Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

Ok, random,
I was about to open my post with the exact same word

Totally random as well, I suddenly felt like looking for Yuzuru-related articles on Korean portal and came across this one.
http://m.news.naver.com/read.nhn?mode=LSD&mid=sec&sid1=103&oid=421&aid=0003406401
The article is about tourism in Korea which seems totally unrelated to him. At one part the guy said something along the line of “It is expected that the Olympics ice rink where figure skating prince Hanyu Yuzuru took his gold medal will be a popular spot for Japanese tourists”
(not perfect direct translation, but he did refer to Yuzu as “figure skating prince Hanyu Yuzuru” though)

But he's an overlord...:sarcasm:

The suit really fit him although the colors are... interesting. I understand they have to match the patches though!

With his colouring he can pretty much wear any shade of the rainbow and it looks good (I'm talking colour here, not sparkles - though i like the sparkles - or suit fit) Even the LGC purple (though - in tune with those hashtag pictures - I have a suspicion my shallow side softened when it saw just how even longer than usual his legs looked in those iridescent pants....

I'm posting a lot of Throwbacks today, since we're in the middle of the week, and the Awards/Shows/skating will start from Friday so:
Who is showered with Pooh and yellow stuffed animals at the Olympics? https://twitter.com/Pooh_on_Ice/status/1004290814741135360 It's not who you think!
Is it a total coincidence?

He is young! When I see his face, I always remember Shirota's book which talked a lot about Honda  It was shocking but amusing at the same time, he was a another skater who trained in Canada.

It's Thursday here, rehearsal should be on today :dance3:

https://twitter.com/ShibSibs/status/1004552210867372032We’re so excited to start rehearsal day at Heroes & Future 2018 here in Nagano!!!

It started! Since Yuzu has the award thing on Friday, he'll probably arrive Friday night or Saturday morning? Can't wait to see which program he'll perform. H&L? New EX? Dory?

I saw a photo of Elvis from instagram as well. Skaters are starting to arrive. :yahoo:

The voting has finished and the ISU congress decided to vote on all the amended rules as a package.

the no quad repetition proposal was amended to Up to 1 quad repetition allowed, and up to 2 triple repetition allowed. ...I'm not explaining it well:

Proposal 261 (S&P, ID Tech Committee) has been amended: of all triple and quad jumps only two (2) can be executed twice. Of the two repetitions only one (1) can be a quadruple jump. Section about only one quad in free program has been removed from proposal.

And the requirement for steps preceding the single jump in the SP was removed.

Proposal 259 (S&P Tech Committee) to eliminate the language regarding connecting steps immediately preceding the solo jump in the singles short program has been accepted in the package of Technical Proposals by the

In the end, since Yuzu has a very strong 3A, these changes will not affect him much.

But what do you-all think?

I think in the FS he'll definitely repeat 3A doing one in combo and a 4S/4T doing also one of them in combo... maybe 3A, 3A+1/2Lo+3S, 4S,4S+3T

Thank you everyone for the information about ISU rule change, I watched it on the livestream but I could not understand exactly what they were saying except for "coffee break" conversation :p
