You are perfect :agree:

It's on August 25 and 26 this year, the theme is "Person who changed me" this time. (it's still funny to me Yuzuru skated "Ienaiyo" (I can not tell you) last year while the theme of the show was "confession")

Oh oh oh! I don't suppose that is available anywhere online? I would love to see it...

(On the other hand, I must remind myself not to be greedy, of all skating fans we are certainly the most lavishly gifted with online treasures. On the other other hand, I want to be greedy...)

It so so is (see what I mean about being gifted?)

Is this new? Or a reupload of an old video? Uncle's love of yuzu?

I hadn't seen it before. Thanks for sharing!
Tanaka is one of the photographers who travel to figure skating events and take pictures for the glossy magazine photo books.
He says Yuzu is very difficult to photograph during competition because he is so fast and his preparation for jumps and spins is so short. For one of the photos, (hope and legacy) he marked a spot where Yuzu would turn and face him and hold a pose in the LP and waited there for that one shot. Once a photographer at these events gets a spot at the rink that is the only spot the can have for that day. (the have a draw to see who gets to choose first) So he chose that place to get this particular pose and prayed that Yuzu's eyes would show behind his hand and that the focus would be good.

He also says he tries very hard to photograph the whole body and not have the skate edges cut off.
But he doesn't know until he sees it on his computer, if the photo can be used or not. If the eyes are out of focus the photo can't be used. He was so relieved when he saw it. And was like 'thank you' to his camera.

One other photo he took at the Grand Prix Final 2016. It was so crowded with photographers around the gold medalists on the ice and he wanted a different expression, that instead he went up into the stands to try to get a shot. It was very loud and he called out 'Yuzu, Yuzu' several times. And Yuzu looked up for a moment and it was such a normal, natural expression and it was what he wanted.

I didn't know about this, but it really make sense. It must be very difficult to move around carrying those big cameras, and it would be annoying for the skaters if photographers and other media staff walking around the rink when they perform in the competitions. To have a draw is the best and fair way I think.

It was really nice comment from Mr. Tanaka "I want to continue being "an uncle of the relatives" for the skaters." :)

I am not sure if they will have official live stream, but it is on NTV (Nippoin TV) and hope we'll have the live stream somewhere. There is not official announcement of Yuzuru's participation yet though

Wow thank you for the summary! I didn't know they can't move once picking a spot. Must be tough to get a good pic sometimes.

This is so hilarious:rofl:. Yuzu freaking out watching Nathan won 4CC.

The way he said its a losing streak LMAO.
Honestly if he did the short at maybe at 100'S he would have won.
I found the "Gold, give me gold" bit so funny.
Imagine Javi seeing him like this everyday lol. (Well this could be an exaggeration)
But I guess Javi's comment on him after PC 2018: "He likes to win" now I understand fully.

I just searched and read the lyric of ''Ienaiyo'', well its still kind of way of confession from what I read.
