

Interviewer: Also, about the jumps… When you land them the audience gets excited. Do you feel that you have gotten comfortable with your jumps doing shows and rehearsals?

Hanyu: I can say my condition is getting better… Um… how should I say? Until recently, it has been like, I fight really hard and manage to land a jump. But because of the improvement in physical condition, now I need to control my jumps more, otherwise, I will miss it because of over-rotation or something. So, I’m thinking that I should analyze my jumps more closely and improve their quality. But in that sense, my jumps are recovering themselves in each aspect such as sharpness, how I lift up in the air, how I control the rotation axis, etc., and I think I’m improving by experiencing many things in these shows. So I’m doing these show hoping to be stronger than how I was before Olympics, before the injury.

I just want to say that it makes me incredibly sad to see stuff like this happening. It's just heartbreaking to see "fans" being so ruthless and nasty, creating drama out of nothing and reading into certain situations waaaay more than they should. For people saying misha should learn how to handle the hate - he has previously stated he wouldn't be posting much with yuzu because of the previous incidents, for me this was like a new attempt, I feel like he had hope that people would not be obnoxious and nasty but look what happened...I just don't understand their perspective, as much as I try to. It's so sad that we can't get nice things because of horrible, delusional people. I don't even want to think how Yuzu must be feeling now and the unconfortable atmosphere this creates between him and his friends. Zhenya's last tweet about respect in the figure skating community is very well timed and relevant, even though it was not directly referring to this situation, I think it was some very effective subtle shade that everyone should take note of.

I apologize for this post in advance...

Just to put it out there, something that means nothing to one person may be significant to another person... our minds function differently so one can be emotionally/mentally affected by one thing more than another. There are those with depression who were pushed into a corner because people around them, with good intention, fail see the significance of their concerns/worries. They simply dismiss those concerns tell the ones with depression “It’s only... don’t think about it. Get over it.”

Sorry again for going off topic. Please note, I’m not saying nor suggesting anyone to be in that state of mind. I’m just mindful of comments in the lines of “it’s nothing to worry about” due to personal reasons. By no mean I am trying to attack anyone. I hope you understand:pray:
I’ll delete this post if anyone deem it unfitting.

On another note... It might be me that need to chill :ohwell:

The original post was fine, the comments were mostly positive and there were some aggressive fans that made negative comments but his reaction is a little over the top and only fuels the fire. Honestly everyone (crazy ass fans and Misha should just have a little more chill). The person I feel the most sorry for is Yuzu - just come back to Toronto and be your incognito self!

The truth is he can't go back to Toronto right now- FaOI is not finalized yet, then he has to get that honorable award at July 2nd. Even though he's less stressed in Toronto- unfortunately some crazy people manage to bother him there as well, Brian said he had to give him a ride a few times because of stalkers.

I don't know.... at least with the shows in Japan he gets to have fun, interact with friends and skaters he is a fan of, regardless of whatever SNS drama happens. The moment he goes to Canada, it's work, work, work.

To me it's heartbreaking to see Misha create drama out of nothing, but you know.

And this.
He's tired I would say but he seems to be having a good time. There's no reason whatsoever to think he isn't and no SNS nonsense should stop him from it.

I also think his reaction is a bit over the top... the more you ignore negative people online the less power you give them. At the same time, it is a human reaction born of frustration, I think. I just don't believe it can do Yuzu any good. The people around him need to keep being friends with him as always, ignoring all the noise outside. He deserves to be able to have normal human interactions.

I don't know why you're accusing Misha of causing the drama. He was being accused of using Yuzuru for fame as if he himself was not talented enough to garner any fans. He shouldn't have to put up with these disrespectful fans.

I agree.

When you have a super famous friend with super privacy persona you have to be more careful of your social media involving them. Taking Nam the original TCC band of brothers for example, he has been very considerate toward Yuzuru and Javier during his time at TCC. I remember him asked Yuzuru permission in advance with each posting.

Skating fans, crazy or not, are just acting like.... a fan. Good or bad, they are after all the driving forces of the popularities.

Well Misha could have turned the comments off as Javier does at times when fans get nasty and keep the post. Brian Orser just ignores some nasty messages on his IG account as I've noticed. And boy oh boy what some crazy people write in there...:eeking::roll5:

Please, yes, let him stop posting about Yuzuru Hanyu. Please.

He won't have to "put up with disrespectful fans" and in turn we will lose out on him writing about his private conversations with Yuzuru during his recovery when he told him about the light ahead after the dark times, and we'll miss out on lecturing the fans on privacy etc here and there because apparently tons of positivity is just not enough, when there're a few messy people, as there always are, in literally every social media situation, on literally every post that is in regard to some celebrity.
Yes, that is so, so terrible, that he needs to throw a fit, and create even more drama on SNS. How ironic really, considering some of the stuff he's posted. Oh and btw, if you think the Japanese twitter didn't react to his little passive-aggressive post, think again.

Since he doesn't know how to turn off comments, and doesn't know how to ignore them, then stopping is the best.

So yes, please, he can post about a million other things and everyone's happy. Right? No more disrespectful Hanyu fans who can in turn apparently be super respectful on posts of one Oda for example because something or other. Woo.
