This is true, but probably more reason to have the media day so as to control access (as we know all too well TCC are very good at where he's concerned...) Yuzu seems to be to have had a quite impressive grasp of PR and media control from a young age, and I was particularly impressed with how the PR and media flow for Continues With Wings was handled - just enough to whet everyone's appetite, but enough kept back to surprise on the day (I don't know, did anyone guess he was planning to do those old-program skates? For sure the first night audience didn't :hap85:)

If they had Media Day I can imagine trashy Japanese media running around to catch him in the same frame as Evegenia, for example....


I really hope none of the above is true though and he’s planning a nice surprise.

I personally think he should be more relaxed now as he has achieved so many already. Just hope he could enjoy himself more other than try to please everyone.

I'm not mad at all! Why are you apologizing haha? Sorry if I sounded angry? Which I wasn't in the slightest. I just was saying it seems unlikely Yuzu will suddenly not reveal his programs because of his GOAT status. He was called GOAT before, since 2015. But maybe you are right. Maybe he is sensitive now that Zhenya is in TCC. Whatever the reason, fans are getting a bit impatient for news.
 
I wish that his sponsors- chocolate one, Xylitol, etc come with commercials and visuals asap. Really, what are they waiting for? That would feed the hunger of his fans a bit and give the hot topics for fun discussion. Do you remember his commercials costumes for the last few years? Some of those were so much fun to talk about.:biggrin:

Oh you didn’t sound angry to me at all, I’m new to the forum and just the Japanese habit of apologizing...
but really whatever the case, I cannot wait to see Yuzu healthy and happy again, the programs will come in time :)

Haha thanks! I'm reading the threads from other forums and it seems the hardcore fanbase is dying for news too. I just hope he doesn't come out with "I'm doing Carmen this year". God no.

Yes!! Let's have some commercials, some pictures, anything! We've reached 100 pages since this was moved to the new season, and I think we deserve it (and I adore his chocolate ones, even when laughing... like the one where he was making hot chocolate and cheerfully went overboard on the "let's top it with extra sweet stuff!!")

I and my friends were talking about Lotte event actually, you know, the one with all red covered event with actresses because it is in August almost every year. I wonder if he won't do CM of Ghana anymore or he is going to shoot new CM of it. Regardless of 24 hours TV is live or not, he tends to come back to Japan in August but we'll see :)

I completely agree with this. There will always be detractors and honestly as great as Yuzuru is no one can live up to the very high expectations many still put upon him. Now that he’s won back to back OGMs etc., hopefully the weight of the world has lifted from his shoulders and he can now be completely uninhibited (and thus enjoy himself fully) during these last few seasons of his competitive career.

I don't know if he knows how to be any other way than how he already is honestly. He's going to put in the work for whatever his goals are, full stop.

If he's the type I think he is, he wouldn't enjoy it as much any other way. The hard work is part of the enjoyment. Even if he'd have more fun during the process, at the end, he might be much less satisfied and have regrets.
 
Again, I don´t think that critics of another skater is dictating his announcement. He choosed to skate to Seimei and Ballade, last season even when he knew people will criticize him.

I think it is trouble with scheduale, he just probably is not ready to announce anything.
 
I could be 100% wrong, but I can imagine, the late announcement has to do with Brian's recent absence. I'm pretty sure, he wants to be there at TCC, when the rink turns into a shark pool of cameramen and journalists...
Brian has been in China (?!), now he's back in Canada (he was there with Gabby yesterday), so media day could come soon...? :popcorn:

JGP is starting this week. He might be with Stephen Gogolev, this is his first time there so he might be need Brian for support. I don’t think he has a student that’s going to JGP Cup of Austria next week.... Brian probably go to Camp and skate test that Evgenia is going which starts September 5..... so next week is media day! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
 
Other topic. I thought about possible FS layouts again... No matter how I look at it - this one seems to be the most obvious and realistic one to me for the upcoming season:

4Lo
4S
4T
3Lz (or 3F)
---------
4S+3T (or 4T+3T)
3A+1Lo+3S
3A+2T

Sure, you can't count out a 4Lz/4A upgrade. It depends on Yuzu's health, the new judging system and the other competitors.
My gut says, the layout above could work out for him really well. We have seen great 4Lo's from him already and his success rate on the other jumps was amazing in PyeongChang. We don't know his current physical condition and all those other question marks... but with that layout above (plus Olympic pressure off) it could become his strongest and most consistent season. That's my guess... :yay:
