For all we know, he could have been approached, and declined... he does like to go his own way in all things, and could just want open choices even in that. It's pretty certain that any business in Japan and many in China/Asia in general - no matter what they were selling, however nonexistent the link to skating might be - would fall over themselves to sign him....

I still hold out hope that one day Yuzu will sign a one-off advertisement with UA. -Hey, a girl can dream!

This Yuzu drought is catching up on me.
I managed to watch every single fancam of his AC2018 programmes on my time line. :popcorn:
Plus rewatched the phenomenal 2015 GPF FS event. Everybody skated so well but Yuzu was there to win it. :points:
 
Today happens to be 'Angel Day' on Japan twitter, so I'm seeing a lot of winged Yuzu and other skaters featured on my feed.

a few days ago, I also painted Yuzu for the inktober challenge and gave him wings. http://figureskating-in-color.tumbl...last-year-i-heard-about-inktober-for-the-very what a coincidence!

I feel the drought as well, and we can't even speculate on costumes because now we know what they are. :biggrin:

Does anyone think there might be a costume change? --I could hope that the Otonal blue might be darkened. ;)

I'm hoping they add some length to Otoñal's top right below the section where the left and right meet. I keep thinking it should cover his belly button and that it looks a tad too short.

I'm wondering if JSF prohibits Sportswear ads with him because the JSF is sponsored by Mizuno?

I always dream of seeing a giant poster of Yuzu modelling UA in New York or something. I think his career is legendary for him to be a global sportswear model internationally, and not just Japan. Like Yuna Kim, she models for New Balance for just Korea. But I think with Yuzu's global popularity and appeal, he could model for international markets, just as how some soccer players model for sportswear all around the world.

I really wish Nike or Under Armor, Mizuno or Aasics approach him someday. To have him as a model whilst he competes will really boost their brand image.

Oh that pixture is gorgeous! Our dark angel.... given his swan programs, feathers and wings do work so well for him.

And that jewellery... I mean, how many sports starts inspire that, and wonderful nail art, and fans, and everything?

And can I share a picture? May not be angelic, but this is one of my favourite fanartists and this picture of Yuzu gathering up his jumps is adorable....

I'm learning to love it just the way it is (but then I quickly learned to love Doryzu) but a tad longer wouldn't hurt no.....

Mind you, the Origin costume is absolutely perfect :luv17:

I just try to look at it as a cropped cardigan that was meant to be short :laugh:
But yes, I would prefer it to be longer... but seems like it wont be an easy alteration.
 
I initially thought that lenght was supposed to make his legs look longer?
Though the shortness is a little off. ^^

Alterations would be hard. I was looking closely if he was to get it altered how would they do it. I was thinking they would attach a longer fabric the same light blue as the costume or maybe a dark blue that matches the colors, underneath the bottom part. It would look like have ruffles in the bottom part of his shirt. The shirt will look longer and he will have ruffles. 😁
 
You talking about the man who re-designed Semei three times, has two different versions of POTO, changed the colour of LGC and PW, and altered the shade of Chopin 2837467 times despite it being his most simple costume :laugh:
I wouldn't be surprised if both Otonal and Origin go through various alterations again (although I think Origin is perfect as is), and I think if they need to make major adjustments the designer can just create a whole new costume rather than tinker with the old one - he has more than enough money for that.

I think the too-short top of Otonal was probably an attempt to make his legs look even longer, and end up making his torso out of proportion. Although Yuzu is the last person on earth that needs to make his legs look longer:laugh:. I recall there was an article about his body proportions and his legs are already 6cm relatively longer than men of his same height - add another 6-7cm from the skating boots and you end up with someone with legs that go on forever like an anime character.

BTW I have always wondered were the costumes from his 15-16 year old days on CWW the exact same one from the past - because when you look at those compare videos of Yuzu's CWW performance to the original one, he visually look like he has grown a lot, but if I look up his past physical data, he hasn't actually grown much at all. So maybe he does still fit in those costumes without alteration. It is almost like puberty never hit him and he is frozen in age since he was 17. I always find it funny when I look at past photos of him with say 15 year old Shoma, Nathan or Boyang - Yuzu has not changed at all, but the other boys at least have grown two heads.

I'm not sure exactly what in specific you're referring to, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if many of his old costumes still fit him. Some people just grow slowly but steadily and then stop without ever having a real growth spurt.

If he still fits into the original R&J1 and Etude, then pretty much every woman in the world would justifiably envy him....

(And oh god, did he look good rewearing Etude or what????)
